Light of Kshahrewar - Part One
Everything had been absolutely draining and much too loud all day. Alhaitham was extremely grateful to have his soundproof earpieces with him at all times, otherwise he was certain he would have snapped at the other sages. How dense does a being have to be? Let alone those who are considered sages of Sumeru, one of the highest positions throughout the nation blessed by Nahdia, the god of wisdom. Why must they argue about such trivial things, something that could be fixed so easily with the slightest bit of communication? The thought of somebody without a decent mind like Alhaitham taking over as the true grand sage truly concerned him. If anything the thought itself was rather daunting. Sumeru, instead of being known as the land of wisdom, would be known as the most idiotic land throughout the seven nations of Teyvat.
Shoving his key into the door, which was comically still tangled up with Kavehs, was twisted and pushed open. Immediately upon entering, books and blueprints were scattered all over the floor. Shutting the door with his foot, he locked it and tossed the two keys into the intricately designed key dish, courtesy of Kaveh. He had designed it himself, despite Alhaitham paying for the materials. Kaveh had begged to design 'decent furniture' for inspiration. Alhaitham finally agreed and let him. He couldn't let his roommate sulk otherwise that would cause problems for Alhaitham himself and he most certainly didn't want that. Thus, he practically shoved the bag of mora in his hands with a silent prayer to the god of wisdom to shut Kaveh up. It did work, and after designing said key dish, Kaveh finally had his inspiration back for a project he dubbed to be 'even better than The Palace of Alcazazaray'. How one would get a giant design like that from a mere key dish truly baffled Alhaitham, but whatever kept Kaveh happy right? Back to the matter at hand, he had decided to slowly make his way through the room following the trail of mess and various ink stains. He hated to admit it to himself, but after the day he had faced full of idiots he was finding himself growing angrier by the minute. He didn't want to deal with his own idiot he kept at home. Usually on any other day, he'd come home, ignore whatever mess was made and remind Kaveh (for the hundredth time) to do his share of the chores. Of course he knew that would fall on deaf ears, but he'd then retreat into his room and read until dinner. Alhaitham didn't think he'd be doing that today.
"Kaveh." His voice spoke as he pushed open the door to the architect's room where the mess seemed to be its greatest. He expected to see Kaveh hunched over his desk as per usual, in a world of his own whilst he would mumble incoherent things to himself and scribble on a half finished design. This time though, he saw Kaveh in the middle of his floor with a broken pencil before him and a ripped up piece of paper.
"If you're here to nag then I'm not in the mood."
'Neither am I.' Alhaitham thought, deciphering the rather sorry sight before him.
"I wouldn't have to nag if you kept things tidy and actually did your share of the chores." Kaveh had his head buried in his knees, his hand gripping onto his arm to shield his face and cushion his head.
"I just said that I'm not in the mood, Alhaitham." His eyes were fixed onto the ripped up paper and his legs seemed to drag him to it. Moving to pick it up, he caught a glimpse of a very detailed set of sketches before they were ripped from his hands. "Don't touch that!" Alhaitham was completely used to Kaveh shouting at him, it brought him great amusement so he'd jab at the architect to get him to yell more. It was a wonderful stress reliever and he couldn't help but adore Kavehs dramatics. However, this time felt different. It didn't feel light hearted, there seemed to be real weight behind his words - not that there wasn't usually but this felt a little more serious. You could slice a knife through the sudden wave of silence.
"Why are you sitting here feeling sorry for yourself when you could be working on that design you've tried to destroy?" It was beautiful. He paused as Kavehs sharp crimson gaze met his own, they were glassy. He needs to stop talking, he should give Kaveh some space. "So when you complain that you have no ideas, it's actually that you destroy them instead? Is it that you don't want to make a living for yourself for once?" Why is he still talking? Alhaitham knows that it's not the time to lecture him, but some horrid part of his anger seems to enjoy blowing off steam like this.
"Stop. Just... Just get out!" Kaveh threw the broken pencil at Alhaitham, but he just moved away and glared.
"That's rich, get out of the room I pay for? Surely you remember you didn't pay your half of the rent this month either." Kaveh hated the way Alhaithams gaze remained so calm, even as fat glistening tears made their way down Kavehs cheeks.
"If you don't want me here anymore then just say that! I'm sick of you dancing around things like they mean nothing to you!" … 'Like I mean nothing to you.' Kaveh wishes he added on that bit, but he didn't want to know the truth. He doesn't think he can face Alhaitham saying that he hates him.
"Fine, if that's what keeps you happy. I'm sick of the mess, I'm tired of coming home to your yelling. You're just as bad as the sages I dealt with today."
'Ah,' Kaveh thinks, 'he's had a bad day too then.' Maybe Sumeru was out to get them.
"Oh really? That's a miracle, the mighty 'Acting Grand Sage' of Sumeru who's known to be completely emotionally unavailable, is getting irritated by his colleagues!" Alhaitham narrowed his eyes. "It's not my fault I've got so much work to do before I even think about getting paid to meet your absolutely ridiculous rent deadlines!" The scribe simply rolled his eyes, ignoring the way more tears fell from his crimson eyes. Kaveh may be a dramatic person with rapidly fluctuating moods, but he hadn't ever seen him cry before. This was… new territory. One which both Alhaitham and Kaveh didn't seem too sure about stepping into.
"Ridiculous deadlines? Kaveh, it's the basics. They're bills, I don't control these deadlines. Don't be so dense." Alhaitham simply crossed his arms over his chest, glaring down at Kaveh who was still curled up on the floor. Did the architect always look so vulnerable and small like this? Why's he crying? Alhaitham's eyes trailed around the room, but he couldn't piece it together just yet. It was too messy. "Usually people can pay them on time, unlike you." He paused for a moment, hearing Kaveh sniffles. "Aren't you going to tidy this all up?" I need to see what's wrong, I can't figure it out like this. You're worrying me.
"I'll get to it! Just leave!" Kaveh yelled, hair scrunched up in his hands with his eyes shut tightly. Those tears were falling so much quicker now, Alhaitham couldn't handle it. How can he make it stop?
"Leave yourself, you're clearly not bothered." Kaveh's eyes grew wide, glossy and doe-like as he met the scribe's hardened gaze.
"Seriously? You're kicking me out right now? This is ridiculous! Every single time you swoop to a new low, Alhaitham!" He simply turned and began to leave the room only to return and throw Kaveh's individual key toward him.
"Leave." With that, Alhaitham dodged the mess as he made way for his room quicker than he'd like to admit. Kaveh's crying was soon muffled once again as he activated his earpieces. The sound was too much… Too heartbreaking. By morning, things would be like they never happened. They'd eat breakfast, nag at each other, and continue their work like usual - it was their routine. That didn't happen this time.
Upon waking, the morning sun filtered through the wider windows. Kaveh designed those. He had told him he needed more sunlight, especially if he were to read his books all the time. He didn't want Alhaitham to damage and strain his eyes, the architect said it would cause trouble for him else and he didn't want to deal with it. Thus the large pretty window in his room allowed sunlight to bathe him every morning, and the moonlight to shine upon the book's words every night. Opening his eyes fully, he sat up as the warm blanket fell from his body. It was… strangely quiet. Peaceful even. Alhaitham wondered when that would be broken by a certain roommate of his. Standing up, he kept on his nightwear for the time being for breakfast and stepped out into the hall. It's clean. Why was it clean? He was certain that there were ink stains and blueprints all over the floor… Did Kaveh truly take what Alhaitham said to heart? Hm, it was about time he supposed. Finally, a helpful roommate. However, upon entering the kitchen, Kaveh was nowhere in sight. Nevermind, maybe he was sleeping in today after all of this apparent cleaning last night. The scribe didn't mind, especially if the chores were done which, by some miracle, were done. Preparing himself breakfast wasn't exactly unusual, so he made himself something easy though the scent didn't exactly make things feel the same. It didn't taste as good as when a certain architect made it either. Kaveh's dishes were rather extravagant, Alhaithams were bland. After shoving the food into his mouth and swallowing, he stood and placed the bowl and cutlery by the sink. As an apology for not making breakfast today, Kaveh could wash up. Walking back out, he passed his room. It was silent and there were no loud and irritating snores that he usually heard at night that usually unfortunately sent him to sleep, there was nothing. Maybe he should check on him? Knocking lightly, the door seemed to push open. Why is it empty? Where's the mess?
"Kaveh?" Pushing the door fully open, he stepped in. Where was the colour? Where was his Light of Kshahrewar? Where is Kaveh? He… Truly moved out? "Kaveh… You fool." He took a deep breath in, Kavehs scent of pardisarahs filling his lungs. It was overwhelmingly comforting. "You didn't have to go." I didn't want you to go. He'd bring him back, he'd go out, find him drunk out of his mind somewhere and bring him back. It would go back to normal, the way it's always been - the way it should be. "Kaveh. Wait for me." He immediately left the empty room and returned to his own, getting his usual clothes on after having what felt like the quickest shower of his life. Something which of course Kaveh would scold him for… A scolding he strangely missed. Putting on his soundproof earpieces, he grabbed his key and opened the door once again. "Don't be too far, my Light of Kshahrewar."

Feral: Lucifer X Reader (headcannon)
So, I was watching a nature documentary (voiced by none other than Sir Sir David Attenborough (how can you even get knighted twice? They should knight him again for funsies)) and part of it involved feral dogs.
Now I got to thinking:
Watching a nature documentary with Lucifer would be like:
• He's reading in the common rooms (why am I envisioning a newspaper that's covering his face?)
• You're sat on the same sofa but between you both is a stack of pillows (like two) and your head is on them as you've curled yourself up in a fetal position much to Lucifer's chagrin as your feet, clad in fluffy socks, are on the sofa too. The socks are clean though so he lets it slide only THIS ONE TIME THOUGH!!
He does think they're a hazard though since the floors are marble and you walk (maybe even run) like you aren't a fragile human (which in your eyes you're not).
• Anyways you're boredly scrolling through channels but aren't actually leaving them on long enough to get a feel for the show and after like 20 different voices, sounds, etc, that Luci's heard in the space of a minute he eventually lowers his reading material down.
"Mc, what're you doing?"
"Looking for something to watch."
"You can't have possibly deciphered all those channels were boring for the meagre second you left them on for."
"Yeah, well, we wouldn't be in this predicament had you decided to put something on, but no, you wanna read."
(Was that a bit of attitude, Mc???)
• Yours and Lucifer's eyes are on the telly, until he plucks the remote from your hands and switches the channel from an amateur talent show to a nature documentary about monkeys.
• He leaves the remote by him rather than handing it back to you before pulling his reading material back up to his face.
"Wha- are you trying to kill me??"
You raise your head up slightly to look over at him.
"Just watch the documentary."
"It's boring."
"It just started."
• You're half watching, half on your phone, that is until you hear about the monkeys getting chased by feral dogs. Sir Sir (can't get over that) Attenborough is talking about how the dogs try to separate the adult monkeys from their newborn chimps and how the pack leader is ensuring no one gets left behind as they're running towards the safety tree.
• You see Lucifer's reading material drop to his lap, his gaze stuck onto the TV as he watches the dogs try chase down the poor monkeys.
"Why don't you adopt them? You have a thing for taking in feral creatures."
• His raises a brow in your direction for a second before returning back to the dogs.
"You're not that feral, Mc. Sometimes you're quite tame."
• It takes a few seconds to process his words before your head snaps up to witness the small smirk on his face.
"Oh, fuck you!"
"Mind your language, Mc. One could see that as poor socialisation."
(Just in case that makes no sense to some, poor socialisation can in rare cases lead to feral humans due to not having anyone to socialise you in a human manner.)
• You don't think twice before grabbing a cushion and hitting his head with it.
• Instincts immediately kick in and you're zooming outta there.
"MCCC!!!"
• Watch you slip and slide and almost die as you try run on marble in fcking fluffy socks. But hey, yolo!
• You almost trip and have the biggest face plant but Lucifer catches you just in time.
Our hero and saviour, for the most part anyways...
"Take those death traps off unless you want to severely injure yourself."
Is how he chastises you whilst remaining a firm hold on (of?) your arms.
• Good luck escaping him, you're not leaving him until he trusts you won't do that again.
You will do something of the sort like that again, just not in the upcoming future.
• His brothers are nowhere to be found so it seems you will not have anyone to save you as he pulls you back towards the common room.
Is he going to take you to his room after switching the TV off? Possibly. Unless he decides to mercilessly bombard you with cushions. Either way you're done for.

Winters Bird Cage
Everything felt so numb but still ever so comforting; it radiated warmth despite being snow. Your eyes glided across the soft surface of snow you had awoken amongst. This was your land, your world - yet you had chosen to live a life within a mortal body. Just one simple life cycle to truly cherish your world in person. Yes, there was always the option of descending in your true God-like form, but you decided to keep things low and hidden though that didn't really work. Though you were in human form, many if not all could sense your presence there. The announcement of your arrival was rapidly spread and now there's a group of people challenging the snow as they rush toward you. Hm. This truly was what cold felt like? Numb and prickly... Your body began to shiver as goosebumps began to litter your skin.
//
"Cold..." Your gentle voice spoke as what mortals call 'dragon breath' left your lips. Warm and cold air swirled in a mist-like manner as that word was spoken… Truly pretty.
"Your grace!" Childe was the first to reach you, his red scarf soon being wrapped around you along with his fluffy coat. "Please forgive my casual touch, my Creator." He was soon upon his knees bowing his head to you and as the other Harbingers arrived they too bowed alongside Childe.
"We have long awaited your arrival, my Grace." Pierro was the first to speak to you as the others kept their heads bowed. "It is an honour you blessed our land with your current mortal touch... Please, join us won't you? Allow us to treat you with our highest care…" Il Dottore was the next to speak, eyes shimmering with curiosity and love for you.
"My Grace, although I'm sure you know this already, we must bring you to our home so that you don't grow sick due to the cold." He paused momentarily, a flash of worry in his eyes at your weaker state. "Mortals are fragile after all." You allowed your eyes to wander between them all before finally falling back upon Childes - he seemed to agree with them.
"O-okay. I'd like that…" You smiled lightly at them all and that instantly spread joy through them all. "Childe…" His eyes instantly snapped up to meet yours. You're calling for him? "I want to stay beside you. Please…" Yes, you knew the other harbingers but you knew Childe the best and had grown very fond of him - his presence always felt comforting. "It's really cold." Arlecchino piped up with her eyes gazing over at you all.
"You heard our Grace, let's move back toward the warmth, I won't have them freezing out here." Childe immediately nodded, holding his hand out for you. After taking his hand, you instantly hugged him tightly practically drowning in his large Harbinger jacket. "Tired." Without thinking, he lifted you up in his arms and allowed his jacket to act much like a blanket. Melting at the sight of The Creator in his clothes, he moved toward the others whilst keeping you safe. He didn't want them touching or looking at you… But alas, you didn't just make him did you? Though he wishes it was just him at times.
"Let's move now." Pierro soon piped up, standing along with everyone else and rapidly moving toward their home. The warmth Childe provided was perfect… if anything, you were feeling your consciousness slipping from you and the hushed rapid words against your ear helped aid that.
"Sleep, My Divine. I won't allow anybody to take you from me so just rest now. I will be here when you wake up."
//
"...Speak to me, Speak to me with love in your words." Singing… What a beautiful form of communication. That's why you ensured melodies like this existed throughout the world of Teyvat, the comfort and message each song brought always warmed you. "Make for me... Make for me a soft universe." Opening your eyes you blinked a little, your hand being held by Childes who was sleeping peacefully beside the bed you were currently laying in. He kept his promise and he was exactly where he said he would be beside you. You didn't want him moving too far away from you as afterall, he was currently the only form of comfort and familiarity you had right now despite creating the lands themselves. Though If he's asleep then where is that beautiful melody coming from? Shifting your eyes away from Childe, they soon landed upon Columbina whose eyes were gazing straight into your own. Her body was half slumped across the bed nearing your legs with a soft smile against her lips.
"Your Grace, you've woken at long last!" Much like her singing, her voice too was gentle and filled with sparks of joy. "Childe refused to let go of you but I just couldn't let him have you all to himself now could I? He needs to learn to share." Her smile didn't once falter and her eyes seemed perfectly content gazing into your golden ones. Columbine soon sat up with a gentle hum in continuation of her previous melody, swinging her legs slightly whilst sitting on the chair beside the bed you were laid in. "Tell me... Do you love me?" You instantly nodded - of course you did! You loved all of your creations equally.
"Yes I do." Her smile soon grew at this.
"And I too love you, My Divine. I shall do anything you wish of me." Soft giggles left her which caused Childe's hand to tighten a little around yours.
"You aren't disturbing and bothering our creator with your nonsense, are you?" Turning to once again face Childe, his eyes opened and the first thing he did was glare at her.
"Oh no, don't worry it's okay." You smiled at him, lightly gripping his hand in reassurance. "She was just keeping me company whilst you slept!" He returned your smile and simply nodded, but you barely made out what he mumbled beneath his breath.
"Then I won't rest again if it means your affection will be stolen from me. You're mine."
"Hm?" His usual grin returned,
"Nothing, My Divine." A few rapid knocks sounded at the door and the silence felt beyond worrisome. You had just reawoken in a fragile mortal body, you didn't wish for any surprises. Chide seemed to notice your worry and he soon soothed it with a smile. "Don't fret, your grace, I shall always protect you." Columbine soon interjected with her voice,
"I too will forever protect you! But you don't need to worry here, everyone here worships you as they should." Nodding softly, you allowed yourself to trust their words.
"Come in." Upon the sound of the door opening Arlecchino soon bowed upon one knee - her head low like she wasn't blessed enough to even meet your gaze.
"My Divine. Please forgive my reckless interruption but I've been sent by Pierro and Pulinella to ask if you would bless us with your presence in the dining room." She took a breath, tempting fate by gazing up and meeting your golden orbs. Your gaze on her alone was enough to fill her heart with pure joy and love within an instant. It also made her aware of how close the other two were. And... Is that Chide holding your hand?
"Why are you both treating our Creator so casually? Step away and beg." Her voice seemed similar to a growl, fury rapidly filling her.
"No. I promised to be beside them, don't go around giving orders that you're unable to give." Childe replied just as quickly as she stood. Columbine however made no effort to move either as she continued to hum a tune that was mixed in with the occasional giggle.
"It's okay, Chino." What was that? Did you just bless her with a nickname? Did they have nicknames yet? According to their shocked faces, they didn't. "I- Sorry. Is it okay to call you that?" Did you even have to ask? She'd be your pet if you desired and she'd be thrilled to be yours. A nickname unique to her though? That's a gift from the Divine Creator - how could she possibly decline this wonderful gift?
"Of course! Anything from you I adore." Your small burst of laughter had them all clinging at your every word.
"I wanted them to be beside me, it felt lonely and cold." It seemed that you disliked being cold. Did you wish for her jacket instead of his? She will happily give it to you, it's probably warmer too. Or would you rather she destroyed the Cyro Archon herself? To dethrone the Tsaritsa, maybe even to kill? Anything for you. Just name it and it shall be yours. "But I'm happy to go if you're all there too! I'm just nervous within a mortal body. Please forgive my timidness."
"Please don't fret, your grace!" Columbine smiled at you, "You showed us your Strength and gave us all life... Now allow us to care for you whilst you're fragile like a butterfly."
"Let us show you our undying loyalty to you and you alone." Childe soon cut in before helping you stand.
"Are you prepared to meet the rest of your loyal acolytes my Divine?"
//
The Fatui on their knees was usually a sight only the Tsaritsa got to see,  but now? Now this sight was for you and you alone.
"My Divine," Pierro began, "Welcome home." At this they all stood as he walked forward and guided you to the head chair of the dining hall. Upon being seated everyone else soon did the same and  sat themselves variously at the table. Pierro to your left and Childe protectively to your right. Pulinella soon spoke alongside him.
"Choosing Snezhnaya as your mortal forms birthplace truly was a wise decision indeed. Though we didn't expect anything less from you and we are pleased to know you chose us."
"I'm really glad to be here too! To finally meet you all in person, but I-" Sandrone and Pantalone soon stood up and after bowing to you they both approached, Presenting to you a golden laced Fatui coat.
"We made this for you, your grace."  Sandrone smiled as she held the coat out to you. Pantalone hummed as he took it from her arms and assisted you with putting it on, much to everyone else's disapproval though.
"I had it designed right away for you, My Divine." His grin at you made your heart begin to pick up. Was this nervousness or glee? "Only the finest golden lace and materials for you. We can't have our precious God of all Gods cold now can we?" Sandrone soon sat back upon her machine,  eyes sparling at meeting your own golden gaze.
"Especially during your stay as a mortal!" Did they think you were staying here forever? But you had to visit the other nations and all of your other favourite Creations!
"Ah - this truly is beyond beautiful… Thank you all! But I'm going to be visiting other nations too!" Your smile calmed them but it didn't stop Dottore from expressing his distaste.
"Other nations? Oh my sweet Divine don't you see?" He gestured around, "Everything that you'll ever need is right here."
"My Divine… You have all the love and loyalty you could ever desire and your most powerful acolytes at your every breath." Childe grinned at you, "Don't you wish to stay?"
//
Snezhnaya could be a place you could love and adore... Or it could be a winters bird cage just for you. So, my Divine. What is your choice?

We know desperate times call for desperate measures, but how long can Nanami hide this vile profession from his wife before it comes back to bite him?
Word count : Around 3,150 words

A quiet groan rumbled in Nanami’s chest as his arm stretched towards the nightstand next to him, immediately clicking the “snooze” button to turn off his alarm.
7:00am. That was the current time he read across his phone screen.
He probably should be getting up for work by now, but he figured it wouldn’t kill him to stay just a few extra minutes longer in bed, especially when your sleeping figure lay right beside him.
There you were, your hair a mess, your mouth slightly hanging open as you slept, but still, Nanami couldn’t imagine a better sight to wake up to.
His hand reached to caress your cheek, swiping away a few strands of hair to reveal that beautiful face he loved so much. “Good morning.” He greeted you despite your current state of unconsciousness, placing a tender kiss to your forehead and pulling away to see a subtle smile stringing along your lips; almost as if you were aware of his actions while still sleeping.
Upon seeing that heartwarming smile tugging at your lips, Nanami soon turned over to grab his phone, setting an alarm for ten extra minutes to give him just a little more time with you before he would set off for his hectic work atmosphere.
After placing his phone back on the nightstand, Nanami rolled over once more to meet your sleeping figure. Instinctively, his arms snaked around your waist, pulling your body closer to his as if to return you back to the spot you rightfully belonged.
A gentle grunt escaped your lips in reaction to the sudden movement, causing your eyes to slowly open as you stirred from your slumber.
“Kento?” You asked with a meek voice, eyes squinting to adjust to the soft light seeping through the bedroom curtains. “What time-“
“Shh, go back to sleep.” Nanami cut you off with a tender kiss to your forehead. “You don’t have to be up for a while.” He informed you, lightly massaging his large fingers against the back of your head in hopes to lull you back to sleep.
Your body only scooted closer to his in response, letting out a relaxed sigh as his gentle touch began causing your eyelids to droop.
As you soon returned to your previous state of rest, Nanami’s eyes gaped down at you, a smile soon tracing along his lips as he admired the beautiful sight he still couldn’t believe he got to wake up to every morning.
Even now, after five months had passed since that unforgettable wedding day, Nanami still had trouble processing the fact that you were his wife. The title constantly repeated itself in his mind, almost like he was making sure this was actually his reality and not some fairytale. Whether he was simply running errands, or he was busy at work, the idea of returning home to a “wife” that he adored more than anything is one of the only things that got him through his stressful day.
Working sucked, especially when it came to Nanami’s job. His shifts were painfully long and his position in the company he was employed at was still lower ranking compared to most the others.
He was the embodiment of underpaid and under appreciated at the job he worked at, something he was still unsuccessful in trying to change despite the hard work he’d been putting in for these past five months. The whole thing frustrated him more than anything, yet here he was, still working that infuriating office job because it meant he could provide for the woman he loved.
Even if that same job had proven itself to always be tiresome for Nanami, he still got up early every morning to work those ridiculously long hours. All because he wanted to keep his word on the promise he made you five months ago; that same promise that caused him to slowly crawl out of bed once his timer had gone off ten minutes later.
Careful so he wouldn’t wake you up, Nanami slipped out from under the covers and tiptoed over to his dresser, pulling open the drawer to choose an outfit for the day.
In consideration for your sleep schedule, Nanami made sure to remain the quietest he could while getting ready for work. However he figured he must not have done a very good job since he soon felt your arms slide around his waist, causing him to pause as he was brushing his teeth at the bathroom counter.
“Sorry babe, did I wake you?” He spoke through the foam collecting in his mouth.
“No.” You replied, leaning your head against his back and tightening the grip you had around his waist. “I just wanted to see you off before you left.”
After a quiet hum in response, Nanami quickly leaned over the sink to finish up his brushing, smiling to himself as you continued to cuddle against his backside.
It was mornings like these that Nanami loved the most. Moments when it was just the two of you sharing warmth in complete silence that made his heart soften. There were no distractions, no negative comments that would make him grip his fists in frustration.
It was only you, him, and the love you shared for each other. And that’s exactly how he wanted things to remain.
“Oh by the way, I forgot to tell you…” You spoke, lifting your head to glance at him in the mirror as he was starting to finish up. “My father called yesterday, he says he wants us to come over for dinner tonight.”
Your words stopped Nanami in his place, shifting the atmosphere from the pleasant one it was before to a now cold and uneasy one.
Why? Why did that man have to brought up, especially this early in the morning?
“What for?” Nanami’s tone felt tense and hesitant, the simple mention of your father being enough to cause his toothbrush to tremble against his fingers.
“It’s been five months since the wedding, he says he just wants to check up on us, and to welcome you into the family.”
Nanami almost scoffed at your response. He knew you would never lie to him, but after hearing those words fill his ears, he contemplated asking whether or not this was a prank you were trying to pull on him.
Even if you were telling the truth about what your father had apparently said on the phone, isn’t that something that should’ve been done a long time ago?
If your father really intended on “accepting him into the family” then he should’ve done it when Nanami proposed to you, or on the wedding day at the very least.
But five months later? That’s when he’s deciding to finally acknowledge Nanami’s existence as his son in law?
“He said he wants to make amends for his attitude towards you.”
If you hadn’t been looking at him in the mirror, Kento would’ve rolled his eyes right then and there. The audacity of your father was always something that amazed Nanami. To think that wretched man was planning a simple dinner in order to apologize for all the things he had put your husband through; as if something so minor could ever make up for the monstrosity of hate he willingly showed his own son in law.
“So, will you go?”
Nanami didn’t answer. Instead, he quickly flicked the faucet handle on, spitting his toothpaste into the sink and letting the water wash everything down the drain. After standing back up, he turned around to reach for his towel, but was stopped by the sight of you already holding it out to him; your eyes looming with a desperate attempt to get him to say “yes” to your question.
A quiet sigh jerked from your husband’s throat as he took the towel in his hands, placing it over his face in an attempt to hide the conflict brewing across his features.
The last thing Nanami wanted was to visit your father, especially after hearing about his petty attempt at trying to fix things. The dinner probably wasn’t even his idea either, no doubt an event orchestrated by your mother who then forced your father to call and inform you about it.
But even so, Nanami knew it was important to you to that he tried his best to get along with your father.
You never admitted it to him of course, but your husband could tell you missed being away from your family. I mean up until when you married your husband, your parents were the only people you lived with. Being so suddenly stripped from that must’ve been very strange for you. It was no doubt strange for them as well.
In Nanami’s eyes, your father seemed to be nothing more than a selfish and greedy man, but to you, it was different…
To you, he was still your father.
Granted he was far from being the best one in the world, but he was still your father all the same. The father who helped raise you and made sure you were taken care of throughout your childhood. The same father who would plan extravagant events and birthdays all because he wanted to show his love for you in the only way he knew how. He was the same father who always tried his best to give you everything you needed to be successful in life.
He may not have been the kindest man, but Nanami understood that your father really did care for you.
So maybe he could try to appeal to him in that sense?
He knew how much you wished the two of them would get along, even though their conflict wasn’t exactly Nanami’s fault. But in order to please you, your husband still promised himself he’d try all he could to befriend your father.
So for you, and you only, he’d hold his tongue and attend tonight’s event.
I mean after all, it is just a dinner right?
What could go wrong?

“Hey Kento.”
Nanami’s head quickly turned to the side, watching his manager walk towards him with his arms full of multiple stacks of paper. The man then quickly placed them on top of the copy machine that Nanami was working at, giving the papers a light pat before explaining his instructions.
“I need these papers filed and entered into the system before you leave today.”
His request sounded more like a demand than a favor, considering how printing copies and filing papers all day wasn’t included in Kento’s job description. But still, Nanami wasn’t currently in a powerful enough position at his workplace to refuse, meaning he had to simply deal with the higher ups giving him busy work if he still wanted to land a paycheck every two weeks.
“I’ll make sure they get done sir.”
His manager soon nodded in agreement, letting out a condescending “Good man” before turning to walk off.
Once he witnessed his manager leave the room, Nanami turned back around to continue his work, a heavy sigh jerking from his throat as he glanced over the mountain of paperwork he was left to deal with on top of the work he already was rushing to get done.
“Just three more hours.” He reminded himself, counting down the minutes until he would get to leave for the day.
All he had to do was persevere through another three hours of work, that is if he didn’t have to work any overtime; then he’d finally be able to go home and relax after another tiresome day.
Just three more hours and it would all be over with; for today at least.
So after a quick breather, Nanami lifted his hands to readjust his tie and continued his work on the copying machine.
One by one he finished entering each of the papers inside, laying them all neatly at the other end of the machine afterwards. Then it was onto the large stack of misery he was told to finish before his shift ended. That one took a lot longer than he would’ve liked, but still Nanami prevailed nonetheless. Following that, there still was a few things he had left to accomplish in a short amount of time.
After what felt like an eternity of exhausting work, Nanami finally completed the long list of things he was obligated to do: meaning he was finally able to pack up his stuff and leave for the day.
It was around 6pm when he finally reached his car, quickly getting inside and driving off so he wouldn’t risk his manager suddenly walking out and asking him to work overtime.
A heavy sigh then flew past his lips when he finally pulled into his designated garage for the apartment complex. After turning off the car, he then leaned back against the headrest of his seat, wanting to give himself a minute to cool off before going upstairs to greet you.
Nanami’s work environment had an awful habit of putting him in a bad mood, but he refused to come home to you that way.
No matter how bad things had been, he never wanted to bring home any negativity that could upset you; doing so would’ve only been undeserved and cruel.
So after sitting in silence for a couple extra minutes just to make sure he had enough time to alter his mood, Nanami quickly opened the door and stepped out of the car; unwilling to make his way up those stairs until he confirmed with himself that he had locked the car. Once he did, he placed the keys back in his pocket and secured the grip he had around his briefcase, walking towards the unappealing flight of stairs he needed to climb on afterwards.
He always hated having to walk up those dozens upon dozens of steps, but in the end, his destination was always worth the effort it took to get there.
A small smile seemed to creep across his lips once he finally stopped in front of the door, removing his keys from his work bag so that he could unlock it.
And there it was, that comforting and stress-free environment he had been longing for all night. Just the smell that emitted from the apartment was enough to make him sigh in relief, recognizing it as one of the candles you bought a few weeks ago which had quickly turned into your favorite.
He stepped inside the moment the door was pushed open enough for him to fit, wasting no time in dropping his bags on the floor so he could have his hands free for when they would hold you.
“Hey, I’m home!” He announced after shutting the door, his eyes immediately scanning around to find you.
After no audible response, he quickly made his way into the living room to search for you. He didn’t find you unfortunately, but what he did find made his heart soften all the same.
Still propped up along with one of the wooden barstools from the kitchen was the small easel he had gotten you not even a week after the two of you moved in. The little tray hanging on its frontside was full of paint brushes and dirty water, indicating that you had been using it earlier today.
Eager to see what sort of enchanting picture you had created, he quickly started making his way towards it, but was cut off by a sudden voice behind him.
“Wait don’t look at it!”
He stopped in his place, turning around to see you rushing towards him, desperate to stop him before he gazed upon it.
“I was just in the bathroom when you came in, but I want to show you what I made myself!” You giggled, still clinging onto his arm.
His heart seemed to flutter at the mere sight of you, even more so when that dazzling smile adorned your lips. With just one look at you, all the stress and annoyance building up inside him throughout the night seemed to drain away completely, leaving him with nothing but the warmth he harbored in his heart for you.
“Alright I won’t look at it.” He chuckled lightly, lifting both his hands in the air as if to show that he was surrendering.
“Good. Now close your eyes.” You commanded, refusing to retrieve the artwork until he did as you asked.
“Okay okay I’m closing them.” He allowed his eyelids to shut, feeling your hand grasp around his afterwards and beginning to pull him in the opposite direction. Once you finally stopped in front of what he could only assume was your little easel, your hand started to let go of his. However, he quickly tightened his grip to allow him to hold on still, not ready to let go of your soothing touch just yet.
He heard the quiet giggle that escaped your lips in response to his actions, also hearing the long awaited “you can open your eyes now” a second later.
When he finally did open his eyes, he was met with another one of your beautifully hand crafted paintings. The way the simple shapes and curves added up to compliment the final product, the way you knew exactly where to place the colors in order to make it all that much more realistic and captivating: everything about it made Nanami’s heart grow fonder. As he stood there, gaping in awe at that masterpiece of a panting, it reminded him of why he worked so hard every day.
If keeping that wearisome job was exactly what he had to do to allow you to continue this then he would, without hesitation.
“What do you think?” Your voice spoke up, snapping him out of his momentary trance and causing him to glance over at you.
His arms then quickly stretched towards you, securing themselves around your waist as he pulled you closer to him. “I love it. It’s as beautiful as always.” He complimented you, this time allowing his arms to engulf you in a gentle hug.
“Thanks Ken.” A smile soon pulled at your lips after hearing his words, his approval being one of the most important things to you.
“You’re welcome.” He quietly responded, allowing his eyes to close once again as he reveled in your touch.
The softness of your skin, the lingering scent of your shampoo, even just the beating of your heart against his chest: all of it made Nanami feel at home.
You were the only person that could rejuvenate his tired soul with something as simple as a hug; almost like you had some sort of magical healing ability that you never bothered to mention.
With you, Nanami felt content. However that relaxation didn’t last for much longer when he suddenly heard you remind him of something he’d been dreading this entire day.
“Do you wanna get ready for the dinner now?”

What If I wrote about my OC... Would you guys hate that or would you not mind?! Here's a basic drawing of him I just did it's really rough though -
His name is Ryolah Garlian and I really want to write him in the position of Teyvats Creator. Only this time, when he spawns in Mondstat within a mortal body, he knows they're going to hunt him down and assume he's the imposter. Ryolah came prepared this time to truly make everyone understand and bow before him as their creator. What do you think? Please let me know!
Usually he's really kind and loving, and can be anxious. But here his patience has been tested and he's tired of his own creations trying to make him suffer. He's relived it several times in his head - this times for real though. They're out for blood, and Ryolah is determined to show them who's exactly in power.

Hidden Stress
Mission after mission. Bullet after bullet.  That's all things seemed to be lately, not that you minded of course - you just needed a break. You were desperate for a break. Not only is your mind filled with the battle plan and trying to protect the batch,  but it's also filled with your current worries and stress and it's beginning to overflow.  You have no idea how much longer you can keep it together but… Maybe, just maybe after this mission you can find a place to cry alone and deal with these thoughts and feelings.
"Alright, Mesh'la!" Hunter's voice sounded around the corner,  giving you time to rub your eyes and take some deep breaths in.  Steady your breathing and clear your thoughts… It's not long until you can feel as much as you need to alone. "Are you ready? We better head down now before it gets too late."
"Yeah I'm finishing up! I'll meet you down at the ramp." Shoving whatever you decided that you wanted in your backpack,  you stood up and dusted yourself off.  This is going to be alright. This mission would be short and sweet -  a 4 hour mission. A simple kill and retrieve.  Rushing down to meet Hunter,  you managed a strained smile before shoving on your helmet. Easy.
"Let's go then y/n!"
Hour One
Easy, scope out the area and keep an eye out for our target. Smiling slightly to yourself,  you walked alongside Hunter who seemed rather excited to spend this time with you.
"Thank you again for coming with me on this mission, Mesh'la." He chuckled behind his helmet,  moving along the alleyways beside you. "I know it's pretty boring and basic but it's nice to spend time with you without my brothers causing some kind of catastrophe.  Tech can deal with that for now." You grinned before nudging him lightly with your shoulder.
"I love spending time with you, even if it was gardening or something I'd still want to do it with you." He hummed happily before double checking the coordinates. Thank goodness that conversation was over, honestly it was starting to make your heartbeat a little too quickly and it was getting difficult to suppress any tears. You couldn't let him know what was wrong though - he's the leader of the bad batch.  He has enough to deal with…
"The target should be around here eventually, we can't bombard the actual building because it's filled with clankers." He sighed lightly, crouching behind the building with you. "Let's just wait here, yeah? Tech managed to hack the routine of them so in an hour or two - it should be out and ready for us to take." Nodding along, you smiled.  This will be easy, three hours to go until you could finally feel and ease the numbness that was rapidly turning into pain.
Hour two
Just chatting with him was a little harder than you had originally expected. Yeah, you both spent so much time together but…  His voice was always so soothing. His laugh was so lovely and it just made you want to pour your heart out to him. He'd listen, you know he'd listen. He'd prioritise you without a second thought over this mission and that was the problem. You couldn't let him do that… He's stressed enough, if anything you should be the one to comfort him right? Sighing lightly, you listened as the hiss of the nearby door sounded.
"Movement." You whispered, leaning across to peek at hopefully your target. Perfect. Hunter moved forward a little whilst crouched, nodding and smirking beneath his helmet.
"Alright, let's trail it for a bit - it should take us to another room where we can grab some information Sid wants." Nodding, you proceeded to follow after the larger droid with Hunter in tow. Everything is going to plan!
Hour three.
Yeah no, it didn't stay to plan much longer.  Then again, when did it ever go to plan? It ended up being a pretty obvious trap but you just weren't thinking right now,  another reason you needed that time alone to cry. Shooting another few droids down alongside Hunters bullets, you made your way to the control panel and shoved in the data stick you had been given to protect.
"Cover me!" Your voice sounded amongst the bullets as Hunter stood behind you,  keeping you as safe as possible.  However, he was a little too late to catch the droid on the side who had shot at you causing him to swear under his breath. The bullet grazed past your arm and you took it down with a quick shot to its head.  That was nothing, it was just a small graze. So why were tears pooling to your eyes? Oh no. You can't break down here.  This cannot happen right now! This may be a short mission, but it's equally as important as the others! Sniffling and trying to keep your emotions in check, you removed the data stick as quickly as you could and began to blast droids away to clear a path for you both. Ducking down into a corner to take a breather, you tried to hide the sniffles and hold the tears back. Not long to go… Hold it together…
"Y/n, are you alright? Let me check your arm." Those words alone seemed to make the dam break as you cried involuntarily. Panicking a little, he grabbed the medpack from his own gear and patched the light blaster wound upon your shoulder. "Hey ... Hey, it's alright now I've got you. It'll stop hurting soon, love, just hold on. Nearly there now." That's exactly what you had been telling yourself all along. Your crying didn't stop though, and that's when he knew it was something more… Hour four had just ticked by meaning the Havoc Marauder would be landing nearby for you both. Picking you up bridal style, he looked around and began to sprint toward the exit. "I've got you now… I'll get us there okay? Rely on me now Mesh'la." His voice softened a little, his heart breaking at the sound of your sobs. "Won't let anything happen to you." He stood true to his word as he carried you into the Havoc, giving Tech the data stick and carrying you to your bunk without another word. Laying you down gently, he laid beside you and held you closely to his chest in a protective manner. "What's going on, love?" Your sobs were now muffled by the pillow but luckily he could still make out what you were saying.
"Stressed n' tired n' Im not doing well." His fingertips found themselves in your hair, threading through in a comforting manner.
"Why didn't you come to me?" You hiccuped a little, turning around to hide your face against his chest instead.
"Didn't want to bother you, Hunter. You work so hard to keep us safe n' it's not fair of me." Gentle hushes left his lips as he rubbed your back.
"Oh y/n, i'm always here for you okay? I won't ever be too busy for you. You do the same for us, You're always working so hard and protecting us. We're a team, Mesh'la please always come to me. I won't ever push my Huntress away, understand?" Nodding lightly, your sobs slowly began to calm.
"Promise?"
"I promise you." Moving back a little so he could softly catch your tears with his thumb, he gave you a smile. "Let's fight these thoughts and feelings together Yeah? Now tell me, my sweet. What's on that beautiful mind of yours?"

Summary: A demon wishes to return home and goes to Heavens Prince for help only for a contract to be formed between them.
Tumblr media
Demonic Angelic
"This is no time to discuss such topics, Mr. Brighmore." A deeper voice seemed to bounce off of the white painted walls, the gold interlacing it bringing out the delicate tones. Words bounced between those walls in a rather elegant manner at least, despite the sharper tone. "You are the face of your family and you mustn't stain the royal name with simple conversational mistakes such as that." A simple nod was returned from the silent white-haired boy who sat quite some distance away on the long white clothed table. Sighing at the response he gained, the man stood and turned to face the two guards standing at the door. "I suppose I shall take my leave then." He paused for a moment, darker eyes piercing the icy blue ones he faced, "Please do keep what we spoke about in mind as I do believe it shall be beneficial for our kingdoms." A light wave of a hand brought the two large white doors to open and slam shut once they had all left but the white-haired man who sat bathed in silence.
"And what if I choose otherwise?" He mumbled, shoving himself upwards causing the chair to scrape across the floor. "The fool." Alec himself began to walk toward the larger doors, only for them to open before he could arrive.
"My Prince," Alec gazed upwards and hummed lightly, "we require your assistance in the gardens."
"Await for me there then." He took a deep breath inward. "I shall arrive shortly." The guard just nodded and ran along the grand hallways leaving the prince to stand and stare at the patterns delicately lacing the walls. Before long he had once again straightened his posture and made his way toward the gardens. A Prince's duty never ending and a break was simply never expected. Taking a deep inhale once again, he nodded to himself before swiftly moving through the grand halls to reach the charming gardens that the palace took pride in. However, what his eyes laid upon practically shook him to his core. Moving forth with a little more caution, the tufts of black feathers extended, greyed chains hooked around the demon's wrists as their black hair covered their pale toned skin.
"Your highness." A guard spoke making his way toward him before bowing. "We found this beast of a demon lurking within the palace grounds. As you can see, we've managed to detain it though we wished for your assistance for further action." Alec simply turned his gaze away from the guard and laid their focus upon the demon before him. Moving a little closer he crouched down and moved the hair away from their eyes.
"Daring, aren't you 'angel'?" They spat, turning away from his touch. The words alone made the guards flinch, spears turning to face the demon. Alec however just laughed a little in return, an amused gaze resting upon his face.
"And why wouldn't I be? Clearly you've come here for assistance otherwise you wouldn't have left your realm." Silence was returned to the prince's words, the demon's expression beginning to soften. "In that case, what is it you've come to my realm for?"
"I want to come home." The previously sharp voice had become but a whisper, wings beginning to sink in shame behind his back.
"What makes you think we should trust you, scum?" Another guard practically spat at the demon before them, causing their wings to spread as they attempted to lunge forward at the guard. Before they could, the others used their spears to push them back, drawing blood in the process.
"Enough!" Alec yelled out, Spreading his own white wings to push the guards back with the wind they created. "Didnt you summon me for my orders? Do not embarrass me by taking action before my words." They all winced lightly in shame before nodding and bowing.
"We apologise, Prince Brightmore." A satisfied hum left the Prince's lips before leaning down to take the chains within his hands, gazing down at the demon.
"The demon is to come with me and only me whilst I choose what I shall see fit for them. Understood?"
"Your highness, don't you think that's too dangerous?" A light tug at the chains caused the demon to stand, though rather shakily.
"I'm certain I'll be quite fine. Attend your usual tasks and do not bother us unless otherwise stated by me personally."  They all just bowed rather reluctantly before rapidly dispersing as Alec made his way back through the grand halls with a rather sorrowful looking demon followed along with the occasional tug at their chains.
Finally, two large doors were pushed open and closed just as quickly behind them both. What laid before them appeared to be the Prince's personal room with white and gold toned walls and icy blue patterns surrounding them. Everything was neatly placed besides a stack of what appeared to be documents upon the desk.
"You'll have to forgive me for treating you like a dog." Alec spoke, gently sitting the demon upon his white sheets, "The only way to get you away from them was if I treated you as a pet, I do hope you didn't mind."
"Of course I minded." They growled lightly through their words, turning their face away from Alecs as he crouched before him once again to fiddle with the chains.
"Then I'll make it up to you." He smiled lightly before wrapping his hands around the cuffs. "Release." Those previously heavy chains soon shattered at his touch and soon dispersed into gold specs and then nothingness. "I believe we're even now. Tell me your name?" The demon rolled his eyes before rubbing their wrists and wincing lightly.
"Ryolah Garlian and I'm a man - not a pet." Alec chuckled at this,
"Of course Mr. Garlian, I won't treat you as such again." A light smice graced the Prince's lips again, "So please allow me to  treat those newly acquired wounds of yours?" A sigh allowed a moment for Ryolah to process his words. "I truly do need new guards. What royal guards cause such pain and mess to a demon they just met?"
"I would assume all of them." Came Ryolahs short reply, eyes now trained on the royal angel before him. A light hum was returned as Alec gently took hold of his wrists to examine any damage.
"Hm, I suppose I can't convince you otherwise." Ryolah just mumbled in agreement.  "Now, Please tell me more about why you've come here whilst I heal you okay?" Before the demon could protest, Alec's hands wrapped around his scuffed wrists and allowed a golden aura to cover his injuries throughout his body. "Please, speak freely."
"I... I already told you. I wanted to come home and that's all there is to it."
"Mhm, I see. You've been gone for human centuries - why return now?" Within the time it took Ryolah to form a sentence, Alec had finished with the healing and had winced a little.
"Because I miss home. That's all." The prince stood and placed his hand on top of the demons head as an act of sympathy. "Ah hey! Don't touch me so freely." The prince soon removed his hand and chuckled at his tone.
"You realize by following your brothers to hell you committed treason against me?" Ryolah just stayed silent, looking at the ground in defeat. "You have blood on your hands with that act. Luckily for you though I'm more forgiving." The demon's eyes looked back to meet the Princes. "I have but one request from you, Ryolah Garlian, to atone for your sins and return home."
"And what would that be?" The smirk against the royal angel's lips even sent the demon's iced heart sinking rapidly from the tension. What could the Royal Prince of the Celestial realm want? Surely he has everything that he desires and more.
"Make a pact with me, Ryolah."
"A pact with me? Are you stupid?" Alec just smiled lightly and shook his head, bringing his rather elegant looking chair before the bed, taking a seat with that smile still embedded upon his face.
"It would appear so! If you don't wish to stay though then you're free to return to your brothers." Ryolah shook his head, leaning forward a little - an unread emotion lurking in his eyes.
"I never said no."
"Well you seemed displeased with my proposal." Crossing his arms he turned away once again with a growl escaping his lips.
"Displeased? Of course I am! What does an angel gain by creating a pact with a demon like me?" He narrowed his eyes, beginning to clearly feel on edge now. "What will you make me do?" Alec gently reached for his hands to prevent them from shaking.
"All I want from you and this pact is your undying loyalty to me. In return you can return home here under my care and by my side." Ryolahs heart seemed to race at the words - was this really worth escaping hell?
"Okay then. I'll make this pact with you." Alec smiled in return, standing and turning away to lower his white cape to expose the skin of his lower shoulder blade.
"Put the seal there, this way only we can see it. If my family were to see this then I'd most certainly be banished."
"Then why risk it?" Ryolah spoke, standing and making his way over to Alec placing a hand at the desired location of his back.
"Because this will be much more beneficial to us. Make the pact." Without another word, his hand misted red before burning the desired mark into the Prince's skin. Removing his hand, he bowed to him - lowering his head whilst mumbling lightly.
"I declare my undying loyalty to you, Prince Brighmore." The white and gold threaded cape soon returned against his flesh before turning back to the demon bowing to him. A slender hand soon rested upon his black hair, a familiar smile back against his lips.
"Welcome Home, Ryolah."
