7 Facts You (Probably) Didn’t Know About Trainspotting (1996) 1) Trainspotting was a play before it turned into a movie! 2) To play skinny heroin addict Renton (Ewan McGregor) gave up alcohol and dairy for two months! 3) The famous toilet scene, according to the Brian Tufano “Was quite easy to shoot, once you’ve been inventive about it. We ended up cutting a toilet in half and putting a wooden chute behind it. Then, using an art technique called Trompe l'oeil, and the right positioning of the toilet, we made it look like Ewan was going down the toilet.“ 4) The scene where Renton runs over the car that lasts only 5 seconds was shot 20 times! 5) McGregor considers Trainspotting to be his most important film, even bigger than "Star Wars”! 6) The sex scene between Ewan McGregor and Kelly Macdonald had to be trimmed for the American release by a few seconds. 7) The writing on the wall of the Volcano Nightclub (where Renton meets Diane) is the same as that in the Moloko bar in Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange” a movie Boyle encouraged the cast to watch before filming.

A Close Look Into The Making Of Movie Posters:  I have always been crazy about movie posters since I was really young. I would always check them for a long time during my visit to movie theatres and I would get stoked about the different images, colours and design. As I started to grow up, I started collecting the posters of my favourite movies and I would stick them around my bedroom wall. My favourite movie posters are 2001: A space odyssey, The shining and A clockwork orange from Kubrick. Jean Luc Godard’s movie Pierrot Le Fou also has one of the most iconic movie poster. When taking about iconic movie poster designers, Saul bass is a big name for a reason, he has created one of the most iconic poster designs in the film industry.
When it comes to the process of poster design creation, it should be able to capture the essence of the movie without giving the plot away.  Capturing the essence of the movie in the poster is essential – and this is the key component that dictates all of the design choices that the designer will be making. Let’s say it’s a horror movie, then the poster should adopt a dark vibe to it, with darker colours and perhaps a bizarre scene. In addition, it is essential to portray one key element of the movie in the poster design. Colour is a very important factor in movies but also in poster designs. Colours can trigger strong emotions in the audience. A lot of designers choose colours that will attract attention. Using contrasting colours is also a great way to achieve that The choice of typography is also a really important element when designing movie posters. Comedy movies always seem to adopt big bold font types. And horror movies always use fonts that looks like its melting, or with some kind of texture in it. The right choice of typography will set the tone for the movie. A tagline is also a very important element in the movie poster design. The purpose of a tagline is to speak to the potential audience directly. A tagline should summarise the key idea of the movie without, of course, without giving the plot away. Think about 2001 A Space Odyssey movie: The ultimate trip. Movie posters are really fascinating. The design process is also fascinating because it’s a truly thoughtful one and often times it turns out to be a true piece of art.

EMA (2020) - Pablo Larraín Ema is one of the best indie movies released in 2020 Did you know music in this film was composed by the American-Chilean Artist Nicolas Jaar?  Sergio Armstrong’s cinematography leans on reds, blues, greens, neons and flaming orange. The indie movie is about a twisted story about how far someone would go for love and a rejigging of the notion of a modern family blends in debauchery and dance, Ema is not unlike Gaspar Noe’s psychological horror Climax (2018). Like Ema’s impenetrable personality, the emotions remain opaque. As the surprising final scenes unfold, you realise you have learned very little about Larrain’s characters, that you care neither more nor less for any of them – and that’s not a complaint.
