I used this particular drawing base as a structure guide, with some pose adjustment :D It's pretty refreshing to not use my brain fully once in a while, to be honest ;w; also tried new coloring method since I finally found another brush that I like and have a feeling I will use it quite often lmao

I usually record my own art process for reference in the future, and now I'm sharing it to everyone as well! Hope you like it ^^ ↓↓↓

Hitsuhina Gift Exchange 2022 @hitsuhina-week for @rays-of-fire-and-ice

I frequently find myself thinking about the panels where hitsuguya returns to the battlefield clad in quincy uniform and they make eye contact, as well as him reaching his mature form saying, “I don’t really like this form at all”, and the byakuya commenting on his bankai taking a heavy toll on his body (after helping rukia). TYBW was pretty rushed, so I decided to draw a “missing moment” - a tearful reunion on the battlefield, hinamori catching an exhausted hitsuguya who has reached his limit. I hope you like it, thank you for organizing this, i can’t wait to read all of the fics and look at all of the art ♡ ⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙

hello, sorry idk if this was asked before but, what are your favorite(s) trope(s) and AU(s)? Do you enjoy, feel more comfortable, to write the cannon or au stories? and, what would be the different ships from your comfort zone that you think could work, in your opinion?

Hi there! I have been asked a few times but in short:

AUs: I'm actually not a big fan of AUs, so I don't often read them unless they have something that really grabs me. I only write for my modern artist AU where Hitsugaya is an ice sculptor and Hinamori is an artist, and @tinaillustrations fae AU.

So in answer to the other part of your question, I'm most comfortable writing canon fanfics. Specifically, I like to write 'missing scenes', where something is implied to have happened or could have very likely happened but was never shown to the reader/viewer. I also like 'what-if' scenarios that can be canon-divergent.

Fave tropes: I did a tier list of tropes here if you want to check that out, but my absolute faves are hurt/comfort, angst, childhood friends to lovers, the grumpy one x the sunshine one, friends to lovers, fluff, slow burn, and missing scenes.

Ships: aside from Hitsuhina, I think Renruki, Ichihime, Ishihime, Rukihime, and HyourinmaruxTobiume work really well together - in fact I'm certain if Hitsuhina wasn't my OTP, I'm sure Renruki would be. However, I also casually like Ichiruki, Grimmichi, Shuuran, and Ginran. I have an endless list of brOTPs as well, but as you specified ships only I won't mention them here. There aren't many ships I dislike, most of the time I'm either neutral towards or they're just not my thing.

HITSUHINA WEEKEND

Let's kick off 2022 with a weekend dedicated to Hitsuhina!!

For the first time we'll be celebrating the ship over a weekend with a choice of four themes per day:

Saturday January 8th: Ice skating / Cooking / Lilac / A rainy day

Sunday 9th January: Domestic bliss / Transformation / Winter sun / Battle

* January 10th is also included for time-zone purposes

If your theme suggestion didn't make it for this event fear not! It'll likely be used in either Hitsuhina Day or Hitsuhina Week later in the year. If you're not familiar with events like this or aren't sure what the rules are, please read below the 'keep reading' to read the guidelines and rules for the weekend.

Otherwise, I hope to see all of your submissions in two weeks time!

Rules & Guidelines:

You can submit as many pieces as you want. It can just be one submission based on one or more of the themes, a few submissions each based on one or more of the themes, or you can take up the ultimate challenge great a single single submission that incorporates all of the themes; it’s totally up to you!

Tag your submission/s with either ‘#hitsuhina weekend’ or ‘#hitsuhina weekend 2022’ to be included in the event.

Submissions can be fanart, fanfiction, edits, metas, AMVs, gif sets,  and/or headcanons.

Submissions should include the name of the event (Hitsuhina Weekend) and the theme/s you are basing your submission on either in the description or author’s note.

Your submission should not be a tracing or copy of an existing artwork or fanfiction. Any entries that are will not be included  as part of Hitsuhina Weekend. As such, your submissions should an original work by you. For edits and AMVs, do not use fanart (unless it’s your own) as part of the submission.

Give credit where it is needed (such as a link and the OP’s name to a stock image or reference for drawings, or to photos for edits/aesthetic/mood boards).

You can create as many pieces as you want for any of the six themes.

Mature content isn’t allowed.

You may include other characters in the pieces, but the focus should be Hitsuhina. Of course, this is a day to celebrate Hitsuhina, not to undermine or bash on other characters/pairings. Any submissions with this will not be included as part of the event.

No problem anon, I'm glad you like reading them.

Life's been busy lately, but I definitely have a few I'm working on. Most are unfinished ones from Two Weeks of Hitsuhina 2021, and one is a request from months ago (was working on it until I jumped on here).

Also while I'm here, I haven't forgotten to make a post regarding what the next Hitsuhina event will be, I'm hoping to have that post out sometime in the next two weeks.

Here's a few fic previews, please feel free to provide any feedback or comments:

Our Home (request)

“How do you feel about a mushroom and leek broth tonight?” she asks without stopping.

Toshiro is behind her, tending the fruits part of the garden. “What with?”

“Soba noodles and…maybe fish?”

He shrugs. “I can go get the fish after we’re done here.”

She remembers a time when she first started this garden when he’d use any excuse to not garden. To be fair, she’d started when the heat was rising, and just as the sky was blue, Toshiro did not cope well with the heat. However, the day she brought home watermelon seeds, it seemed he’d made his mission to grow his favorite fruit. Sometimes she’d catch him in the early hours of the morning out in the garden, tending to the watermelon plant. He’d brush it off, saying he thought he’d heard an animal and worried all of her hard work would come undone if they’d got into the garden. She’d yet to see any animals come close to the home, but they’d put up a fence just to be safe.

“You don’t have to,” I was planning to go to the Junrinan anyway to...” She trails off when Toshiro makes a startled sound.

“What is it?” she asks.

“Come see for yourself.”

Before the Dawn of War

Only a few lights are on outside, but the crescent moon is bright enough to illuminate her path. Momo doesn’t have a particular destination in mind, just letting herself wonder around where she feels like. In the past, she’d only caught a glimpse of Seireitei at this time of the night – once when she’d come back from a mission in the World of Living, another time when she had to help Rangiku get back to her quarters after drinking too much – but each time she’d noticed the stillness and almost silence all around her. It’s normally quiet, save for the few Shinigami who are still out for one reason or another.

Tonight though, save for her footsteps, it’s completely silent. There’s no wind to rattle the lanterns or flag signs along the walls, and no Shinigami wondering around. Despite sensing all the reiatsu around her and her zanpakuto at her side, Momo feels alone.

It’s not helped when she comes upon wreckage that had yet to be cleared. Two walls were half destroyed, and the surrounding buildings were in only slightly better condition. With a shuddering breath, she’s quick to turn on her heel and go down another path. How was any of this fair? They’d just come out of a war and were thrust into another one with no time to fully recover.

She halts when a pulse of reiatsu comes from one of the joint training grounds. She frowns and looks in its direction. Hitsugaya-kun?

At the Root of it All

The dragon lowers his head, coming to closer to the captain. Then let me rephrase. Why do you care about her?

“You know the answer to that already.”

There are some parts of you I cannot fully comprehend, Master. I need to hear you say it.

Toshiro lowers his head. Memories of happier times with Momo come to mind, but they don’t give him the usual burst of nostalgia. His heart aches, a small part of him wishing he could go back to those times and be completely oblivious to what his future held. He also wonders if he had teased or shrugged her off too much. Did any of his remarks hurt her and he never realized? Should he have done more to apologize to her when he upset her?

“She was the strangest person I knew back then,” he remarks. “She was never afraid of me. The qualities about me that made people scared of me…she saw them differently. She called me a ‘friend’, she wanted to do things together. She even thought we’d both go to the Academy. Even so, before I knew your name, I had no intention of becoming a Shinigami. I watched her go to Academy, thinking she’d never come back and that I’d never go to her.”

Berry Much (inspired by @tinaillustrations art)

He’d thought it was an odd suggestion from the start.

“You want to go to…a strawberry farm?”

Momo nodded enthusiastically. “It’s spring in that part of the World of the Living, so it won’t be too hot for you.”

Toshiro looked down at the pamphlet again. Come and pick your own strawberries, fresh from the plant!! And don’t forget to stop by our shop for our famous strawberry foods and merchandise! He and Momo had managed align their schedules to get a short break together. Momo hadn’t been to the World of the Living for years, so Toshiro told her to pick somewhere and they’d go for a daytrip. This is not what he’d expect her to pick. “Why this?”

“I thought it would be a nice change of pace. Plus, I’ve been craving strawberries lately.”

And so here they were, crouching in the dirt with a cloudless, blue sky above them, and rows of strawberries as far as the eye could see.
