This week has been difficult and will only get more difficult, sadly, but I'm trying to be productive.

I have so much to work on tho, including stuff thats years in the making at this point 😅 but it's keeping me distracted.

Separation Burns Update!

Just a small temporary Author's Note about chapter 9 and the future of the fic going forward.

Its been a little rough ngl, too distracted to write.

I keep opening text documents and end up just staring at them, unable to type anything.

Trying to take it easy.

Feel sad. Take this;

Imagining Vax'ildan working hard to make gifts for everyone all of the time, but rarely receiving any gifts himself because nobody knows what he'd like as he makes gifting his whole personality.

In fact, while Vax always takes time to celebrate other people's birthdays and events, nobody really celebrates any of his.

At first he's fine with it, but after a few years it starts to hurt.

And with everything he goes through in the campaign leading up to The Chroma Crisis? He would probably start to distance himself and think about leaving.

Maybe someone, Vex perhaps, takes notice of this and comes up with a plan to cheer him up?

She gets the rest of Vox Machina and Gilmore, Allura, Kima, Kash, Zahra, Cassandra and Jarett together to make him a cake, get him gifts and throw him a party.

Vax probably cries. A lot.

And Vex hugs him close and calls him a dumbass, but in that way you know your sibling loves you.

Vax has never felt more loved.

Just visited my partner's mum in the hospital and just...

Fuck man.

I'm really gonna miss her.

She's being moved to a hospice facility on Monday and I feel sick.

She doesn't deserve this.

My take on when the Raven Queen tells Vax in season two: “I have been watching you longer than you know”. Or; the author has a thing for predestination and this is my interpretation of the Raven’s Queen’s presence with Vax'ildan throughout his early life.

Hi there - admittedly not great, got bad news about one of my partners' mothers who is in the hospital at the moment.

Trying to be there for Shaun while also preparing myself for the worst - Trying to self-care.

I’m wondering what pike means when she says he’s okay when he’s NOT going to be okay or the same. Can’t she sense his soul and brain has changed?

In the moment she says it, Vax's body has stopped freaking out and is no longer at immediate risk - as far as she is concerned, whatever happened is over.

She has no idea how this may have affected Vax in the long term, but he seems alright now as far as she can tell in her very exhausted and drained state.

(I also haven't fully decided how it will affect him just yet... but im trying to brainstorm it! Lmao)

Sorry for the late reply, life is busy atm with family stuff.

But I got some good writing in yesterday (1am as I type this) and hope to write more tomorrow!

I did take some creative liberty and merged some campaign lore in to make a certain scene work, so let me know how that feels.
