Back in act 3 and finally rented the rooms at Elf Song. (I was playing a ranger last time, the alley camp seemed like a better option.) I hate it.
I miss the tents! The little personal touches in camp! Everyone is just standing in lines at the ends of their beds staring at each other. It feels so much more awkward than everyone having their own little corner of camp to hangout in.

Wow, now there's a bot going around on Ao3 telling people that the "moderators" will delete works from "deprecated" fandoms and impose bans.
Fearmongering bullshit, but it's fearmongering bullshit that seems to be taking advantage of the recent spotlight series in order to trick authors into deleting their fics.
Just. Why.
What the hell does anyone get out of making these bots.

Hell yeah
I noticed this excellent wing mod on consoles, Soaring Ambition by Nikjima, and it gave me an idea for a modded playthrough.
I made Arueshalae, so now I will be able to see my girlfriends kiss 🥰

Fic Progress!
Hey y’all. I haven’t posted about it much but I’ve been making really regular progress on I Know You, my little pregame Baldur’s Gate fic about Shadowheart and my Tav (Alyss) grappling with a gang of bandits that can seemingly delete the memories of their victims.
Im really proud of the fic so far. I’ve been using it as an excuse to find a regular rhythm of writing before I turn my attention back to some original fiction/fantasy work. Check it out if you have the chance!

Never Meet Your Heroes
A little dialouge rewrite for Alyss meeting Jaheira in the Shadowlands. I wanted to stick close to the original dialouge with some more detail and scenework added in. Bascially, writing practice. Scene Below the cut.
~1,400 Words
Alyss and company stumbled across the bridge to Last Light exhausted. Alyss felt as if her shoes had been filled with rocks and her armor pulled on her shoulders like a heavy shaw that could not be torn off. What little strength had remained after cutting their way through the shades, and rescuing a squad of Harpers to boot, had been drained when they were ambushed by nightmarish shadow crows. Despite Shadowheart’s healing, she could still feel their cutting beaks on her arms and back. Civilization would be a welcome refuge.
Passing under the shield was like dropping a heavy stone she hadn’t realized she’d been carrying. A half dozen Harpers awaited her, including Lassandra who grinned at the sight of them. Despite her exhaustion, Alyss returned the smile.
“Halt!” A voice called. “Step forward! Hands away from your weapons!”
Two sentries had stepped up to the edge of the bridge, hoisting crossbows as they watched the strangers approach through narrowed eyes. Lassandra gave them an exhausted wave.
“Easy, she’s with me.”
The sentires’ stances relaxed only a touch, though Alyss was grateful that they lowered their weapons at least. The first stepped back, as if to escort them into camp while the second glared as they passed. Alyss didn’t care. So long as they escorted her to a nice mug of ale and a soft bed, they could glare all they want.
“Jaheira.” The first sentry spoke. Alyss’s blood ran cold.
Before her stood an old elf, hair carefully braided with two sabers slung in a cross over her shoulders. The Harpers leader glanced back at the newcomers over her shoulder before fully turning with a frown and furrowed brow.
Alyss had only met the legendary hero once, after a particularly difficult job involving a wizard that summoned a demon in the middle of Baldur’s Gate’s harbor. At the time, she had struck the bounty hunter as sensible, if not a little too up tight. Seeing her here meant that Harpers presence in the Shadow-Cursed lands was no mere scouting party. They had purpose here, and Alyss could make a pretty damn good guess as to what it was.
“Jaheira!” Alyss said, trying on a tired smile. “I didn’t expect to-”
Vines lashed around Alyss’s feet as she tried to take another step. Thorns raked into her calves and thighs freezing her in place as light glowed from the old Harpers’ palm. The pressure behind Alyss’s eyes increased as a red coal of anger ignited in her chest.
“Just for once, I wish someone would start with Hello.” She said, glaring down at the vines.
Jaheira smirked. “Hello.”
That was the old woman Alyss remembered. Especially so when a half dozen crossbows were trained on her in the following breath.
“Easy, you know me.” Alyss tried, desperately searching the small crowd for someone else she recognized. Lassandra returned her pained look, but could only offer a small shake of her head.
“Interesting that I do not recognize you then.” Jaheira replied, head cocked. “Though I have something that might.”
She stepped forward, producing a small vial from a pouch on her waist. Alyss’s heart sank as she recognized the oversized tadpole that swam within it.
“This is why we are here, you see. It is a curious creature that hides all manner of secrets.” She stepped closer still, holding the vial up as if to compare it to the tiefling’s face. “But if there’s one thing that we know- it’s that it knows it’s own kind.”
As the tadpole was held close to her, it began to squirm in its enclosure. A hot knife of psychic energy cut through Alyss’s thoughts, forcing her to wince as she suddenly felt the little creature’s panic, pain, and need to escape. By the time she managed to clear her mind, Jaheira had stepped away, looking down at her with a resigned expression.
“You never should have come here, True Soul.”
“I am not… a True… Soul.” Alyss choked out, still struggling to clear the last vestiges of the tadpole’s influence.
“A likely story.” Jaheira scoffed. “Harpers, detain this one. Perhaps there is more we can learn from her.”
Alyss coiled, preparing to spring into action the moment the vines slackened as two Harpers surged forward to seize her.
“Stop!” A high voice demanded.
Movement froze as all eyes turned to a small tiefling child with gold wrapped around one horn and an eye patch over one eye. Alyss’s heart surged as she saw the little thief lord come to her rescue.
“What are you doing? She’s the one who saved us!” Mol demanded.
Jaheira recoiled slightly. “She’s the one who protected the Emerald Grove?”
“Yup!” Mol grinned. “Didn’t leave a goblin standing. Not so bad to hang around with either. Saved two of my friends, one from a harpy and one from a mad druid with a snake! She didn’t even mind our little thieving racket!”
The Harpers’ eyes remained on Mol, with a mix of disbelief and confusion. Jaheira’s frown deepened as she considered Alyss with new eyes.
“I pretty much trust her with my life.” Mol finished with a little shrug, as if her revelation was no big deal.
“How is that True Soul has a mind of her own?” Jaheira asked, some of the suspicion leaving her tone.
Shit, Alyss thought. There was little point in lying. Jaheira had been running an underground heroes guild of mercenaries, thieves, and legitimate do gooders for far longer than Alyss had been alive. With a resigned sigh, she flicked the artefact out of her belt pouch.
“I have a little help.” She admitted, flipping the polyhedral device to Jaheira. She caught it in her right hand, her left still holding the little jar with a tadpole. Behind her, Alyss could feel Shadowheart’s glare on her back and the small hiss of anger as she so readily gave up the device. There was time to smooth that over later.
As soon as the artefact was in Jaheira’s hand, something strange happened. The little tadpole in the jar began to scream, writhing and twisting until it popped like a balloon. Jaheira glanced at it with a raised eyebrow, her equivalent of a shout of surprise.
“What in the Hells is that thing?” She asked.
“Your guess is as good as mine.” Alyss said, honestly. In for a copper, in for a gold, she thought as she launched into a short explanation of what she knew of the artefact- which was admittedly little.
All the while Jaheira’s eyebrow slowly inched further up her forehead. When the tale was finished, she groaned, finally releasing the spell around Alyss’s feet.
“I’ll not pretend to understand it, but I am old and wise enough to recognize a sliver of hope when it crawls out of the dark.” With a hand gesture, she dismissed her archers, allowing Alyss to breathe for the first time since she had walked across the bridge.
“Tell me, why have you come here?”
“I think that is a discussion best had with an ale and something to eat.” Alyss replied. “Suffice to say we’re here to help. We know what you’re up against.”
Jaheira smiled. It was the sort of grin a small bird might expect to see from a cat the moment before it lunged. “I doubt that, but I appreciate it. There is wine and food in the inn. I would invite you to make yourselves at home and join me for a drink.”
“That is more appreciated than you know.” Alyss replied with a slight bow of her head.
Jaheira nodded before turning and striding off back toward the large, slightly dilapidated building where the Harpers had made their headquarters.
“That was close! I thought they were going to turn you into a pincushion there.” Mol remarked, stepping up to Alyss’s side.
Despite herself, or perhaps in spite of the tension easing from her shoulders, Alyss laughed. It started in her chest, and slowly spread across her, until she was nearly doubled over, racked with half laughs, half sobs.
“You alright?” Mol asked, voice tinged with concern. “I saved your arse and now you’re laughing like a maniac. Don’t tell me the shadows have driven you mad as well.”
“I’m quite alright, Mol.” Alyss said as she regained her breath. “Thank you for the rescue, that was closer than you know.” “Ah, pish. We thieves gotta look out for each other, right?”
“Right.” Alyss replied. She glanced up at the inn with weary eyes before looking back at her equally tired companions. “Come on. I need a drink.”

Rebels is my favorite piece of Star Wars media, period. The storytelling and characters in that show is Star Wars at its best and I will accept no slander.
I saw so many people saying terrible stuff about Rebels on another social media and I just wanna say that it's still the most complete and fulfilling Star Wars to me. The Ghost crew is the best team we ever had to the point I can't even choose a favorite sometimes. The way it deals with loss and family is so beautiful. Ezra Bridger is the most well written protagonist of the franchise. The way everything converges into the battle for the soul of his home planet is PERFECT, it's unforgettable. JEDI NIGHT is the biggest gut punch, nothing can prepare you for it even if you watched it knowing what happens in the end. I've watched this show many times and every time it was extremely rewarding and it is THAT GOOD. Every writer, animator, director, voice actor, artist COOKED REALLY FUCKING HARD.

I think the funniest thing about watching Game Changer and Dropout in general is you get to a point where something like this comes up in an episode and you go “that’s wild.” But like, so is the rest of the episode so it fits, ya know?
Then you run across the same clip out in the wild , devoid of context and the last thirty minutes of other crazy shit happening, and suddenly it hits you just how WILD Game Changer is. And I think that’s beautiful.
id tag game changer spoilers but what does that even mean at this point

"If you use em dash in your works, it makes them look AI generated. No real human uses em dash."
Imaging thinking actual human writers are Not Real because they use... professional writing in their works.
Imagine thinking millions of people who have been using em dash way before AI becomes a thing are all robots.
