I want to know what other transgender people think about the idea of ftm lesbians or mtf gays.
I use the label transman to identify myself because I find it helps people understand what I want/who I am better than saying I am non-binary. When I say I am a transman it signals to a person to use he/him for me, tells them to see me more masculine, and tells them that I am medically transitioning. Maybe it’s also the comfort of it being more “mainstream” than nonbinary—in a way people will understand what I expect to be referred to as better this way.
I also don’t really understand the bug enough difference between transman and transmasc to make it a point to identify as one over the other.
I’ve come to find myself in what might become a relationship with a lesbian and to me I don’t feel any internal contradictions regarding that yet.

Genuine question for antis— if you believe that proship content is wrong because it effects reality, do you believe that for all aspects of fiction? Including horror/gore/violent forms of media? Do you hold the same views for games that involve killing/violence?
If not, what makes proship content unique compared to those other forms of expression?
I personally feel that it might be a feeling of taboo, that they aren’t all that different it is just that sexual themes feel more taboo than violent ones. I also believe our society might be slightly be desensitized towards violence compared to sexual topics, especially considering how religion/purity culture has shaped our current world

I personally feel like this is because the lgbt community, including the trans community, is a lot more misogynistic than we like to admit
The transmasc experience is growing up as a little girl, constantly being told to sit down and shut up, that we're just overly dramatic and hysterical. Then when we transition we get told to sit down and shut up, that we're overly dramatic and hysterical, and not actually oppressed and in fact are privileged! Nothing has fucking changed, in fact it's even worse now than it's ever been!

This is heart breaking to witness and I feel nothing but anger and sadness for trans people in Florida. From what I’ve seen, Florida is making it illegal to have your id display a gender that is not the same as your assigned sex at birth.

I hate a “think about the men” ass feminist.
Most men do not think about women’s wellbeing, stop prioritizing them in your feminism

Is anyone else slightly uncomfortable when women regardless of sexuality call gay men the f slur? It’s a different story between friends but I can’t help but feel a little uncomfortable when I see women do this online. Ik women aren’t traditionally the ones assaulting gay men but it still feels off

To begin this post, I want to clarify that I am not looking to generalize transfems or create any war between trans men and trans women. Ultimately, trans women and trans men share the same fight and we should function like such.
I feel like there are too many transfems who are seen making the most misogynistic statements towards transmen and too many of these times in which no one other than transmen/transmasc people call it out. It is frustrating because I feel when a transman is caught saying transmisogynistic bullshit, transmen, as well as transwomen, call out that behavior, but I almost never see this in the opposite manner.
Additionally, I also notice the general treatment towards transmasc/transmen often comes off like we are walking on thin ice in our own communities. People are often talking about the problem of transmen using terf talking points or referring to their biology in a content they feel matters, but can we also talk about how transwomen do the same shit when they treat us like gender traitors??
I just feel like people in the trans community are really good at calling out inappropriate behavior from transmasc/transmen but not when it comes to transwomen/transfems.

*correction* - the problem with trans man discourse is too many people who aren’t trans men feel the need to comment on subjects they don’t personally understand

Seriously, if you’re not a trans man tf are you in our business for?

I think this post is very important to acknowledge because it highlights the reality for many transmen under patriarchy. Often times people do not advocate enough for trans men because they are men, not realizing that many often live majority of their lives experiencing misogyny. People don’t talk enough about misogyny and how transmen are victims of it just as much as woman are.
In this post she is referencing to the many transmen who present as feminine to do sex work because that is what is in demand.

I used to hate when people would put white before queer to then criticize these people but I’ve come to see why people of color do this.
There are loads of other behaviors white queers exhibit but one I’ve notice more often is this approach they have to believe their own experiences around sexuality and gender are the “correct” ways people should feel about sexuality and gender. They are very aggressive to when it comes to how other queers of color express their experiences with queerness because they are solely concerned with political correctness.
Being white and queer and having experiences stem from that isn’t the issue, it’s the way white queers are quick to center their ideas of queerness and demonize everyone else’s.

I think about this tweet a lot when it comes to the lgbt community. I feel like I often do see misogyny get dismissed because many in the community are trying to equalize the experiences of men and women to make them seem more similar, in an attempt to underscore that trans and cis people are the same because cis men and cis women are on equal footing.
“Don’t say that all men are bad!! What about trans/queer men?”
Do you have the same energy with people of color when we say we hate all white people? Of course the statement isn’t personal, it is a generalization of the oppression we receive from white people. So why does the lgbt community often expect women to fix their language when talking about their own oppression?

I hate how some trans men will try and assert themselves into the “I hate cis men” statement by demanding that they are included to. Like when they ask women to include them so that they feel like they are identical to cis men but the statement “I hate men” is referring to the systematic and social oppression men have subjected women to for basically all of history. The reality is that trans men do not, on a massive enough scale, oppress women the way cis men have. We don’t have the power to do that. We have the ability to be misogynistic but so do women. Historically most trans men would have lived lives primarily being perceived as women and therefore could not gain the kind of power over women cis men have.
Even if all trans men in the world passed I still don’t believe that we would hold the same oppressive position over women the way cis men do.

My least favorite transman stereotype is the yaoi obsessed girl to transman pipeline. I don’t understand how simply for the fact you transitioned it now means that all your past actions are now only through the lens of your current gender. If you were a woman before and found yourself obsessed with gay relationships what made you different from a woman who is a supposed fetishizer? Is it not the same??
