Big tbh: I have a friend who appreciates everything I write even tho I think its bad, and they truly enjoy hearing my ideas and seeing new stuff that I put up on this blog. I couldn't ask for a better person to share my ideas with, and to be honest they make me feel so much better.

theres something very funny about people writing these rich and detailed backstories for dnd characters as if the characters aren’t gonna still be level 1 when they start
“my elf has been alive for a thousand years and has won ten thousand battles!!!” you’re still level 1 aint ya i guess you those ten thousand battles you won werent all that hard to win

The most deadly mistake one can make is believing they can turn Papa II against Papa III. They can't and won't, Papa II, despite being an ass, is staunchly loyal to his brother. He won't sell him out, he won't throw him under the bus and he sure as hell wouldn't maim or kill him.

When you have- Rats???
"So, you guys are popes except instead of Chri-"
"Silence, we do not speak that name within this cathedral."
Papa I hissed midway from taking another bite of his eggs. The breakfast table was full as there were plates of bacon, eggs, toast, and waffles set out to dig into. Peter swallowed his bacon as he cleared his throat. "So, you guys are popes for Satan?"
He asked as Nihil nodded and passed Papa III a waffle. Papa II wore a bright pink apron as he was still within his pajama pants and shirt, finally taking his seat amongst the family. "We spread the message of Lucifer...that is all." Papa II said thoughtfully before running his hand through Carly's head and messing it up before chuckling. The young woman had a mug of coffee within her hands as she snorted.
"Today the Papas are going to be running an important errand. Can we trust you both to stay here within the cathedral and keep an eye on Copia?"
Papa III asked as his brothers rolled their eyes with Copia stabbing his fork into his eggs, pretending it was the the youngest pope staring up at him. Peter suddenly had an idea as he nudged Carly and whispered into her ear: "Want to try out the sick instruments while they're gone, they'll never know."
She turned to face him while the others were distracted and smirked. But before she could reply, Copia's wrinkled face was between them as he wrapped his arms around them both, causing them both to gasp out startled and nearly knock their plates off of the rounded table.
"Actually my dears, all three of us have a special errand to run as well. A gig today actually…"
Then the rat man gave an evil smirk, before maniacally laughing as he lifted them both up and walked them to the cathedral where a group of rats were gathered. The short, nimble man gave them both a guitar as Nihil was standing behind them with a saxophone in hand. "You see, if you want to be part of Ghost, you must be able to make music, for any audience!"
Peter was confused. He stared at the group of rats staring back at them before Carly hinted at him to play as Copia began to sing one of the many songs of their band. Nihil gave both young adults a shrug, before playing a long as the two got in tune with Copia. It was the first of their series of musical training under the eyes and ears of Cardinal Copia, even if the audience were Copia's rats.

I know it’s not the exact term BUT-
I like to imagine if Copia gets papal robes, they’ll be just a little bit too big on him. He’ll stand on stage with his arms slightly out stretched, look at the sleeves and the bottom of them, and just sort of shrug.

Ghostly holidays.
The group of three were preparing for their special mass during the holiday season, arranging candles around the cathedral while the dark one's altar was decorated with yuletide symbols and foliage from the local fir trees. The ghouls were also helping as Copia was desperately trying to guide them, but instead received tongues being stuck out within his direction.
Carly chuckled softly as she watched, before returning to decorating the altar. Papa II stuck close by to her, still worried for her mental health taking a toll since their reuniting within the small, run down coffee shop. He knew that she couldn't return to her family for the holidays, but hoped that he and his brothers could make the following days easier on her.
There was a knock at the two large doors as it echoed throughout the many chambers. Papa I answered as he looked out, seeing nobody as he was perplexed before hearing a cough coming from below. "Excuse me, sir, I…may I take shelter here for the night?"
The older man stared down to see a short, nervous looking figure bundled within an over sized hoodie. Outside, the air was nippy and it was nearly twenty below within the dark, starless night. Quickly he ushered them in as he immediately closed the large door and crouched to the person's height with his robes flowing down with him. "What is your name? Do you know that this is the Dark one's church?"
He asked as the person nodded, drawing their hood down as a pair of green eyes looked up. "I do, that's why I came. I'm…" they paused, a nervous look crossing their freckled face. "I'm transgender, and the shelters wouldn't let me in. I heard that you guys accepted everybody."
As they spoke, the old priest suddenly has a look of sorrow across his face as he wrapped an arm around their shoulders and lead them down the aisle. "Well we do accept everybody, and no one should ever be left out within the cold of winter, ever."
Copia suddenly walked over towards both as he had a look of frustration upon his face. "The ghouls won't listen! They're frustrating me to the point  of-" he suddenly paused as glass shattering could be heard. The person draped within Papa I's long sleeve nervously chuckled.
"I don't need much, I'll probably just stay the night and-"
"Stay for the holidays, we have an open chamber and you can attend mass." He smiled to them before rushing over to access the situation brewing. They stood between the benches as they suddenly took a seat and leaned back, sighing in relief that they were finally out of the cold. The cathedral was surprisingly warm, illuminated by candle light as a piano was being played softly by Papa III. Carley took notice of the new person as she eased herself away from Papa II and stopped next to the occupied seat, dressed in all black while her wavy hair was tied back.
"Hey, is there anything you need?" She asked as the person looked up. They shook their head, and shyly looked away. Papa II watched the two interact, his gaze protective of Carly.
"I...I got kicked out when I came out as a guy and now I gotta find somewhere to stay."
He half heartedly chuckled as Carly frowned. "Huh, I got kicked out too but for different reasons. You're welcomed to stay for as long as you need, the Papas wouldn't mind." She replied before taking a seat next to him and offering a candy cane. He gingerly took it as he undid the wrapper and took it into his mouth like a cigarette.
"So, you guys seem nicer then the other churches I've been in."
He said before extending his hand out for her to shake. "I'm Peter." He introduced himself as Carly shook his hand. "Nice to meet you then, I'm Carley and those are my.." she paused for a moment. "-Those are my uncles, but they prefer to be called Papa." She chuckled as Peter listened, a look of discomfort on his face as he reached under his hoodie to adjust his binder. A ghoul suddenly popped over as they cleared their throat. "Sir, if you would like we have a washing machine and shower. New clothes shall be provided for you courtesy of Papa I and Copia."
With that said, the ghoul lead the young man down the halls of the large building as they came to the bathroom. Before Peter could ask, the ghoul provided soap and the clothing as if he had drawn it from thin air. Peter took it and thanked them before going to shower. When he had finished, he found himself dressed in a pair of black dress pants and a cashmere black sweater that smelled sweetly. His old clothing was already gone but a new binder was provided that was surprisingly more comfortable then the ace bandages he had used.
Peter found himself attending mass as he sat beside his newfound friend Carly. As he looked around, he could take sight of a variety of people. There was truth to Papa I's words after all, the cathedral discriminated against no one. Papa II performed a sermon of self encouragement and love before the choir of ghouls with Copia leading began to sing with Papa III playing the organ. In unison their voices were beyond anything that Peter had ever heard singing a hyme to the Dark one, before Copia suddenly smirked as he whistled, signaling the ghouls to change course as they all began to sing Jingle Bell Rock. Papa I and II were beyond horrified as their expressions told it all, as Papa III continued to play as he grinned ear to ear.
Carly patted Peter's shoulder. "You're so going to enjoy it here."
---------------
I know it's late for the holidays but I just had to write this, especially with how it brought some comfort recently. Also for context, and slight spoilers: Carly is a young woman that Papa II see's as a child still after helping her as a little girl. He had taken her in after she was kicked out by her grandparents for her deceased parents' beliefs. She refers to the brothers as her uncles.

Confessions and gingerbread cookies part two.
The old pope took a sip of coffee while sitting within the small cafe, mildering over the night before concert. He was contempt with having this small brake to himself, with no Copia to supervise nor the annoyance of his younger brother. It was just himself, in a comfortable black knitted sweater and his aviator shades to protect his sensitive eyes from the dim light.
That all changed however when his pointed ears jerked up to a loud squeak from the chair across from him. He lowered his shades to see a familiar sight and his grouchiness from the sudden intrusion had faded away. "Hey Papa, late night? I got the job here awhile back and I wanted to say hello but it seemed you wanted to be alone."
It was the girl he had first met within the confession booth, and the one he had helped by making an appearance at her school and having a talk with the bullies. He was tall and intimidating within his robes and make up. But now here she was, all grown up with short, half shaved hair with piercings adorning her face. But in his eyes, she was still the timid, sweet little girl he had met all those years ago.
"Oh cara, it had been so long...Papa's memory is slowly fading, I'm afraid." He softly chuckled. Carly smiled, nostalgic memories returning to her of the pope having helped her confront her tormentors, leading mass and giving the attendees courage to be themselves and to find their inner truths. Now he was before her, pale and looking years older without the make up upon his face.
"How have you been? Sorry I couldn't attend mass last week, my grandparents found out that I still carried my parents' faith and there was a huge argument." She sighed as Papa's eyes widened beneath his dark lenses. "What do you mean argue? And where are your parents? I haven't seen them for a long time. Maybe you should confess to Papa, over a…"
"Plate of gingerbread cookies?"
Carly asked with a small chuckle, a smile playing upon her lips. Papa nodded, but then asked when her shift was over. She thought for a moment, and looked to the clock on the wall. "Not for another hour I'm afraid. But, I promise to try and make it to mass tomorrow. Right now I gotta get back on my shift."
But when she stood up, the room suddenly froze as Papa held his ungloved hand up. The world around them stood still as his eyes met hers. He then stood up as he laced his hands together behind himself and stared down with his one blue eye staring. Carly gulped, but then remembered that the Satanic popes had Demonic powers, or as it was told amongst the members of the cathedral. With the same hand he beckoned a plate to summon itself, filled with the same recipe of gingerbread cookies that III had always made around the holidays.
Both sat down, and Carly was more then relieved to be able to tell the current Papa her troubles, including being homeless due to her grandparents having kicked her out.  She was couch surfing, and felt ashamed for it. But papa had other plans for her, especially due to the fact that her parents were prominent members. And in within his old eyes, she was still the little girl he had met within the confession booth. "Come back to the cathedral, cara. Where you belong, instead of working this job while having nowhere to call home."
She swallowed her pride, accepting his offer. But was also wary of why he was extending his hand to her despite the fact that they had only been face to face so many years ago. But there was also the mystery of her parents, what they had meant to Papa II...why he was prominent within their lives…
Her train of thought was cut short when Fratello pulled her up by the arm. He had already pulled on his leather jacket, and lead her out of the tiny coffee shop while life within resumed with the wave of his hand.
