I think theirs one main issue with the design-and if its that its not an elseworlds comic-this isn't what riddler looked like 3ish issues ago-

He looked like this- and while hair is something you can change pretty easily, hell in this screenshot his hair is pretty short in this. I think the issue with this design lies in the fact hes more buff and the change of his design was so sudden considering once agian, the image just shown was from 3ish issues ago.

I think the hatred for this design comes from a few things with the outfit- (While i do agree hes not the worst desgin by a long shoot-there are desgins that are way worst, i think the worst desgin goes to the The New Batman Adventures in the cartoon-) - its more weird and out of the blue if anything-

My main issue with this desgin is how buff hes become allmost instantly, unless there was some insane time jump from hush 2 to whatever was happening 3ish issues ago that I missed.

I think the other issue for riddler in this-is that original hush comic riddler is one of his more iconic designs while its nothing speical in the grand scheme of riddler desgins, the one from the first hush is still one of the betters- so going from this desgin to what we get in hush 2- is sort of jarring especially since if this isn't an else worlds comic he looked not buff and pretty standered 3 issues ago.

I don't understand such a negative reaction to the new Riddler design.

For me, as a long-time reader, the plot is primarily important and how the character will behave, as the authors will show him. In this case, we didn't really see Nygma in action! Maybe his new look will be plot-based. For example, the Riddler became stronger and made himself armor to fight back against Hush both physically and mentally. Why not? Let Eddie be a gagachad genius who can smash his opponent's face instead of running to Joker or Penguin and crying for help (yes, there was such a comic, and he was killed there in the end)

In addition, there were other, similar designs, more cringe for me...

And seeing all this, I prefer this new Eddie. For example, yes, at first I didn't like Riddler from "War of Jokes and Riddles", but as I read, seeing his moves, seeing his advantage, I began to love and respect this version. Therefore, the plot is important first of all. Just imagine Edward from Hush 2 in a classic costume! Oh, gosh, girls, it's just going to be beautiful, and so hot!🫣🤤🤤🤤 Yes, the more classical version is more preferable and canonical, I like it too. And, I hope, new comics will be released with Eddie, who is canonical for us. But I don't understand such a huge argument and whining about Hush 2. They didn't really show Nygma in the first part! Do you care? They decided to write the second part after 20 years, come on! This is definitely in order to attract a new audience. I would understand if Riddler from "Year Zero", where he was the main villain, where he was shown to the readers as well as possible, was so radically changed. Such a decision would be terrible for a fan! Plus, if you just compare, then in most comics Riddler is… canonical! Yes, that's it! They most likely do not plan to change him to the ground and degrade it before the first appearance in the comics🤷‍♀️

Ive come back to say- really- this only lasted 2 issues. Also ive come back to make one correction- I have no clue if enigma is dead in main comics, shes alive in less cannon comics (a dc holiday special i cant remember the name too- and the batman urban legends comic arkham academy) someone pointed this out to me that there probably dead and to that i say- the universe has been reseted so much I have no clue if she's dead or just an unused character in main comics . I do wish we had a little more of not evil riddler-but what was i expecting with his company name being nygmatech-where the only film that appers is batman forever- where hes evil.

Also I still think we should get a female riddler at somepoint- if penguin could get a female version i think riddler is more then capable of getting one

How i feel dc should handle the riddler moveing forward, based on only the preview screens caps ive saw online

okay so they could always do my lame 3rd option, which is absolutely nothing and just let him be a neutral guy forever and that will mean i forever hate dc

NOW The first option- its just batman forever agian, in the sense that the company he's running "nygmatech" which has only appered in batman forever-meaning hes still evil and will produce some evil tech product or something

My secound fun option which prob wont be happening

LET ENIGMA TAKE THE ROLE OF RIDDLER- while it dosent completly make sense as we dont know engimas current stance on if shes actual evil or not- but she would fit, based on the batman urban legend story arkham academy, we see her and she's very much as smart as edward, which is why id think it work

SHE SHOULD BE RIDDLER -IF WERE NOT LETTING EDWARD BE RIDDLER AGIAN-

make for a new interesting take + we'd have a female riddler, which would be cool-
