Felt relevant again in light of the new RWBY Beyond episode.
It looks like the system of every being having a single purpose is over in the Ever After.
At least, meeting Somewhat, along with what the Blacksmith says at the end, about how every time humans visit the Ever After many things change implies that.
I'm glad the inhabitants won't be bound to a single purpose anymore. Plus it looks like Somewhat is going to be taking up Jaune's role as the protector of the Ever After!

Latest episode of RWBY Beyond… Glad to see it was a lot more serious in tone, an also that Jaune is very clearly portrayed as very different now that he's been young, and old, and young again.
More hints of the Oscar/Ozpin merge coming very close to completion too. I think it'll be a big part of Volume 10.

Well, if there's anything the epilogue was about, it was about keeping hope in the darkest of times. So that's what I plan to do. Hope that this isn't the end, and that we'll see them again.
