CRUISING WITH EDES
Nearly a decade, when I first started research for my book and film OUT IN THE STREETS, I found an article about EDES—a Copenhagen-based artist pushing the boundaries of homoerotic graffiti with explicit, yet amusing vignettes. As soon as I could, I headed to Denmark for document his perspective.
Tumblr media
Now seven years later, it was incredible to return to Copenhagen for his interactive, immersive installation CRUISING WITH EDES; celebrating both baudy homoerotic toilet graffiti and restroom cruising. The space was so convincing that several guests at the opening reception accidentally used the toilets thinking they were functional!
Tumblr media
Curated by Freespace , and hosted by DRIPS CPH, the installation will be open until 13 April 2024.

NYC Pride Mural by David Puck Featuring Drag Icon Sasha Colby
Getting to curate the 2nd Ave Wall has become such a fun NYC tradition to kick off Pride. This year I was so excited to bring in David Puck to create this incredible mural to honor drag legend, Sasha Colby.
The current backlash against the LGBTQ community can feel overwhelming, which is why it was so important to express the beauty and joy of the queer experience in this piece—a reminder that our love for each other is louder.
Tumblr media
I’m also so thankful for Hard Rock Hotels for their support this year. They’ve been such a great partner in helping this wall come together.
The mural—which is located at the corner of Houston and 2nd Ave—is on view for all of June.
Long live Queer Street Art!

Nuart Journal: TRESPASS
Check out the most recent Nuart Journal, where I had the absolute honor of being interviewed by Dr Susan Hansen about Queer Street Art and my film OUT IN THE STREETS. The interview, which is by far the most in-depth I have done about the project, can be found here: Queer Liberation and Street Art: Taking Public Space and Declaring Our Right to Exist.
And here can be found a digital download of the complete issue for free.

Process Shots: NYC Pride Mural by David Puck Featuring Drag Icon Sasha Colby
Process shots of David Puck working on their portrait of drag goddess Sasha Colby for this year’s 2nd Avenue Pride mural in NYC. I absolutely love that I got to work with David again, who is one of the artists featured in my upcoming documentary about Queer Street Art, OUT IN THE STREETS. Adam's Nest Supports OUT IN THE STREETS with Shirts Designed by Rose Cory
Exciting News! Soon after I asked Rose Cory to do the 2nd Ave Mural for Pride, she showed me her design for the wall and we both joked it needed to be a shirt.
Amazingly, Adam's Nest's has done just that AND are graciously directing 10% of the profits to the production of my Queer Street Art documentary, OUT IN THE STREETS.
Order yours here.

Trailer for OUT IN THE STREETS
I am so excited to finally share the trailer for OUT IN THE STREETS!
Nearly a decade ago, I dreamed of making an international documentary about street art and its relationship to queer liberation, and after 5 1/2 years (and lots of DIY ingenuity), filming is complete! As you know, OUT IN THE STREETS has been a labor of love for me. I filmed in 16 cities across 7 countries, interviewing over 41 artists and activists.
Now I need your help!
Our film is a fiscally sponsored project of Film Independent, which means donations to the film are 100% tax-deductible. Please give what you can AND share the donation page! Your support means everything!
