to dream of starry skies, chapter seven

chapter seven of my gale/tav fic, to dream of starry skies, is here <3
link
snippet:
âThirteen days. Thirteen days I was dead. Do you think it awful too? Do I feel like a walking corpse when you touch me?â
She expects him to let her go. The knowledge he has obtained is too much, surely, and soon he will cast her out or end her altogether. She should have known that Gale has never been a man to meet expectations. No, he exceeds themâevery time. His hands leave her face, but they land on her sides to draw her closer, into the strongest embrace of her life. The fingers on his right hand manage to find the very place the arrow pierced her over her clothes, and they do not draw away.
âYou are no corpse. You are my friend, and a very dear one at that. I love you,â he vows. He has such conviction that she cannot help but believe him.

an improvised guide on what to do when your fiancĂŠ holds a gun to his head on a cold, starlit evening

my bloodweave angst with a happy ending fic, an improvised guide on what to do when your fiancĂŠ holds a gun to his head on a cold, starlit evening, is here <3
summary:
To be actively suicidal, as he has previously viewed it, is a poetic form of self-destruction worthy of soft fame and a tragic memorial. Astarion has spent his life with the understanding that killing oneself is an act of tortured devastation that, in a cruel and twisted way, is utterly beautiful. Though he never came close aside from fleeting fantasies, he thought he could imagine the experience based on pure speculation and interpretation.
The real thing is anything but beautiful. The real thing is ugly, seething, convulsing as it wraps its dark tendrils around all that he loves and rips it apart with hungry claws. It has festered for so long that its release is catastrophic, rotting its way through any hope clinging to the rafters. He does not know if he can face the monster behind the mask. Still, when Galeâs eyes finally meet his, he finds it in himself to try.
OR
Suicide was always a vague conceptâsomething that happened to a friend of a friend. Until it entered their home.

beyond desolation, chapter one

chapter one of my astronaut ellie williams au, beyond desolation, is here <3
link
snippet:
Ellie doesn't need proof to know that Abby Anderson killed Joel Miller. She doesn't need proof when she felt the brake pedal slam uselessly against the car floorâfelt the fear of losing control yet again. Dina would tell her, "An eye for an eye, and the world goes blind," but she could never understand. She hasn't felt...she hasn't seen...
I have to finish it.

to dream of starry skies, chapter four

chapter four of my gale/tav fic, to dream of starry skies, is heređŤ
chapter four: venture forth
snippet:
They freed Aylin. They defied Shar. They defeated Ketheric Thorm and the Avatar of Myrkul, and there is no victory. Only a trail of bodies left behind and bloodstains that may never wash clean.
Daphne spends her sleepless nights replaying the moment Thorm dropped dead, beseeching the gods above for a shred of satisfaction. The man who tamed death in the name of love for the last piece of his heart that had not turned to ash lies at her feet every evening, crying out for his daughter. It is only when she thinks of Aylin that she feels outrage, fists clenched at the thought of the aasimar at Thormâs mercy for a hundred years.
A terrible part of her ponders if she would go to the same lengths to revive someone she loves. If she would renounce her goddess on deathâs door and swear herself to the dread Lord of Bones, wreaking havoc across the land for the sake of that lost soul. When the roaring silence of her own lost thoughts gets too much, an even worse part of her thinks that she might.

snippet:
âOne more thing, just to get us started.â He awaits her permission, then asks, âWhat is your favorite color?â
âI beg your pardon?â
âYour favorite color. What is it? Mine happens to be purple, if it isnât obvious by now.â
âYou are not exactly the master of subtlety,â Daphne allows, earning a chuckle. âAlright, fine. My favorite color is white, and I do not want to hear the âin technical terms, white is a shade,â nonsense that is on the tip of your tongue right now. I know; I just donât care.â

my wonderfully talented @licnheartedd wrote a timkon fic that i think everyone should read before they die
and if youâre listening, i love you
âCass stifles a laugh with the palm of her hand as Tim rolls his eyes. Okay, sure, he has a history ofâŚgoing overboard when things feel out of his control, but it's always for a good reason. Besides, it always works out in the end.
He doesn't have ninety-nine chances to fix this. He's not even sure he has one. But it's worth fixing, so he owes it to himself to try and try and try again until something sticksâuntil he comes out the other side more whole than he went in. All he has left is Robin. He will crawl back to himself in that mask, no matter how much Steph and Cass protest. He will know better than to build a life beyond it this time.â

to dream of starry skies, chapter two

chapter two of my gale/tav fic, to dream of starry skies, is here <3
link to chapter two: focu âranni
snippet:
âWhy did you ask this of me?â she tries. It comes out softer than she meant it.
âI didnât. I donât even know your name,â Gale mutters, avoiding eye contact. âTara asked it of me. Thinks I shouldâŚdiscuss things with someone who would understand.â
âItâs Daphne.â She tells him her name without thinking, and the instant widening of his eyes makes her regret it. Even the Mystrans in the Temple of Return received an alias for the first year of her apprenticeship. That same something she noticed previously surrounding Gale of Waterdeep winds itself around her once again, urging her to trust, to know.
âDaphne.â It is spoken with an odd hesitance, sounding almost marveling in his tone.

Tbh if Cass was a guy she would be the most popular character in the fandom. She's insane. She's hilarious. She constantly teases her siblings. She's extremely overconfident and she has every right to be; she is, without a doubt, the best at what she does. She's horrifically traumatized. She was made to feel like she's an object. She hates authority figures. She has mommy issues. She refuses to kill anyone ever, not because she thinks every single person has the capacity for change, but because killing people hurts her so bad that she refuses to do that to herself. Did I mention she's hilarious. She's literally the character of all time
