CALLING ALL WRITERS! - Quill Games to Ensue!
Think Survivor, Hunger Games, and Hell’s Kitchen but for writers! I’ll be in need of twelve writers of varying experience–beginner, this can be your debut, or expert with twenty years experience and four published books. It’s up to you!
With a butt ton of challenges at the ready, contestants will compete in biweekly challenges testing and improving their individual writing skills and collaborative skills. You'll work alongside fellow Tumblr users to create one work and you'll compete against your fellow Tumblr users for a writers prize. What prize you ask?
You're competing for a free editor/collaborator/listener of long rants about stories, attract readers to your story (whatever your story may be), and free resources and experience from English courses about writing in various formats. (Nothing in this entire thing will ever cost money, like ever. I don't feel like dealing with that.)
There will be six to twelve contestants but don't fret! We're in need of three to five editors, those who want to personally work/help the six to twelve contestants. If neither of these options tickle your fancy, allow me to introduce you to the audience. (unlimited number of audience members, within reason)
Imagine a theatre and you, as an audience member, will vote and provide beta reader worthy feedback on contestant works. You'll have a week to do this and works will be divided between audience members, so your feedback had better be good if others are going to vote properly. No one will be required to read every contestants work but you will have to read quite a few in a week.
If you don't like reading AND writing, this game might not be for you. If you'd like more information, click the application in the form of a google form (hehehe). You may fill out the google form and subsequently agree to the imaginary terms and conditions. (They actually aren't quite so imaginary but they're not as long as game terms and conditions or the apple terms and conditions. No souls will be sold, as a moral obligation.)
I've bolded everything important throughout the application (and this post, to be honest). You may skip over everything else, there may be some overlapping commentary in the application and the email that will be sent if your application is accepted.
Emails won't be sent out until there are enough contestants, editors, and audience members. If you have any special questions, comments, or concerns, just shoot me an email.
In Anticipation,
Regine Thomas Tumblr Arse | With (His) Spunk [email protected]

*draft of an excerpt from the first Queen of Echoria's memoir - Doesn't account for time appropriate language cause I'm not there yet*
How we became royalty
Darius and I never thought we would see the end of the war. We fought in hope we could claim the surface back from those monsters, but I don't think either of us really believed we would live to see it end. Never thought our accomplishment - our survival - would place us in charge of establishing a new order. I, for one, would have planned for something else. Anything else.
The last two years were stolen from us by necessity. Darius and I have hardly seen each other in that time. I really wished he would take it easier while he's recovering, though I suppose he feels the same about me. Our injuries may very well keep aching for the rest of our lives, and they shall be a reminder of what we accomplished, of what we survived.
For the first time in known history, humans have united under a single banner. I'm not sure when it happened; somewhere along the last years, people started calling me a Queen, of all things. Darius is also being proclaimed King. I do wonder who put such ideas in the public's head. Generals, commanders, leaders, I could accept, but monarchs? Us? For better or worse, Darius will return tomorrow and the next day will see us crowned monarchs of Echoria. Many of those who helped us through the war will assist in shaping the future of a free humanity. It's a daunting task, though I can think of worse people for it; when it comes to someone better... I wish I could think of a single person who survived the war - Eliha was more qualified than I could ever hope...
In hindsight, we should have scouted political candidates from the beginning. If only we planned for the aftermath, then Darius and I wouldn't be the ones doing this.
I wonder if he knows who is behind these rumours; it's too late to avoid coronation now, but I would like some words. First, the beginning of the Haddarian era is a ridiculous idea. I understand Haddarius doesn't roll of the tongue very well; I don't think we need an era named after us. We united humankind, reclaimed the surface and repelled the Iraezu.
It is the beginning of an era, but who knows what comes next? Will we accomplish great things like lasting peace, or will we grow into tyrants? History might learn the answer, long after we're gone...
I wonder what will remain of humanity's scars. After being at the whims and mercy of the Iraezu for so long, I can only hope our descendants never become the kind of monsters they were; enslaving and butchering people, using them as vessels to breed more horrors. I will never forget those children's terrible eyes and will fear seeing them for as long as I live.
Still, I lay awake at night, wondering how do we best prevent our descendants from repeating the mistakes of our past? Do we shield them from it and hope such horrors never occurs to them? Do we teach them about the past and hope they never weaponize the knowledge? How can I ensure my descendants never become the monsters I spent most of my life fighting?
