The three watched as Tengen greeted you excitedly with different expressions.

Makio scoffs, grumbling that Tengen never even smiled at her like that when he returned from missions. Suma's frown deepened, looking like she was ready to cry. Hinatsuru simply frowned, wondering why Tengen acted like this towards you than he did them.

You smiled brightly, bowing and telling Tengen how good it was to see him in good health. Tengen laughs. "Well, I have to stay flashy don't I?" He grins as you giggle at his response.

You then smile and wave at his three wives, and you're surprised when they don't wave back. Makio glares at you and storms away with her basket. Suma tears up and walks away from your gaze. Hinatsuru looks at you, her expression unreadable before she goes back to whatever she was doing.

"Did I do something wrong?" You ask Tengen, a look of worry on your face. The Hashira looks just as perplexed as you.

"I don't know." He replies, his tone confused. "I'll talk to them okay? Don't worry your pretty head off." Tengen pets your head with a soft smile. You smile back, nodding and enjoying his touch.
