Motherhood
It’s been almost 21 months I have been playing this role of a mother, to say to the least, it’s been a journey full of love, surprises and challenges. It’s like that feeling of being in love in the initial days, where you feel an adrenaline rush for the smallest things.
I was told by reels that delivery of the baby is the most toughest part - which I believed, until I started the journey onwards. One thing which definitely changed is the absence of “me” time, which actually becomes “we” time. Taking bath became a luxury I would have to ask for. To be honest, it felt like screaming at the top of my lungs “give me a break”.
I remember a friend of mine telling me, the first six months are tough. Then I asked her “ Is it going to be ok later ?” To which said “No, you would just get used to it”. That’s a real story.
Motherhood is a bit overrated is what I feel, wherein you are expected just to feel nice and be all that sacrificial. Being a woman, we are naturally inclined to sacrifice ourselves for the sake of others, but I feel when that goes unnoticed and is taken for sure for granted, that is when one loses it. Some children are easy to deal with, some are not. Let’s be honest and accept that. And when children are not easy to deal with, like my daughter just does not or cannot sleep continuously all through the night from the day one, I crave for a night where I can just sleep. Have tried every expert advice which did not help. I am not complaining but accepting the fact that, that is how it is. And it is ok. God is great and he knows who can handle what, and he gives them exactly that much to handle, not less not more.
As I finish to write this, rushing as my daughter just woke up and has started calling “amma”, that sound is so rewarding and worth every single moment of my life. Just saying ;)

Pillows are comforting !!
Recently, I have noticed that I always have been way too much comfortable with a pillow on my side. Pillows are giving. Pillows are pleasing in many ways. They are irreplaceable the way they accept you for who you are. They are not demanding, would not ask you a favor for being nice.
P.S: They share your joys, as well as soak up your tears, even at times ready for a pillow fight ;)

Comedy as a remedy !
Of all the genres of entertainment, the one closest to my heart is comedy. It cheers me up, no matter which state of mind I am in, it lifts me up and leaves me with an aura of positivity. To be precise, It works as a mood restorative pill for me.
I feel that people with a great sense of humor are blessed in many ways: for one, they look at things with a different perception than the regular one and two, making people laugh is the toughest job on earth and they excel in their job. Lately, we are seeing many comedians entering the fray, which is a great news for our entertainment business and us.
Having said that, I am biased towards healthy comedy, also, I do not understand completely from when using cuss words got funny. Comedy is not all about words and punch lines, its about the timing, delivery and the expression of the comedian which matters the most.
As they say “Laughter is the best medicine” I am grateful to all the comedians out there, who with their great sense of humor are transforming lives and acting as a catalyst in curing many people from their illness.

Relativity of Happiness
For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness. And I was wondering “What is Happiness ?”
A study says that the perception of happiness for a human changes every year, month, week, day or hour too. In our childhood, we were happy when we had a chocolate, or as long as we enjoyed playing a game, or as long as we had friends around, all of which were real short term as we found joy in little things.
As we grew up, we had a notion that getting that job would make us happy or buying that car would make us happy or marrying that girl would make us happy. Yes, for sure we did confront happiness then, but how long did that last ? And how long did you strive for that happiness ? The crux of happiness went missing once we accomplished it. That is the irony of life.
So what is happiness, how to make it last endlessly ? Happiness lasts forever when you lend a helping hand. The very thought that others are happy because of you, will give you immense and ever lasting happiness. An act of kindness gives us contentment. When was the last time you smiled at a passerby which lit up his mood instantly, or did you startle a homeless with hundred bucks, try more and see the difference for yourself as it will leave you in high spirits.

Take that trip !!!
Traveling by far has been the most pleasing piece of art I have come across. It is as pure as meditation. It brings out the inner child in you and rejuvenates you as a whole. While I have been fortunate to cover a lot of ground, at the same time it makes me feel that we are a teeny weeny part of this gigantic world.
The very first time I traveled to a new country, I was amazed by the diverse culture amongst many other things. It filled my heart with endless merriment. There were so many local languages which you wouldn’t understand a bit, but when you get a smile in return when you smile, trust me, that is all what you can ask for on a foreign land :)
So peeps, don’t be too busy not to travel, as you might be too tired to travel later. Traveling will get you to meet new people, new cultures and new ways of looking at life, which you might not want to miss out.
Take that trip you always wanted to and be that traveler you always wanted to be.. as there is no age for traveling :)

Friendships do fade, better treasure them..
Friendships have always held a special place in my heart. I had many friends all through but only a few have made their way to the present day. Not because I was noxious or something but I have observed that friendship wears out when you are not consistent over the course of many years.
Consistency plays a great role to shore up friendships. That is the reason we always had best friends in school, because we know that we would meet them again tomorrow and that consistency builds trust. Once you move to college, your circle of friends gets limited and eventually when you start working, you change cities and you are hardly left with a handful of them whom you rarely meet.
Internet was predominantly supposed to connect people living in distant places, however, the essence of it is missing because of the lack of the feel of importance a person gets, or the fear of not being heard out enough. As you grow along the friendships fade, however, blessed are those who still get to hang out with their besties, as friends unveil the real you.
To all my readers, if you have a cherished friendship, treasure it, treasure it like the most valued present, as the present reality might get you to post selfies, get more likes on social media but chances are very minute that you might find a true friend. Just saying !!!

Sun-kissed or Pale !!!
I read a quote somewhere which said “I am not fair, I am not dark, I am the color of my skin, that nobody care” The color of the skin always influences the first impression. While the lady in the fairness cream ads seems to get a job only after dabbing the fairness creams, it occurs to me that, do only fair people have noteworthy amount of confidence ? Contrarily, in western countries having a considerable amount of tan is contemplated as beauty.
Beauty has nothing to do with your skin color, beauty comes from inside, beyond your skin color. Do not let somebody tell you to get tanned or get fairer, as you have got dreams worth more than just your color. Do not edit your photos just to look brighter or happier, you don’t need them, all that matters is how beautiful you are from inside.
A beautiful soul once said “I have never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful” that was a weighty quote indeed. So all my beautiful lovelies out there, color is not even a factor, just wear your most priced accessory - your SMILE, as smiles are always in fashion :)

Being fit vs Reducing weight
15th July, 2019
All through my childhood, I had been a plump girl which I did not mind until in college. In my II year grad I had an eating disorder - Anorexia, where I was obsessed with being thin. I did not feel like eating, as I was afraid of gaining weight, so I used to throw up whenever I ate anything. As a result, I lost my weight, lost my hair, my skin became pale and I ended up looking sick. I somehow overcame it and was back to my normal size again.
Later, every time I used to gather some inspiration from the outer world and start exercising, some or other injury would stop me, until I met my fitness lover husband. He on the other hand used to apprise me to train, get injured, get healed and then train harder. He changed my whole thought process about being over-weight and helped me come out of my self built shackles.
To start with, I started with a daily stroll which I took no matter what my schedule was. Then I started to run inspired by a colleague, which liberated me in many ways. And then there was no looking back as discipline was the key. Now, I no longer work out to reduce weight, I work out because I am in love with working out and have built a whatever it takes attitude :)
Muhammad Ali once said “I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion”

Cricket in an Indian’s life !!!
11th July, 2019
Given the result of yesterday’s match (WC2019 - Ind vs NZ Semi-Finals) people in India were visibly disheartened, however, we saw a rare glimpse of sportsmanship spirit too. Everyone was in praise for the team, as how unprecedented they journeyed all through the WC tournament, this I would say was commendable. Cricket in India is not just a game, it is rather a way of life, or better I would say life itself.
We are the most ardent fans and have got our emotions attached to this game. Its an Indian thing. I remember when we had won the world cup in 2011, people rallied all night to celebrate the victory, wherein in a different tournament the nation had lashed out badly on the team when they lost a match against Australia, so such are the extremities. Likewise, I have observed that, we Indians are the best when it comes to expressing feelings, as here the emotions speak louder than the words.
As we are a nation which never gives up, we will rebound again in 2023 way too stronger and inviolable. Kudos to the entire team !!!

Cooking is an art !!!
10th July, 2019
As everyone says, Cooking is an Art.. well it is.
While I have been trying to master this art from few months, I happened to watch a movie named “Julie & Julia,” which inspired me to write this. Julie is a blogger and is hell bent on emulating cooking techniques of Julia Child(an American Chef who mastered the art of French Cooking) Julie’s passion for cooking inspired me in many ways, she decides to challenge herself by preparing 525 dishes(from Julia Child’s cook book) in the course of one year. What inspired me was even when she arrived home too exhausted from work, she would muster the courage to cook and put together all her delicacies.
While I was wondering about this, with no offence to anyone, servant-less indian cooking is a thankless job. Mentioning this as many of us take cooking for granted and not as an art, which one should savour and bask in. I never used to like to cook, but after the movie I cook with love, with technique, just like a master chef, even if the dish burns out :P
So all my lovelies out there trying your hand at cooking, just be confident enough to say - Cooking is an art and I have the courage to muster it, no matter how the end result turns out.
P.S: Meryl Streep as Julia Child was a treat to watch
