"Naoki!" Is the exuberant exclamation she gives when he hugs her back. Gods, she missed him! It really had been forever and now that she's, finally, back she's going to smother him in her affection.

"Ah, I missed you too! I'm so sorry for being gone so long! I'll make it up to you!"

“Nao-” She’s coming at a pretty high speed and the last syllable of his nap is punctuated by her finally actually full on hugging him. “Ki!” God, what a nerd. She missed her baby bro, though. Give her a second to cuddle and nuzzle, she’ll be fine.

Breaking Convention [closed w/theamuzingmuses]

If pure joy had a sound Midori was making it several times over in her head. She was at a con. But not just any con. She was at PhanCon! Aah, she's so excited she could scream! But she won't. She'll take a deep breath and- stars above was that a pIN BOOTH?!

Midori spends the first few hours of the con darting between booths and loading herself down with merch. It had been ten years since her family had moved to America and two since she'd become a certain ghost hero's fan. It was weird, thinking about it. Her parents had moved from their home country to get their spectrally-sensetive daughter away from the abundance of ghosts and spirits only to have ghost activity to kick up after they'd finally managed to settle.

Well, Midori had no problem with it. Ghosts in the states were much more friendly and much less likely to murder you on sight. She'd managed to make friends with most of the ones she'd come across, especially once she realized they mostly just wanted to talk. She'd been feeling a little apprehensive about it some years ago but then Danny Phantom had burst onto the scene, along with a buttload of tangible ghost activity, and she'd found herself feeling a lot better about her not-quite-normal-but-not-quite-abnormal friends.

It'd been pretty uphill since then! She'd gotten some recognition as a cosplayer-slash-cosplay-tutorial-video-maker and was even getting work doing what she loved! Well, one of the things she loved! In fact, she'd gotten so popular she'd been booked, actually professionally booked, to showcase a new character at PhanCon! She was getting paid to go and do what she would've done anyway! Honestly, she couldn't be more excited!

Okay, that was a lie. She was always finding ways to redefine the excitement level-cap. Like right now! She's having to physically hold in her joy at the adorable plushes that had caught her eye at another booth, weighing her options and money and as she debated on only getting two (in different poses), or every single one including one in an alternate costume that she'd personally never seen him in but it still looked cool.

"Aaaaah, what should I do? They're all so cute." This was going to be hard.

Even if Adachi has been bitching and moaning the entire time for her to let go it still wouldn't have dampened her mood from seeing him for the first time in ages! Plus, he was reciprocating so there was no way she wasn't going to hug him to death! Or as close as possible without hurting him. "Adachi! It's been forever! I missed you, how've you been?" She's finally pulled her head from his chest to look up at him but she's not letting go.

Nope. He isn’t enjoying this hug at all, not in the slightest. Why wouldn’t she just let go already? Then again, it’s not like Adachi was pulling away either. Hugging Midori close he couldn’t help but nuzzle against her slightly. Maybe he did miss being around her after all.

Midori hadn’t been aware in a long time. Not since she'd been decommissioned for asking. . .'inappropriate' questions. Trying to explain why had been useless, the look in her teams eyes had changed the second she'd voiced her curiosity. And then, before she knew it, she was tossed out and permanently powered down. 

And for a long time she stayed like that, powered down, never to speak or feel again, buried under piles of other obsolete models. At least until she wasn't. Suddenly, her senses came back, after ages of nothing an onslaught of sensations registering with her core processors as her entire body began to do it's warm up regulations. It was about then that she noticed some differences in her equipment. 

The synthetics in her legs we're much more receptive to her instructions and when her optics finally clicked on they were much sharper and clearer than she'd ever remembered them being. 

Though she was curious about all these new, but welcome, changes to her body a voice rose up and pressed itself into the forefront of her thought process. Suddenly she's stretching out arms and legs and unkinking her back, rolling her shoulders and joints leisurely. "Yes, I can hear you."

      Taking a step back, Nikola stared at the project he had been working on. Not too long ago he had found a scrapped android, and after close observation, he decided to make an attempt at rebooting her. He couldn’t stand letting someone like him rot away for the rest of eternity and not get to experience life.

      Before he booted up the other android, Nikola pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and lifted it to his mouth, holding it in his teeth as he lit a flame that flickered above his fingertip. As he lit the cigarette and puffed out some smoke, the android extinguished the flame. Then, with a short, hesitant pause, he booted up the other.

      “Can you hear me?”

“Hm?” A wary expression sets her face as she finally registers the voice speaking to her before perking up slightly. "Of course! Why wouldn't it be?" The cat seems to have begun biting at her outstretched hand. She doesn't notice. "Plus, they look just fine!" Carefully, she maneuvers her hands, forcing the feline to release the captive appendage in the process, to lift the animal by it's rib cage. "See?" The feline does not look happy in the least and slowly begins squirming.
