I had the absolute pleasure of working for a leading UK holiday company in the Canaries Islands some years ago and it’s still a firm favourite of mine. I spent a brilliant year in Lanzarote working as a holiday rep in 2000/2001, looking after a Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca. The days were spent visiting many a hotel and dealing with situations I never dreamt possible.....the good were great and the bad was.....I’ll not go into that 😂. When not in hotels my job was to guide any and all excursions across the island. There’s a whole host of things to do from boat trips to Fuerteventura, Timanfiya National Park (camel rides are literally hilarious) island markets (Inca is amazing), submarine safaris, catamaran cruises to watch the dolphins....then of course there were the party boats and bar crawls through the busy resorts to enjoy drinks, make new friends and party till the early hours. I remember Christmas Day was spent on the beach with friends and guests having a BBQ in the 25c sunshine....totally amazing. Lee and I then moved to Tenerife in 2014 where I was the Operations Manager for a holiday company looking after all of the Canary Islands. We got to see so much of these amazing islands and love to go back whoever we can. Just 63 miles west of Morocco in the Atlantic, these truly incredible islands offer sunshine and fun for literally everyone all year round.
