Been thinking about Ellie, after. Going back to Jackson with an infected finger and half a pinky. She sleeps in Joel’s bed, when she’s let out of the clinic. Goes to his grave, daily and then weekly. Sings to him, relearns the guitar left-handed. She and Dina reconnect, slowly. She sees JJ a few weeks later, and he’s 3 and when Dina says, “there’s mom,” Ellie almost cries.

She reaches out to Tommy after months in town. Maybe he lets her inside. Maybe she tells the truth. Maybe he shuts the door in her face before she can even try to lie…

Been thinking about Ellie converting, after. *Faith through pain*. Talking to the rabbi at Jackson’s church/synagogue/mosque/shrine (it’s multipurpose, there’s a schedule).

Been thinking about how Ellie lives, after. It’s sad and happy and joyful and she carries Joel with her, always. He’s with her in every breath she takes, just, in the pure fact that she’s there drawing breath and I……..

oh, but she does. she's going to learn how to swim. she's going to fly to the moon on her sixteenth birthday. she's going to have her first kiss and her first girlfriend and she's going to dance with this beautiful girl she's in love with and kiss her in front of everyone. she's going to see dinosaur fossils and draw and play guitar and serenade her girlfriend with old classics taught to her by her father. she's going to have friends and she's going to have an uncle and a community and her room and her music and her hobbies. she's going to outlive her dad like most kids do. she's going to lose herself and find herself back and she's going to have a home to come back to and she's going to have a life.

Honestly my biggest thought is "whatever happened to actually putting the player in during great events?" Because this is twice now we've had a time jump where a bunch of crazy shit has happened in between games instead of during them. Apparently Antiva is now occupied by the Qunari? Like, holy shit, when and how did that happen???

Hi hello the old guard have been playing DnD since it became a thing, they just think it's really fun, Andy ALWAYS names her characters Quynh or Lykon and no one can stop her, Booker has refused to play a bard so far but Joe is wearing him down, and Joe ALWAYS DMs. He's good at math, story telling, improv, AND accents. Nicky tries to kiss up to him on his characters behalf all the damn time, but in this and only this Joe is a stone cold fox who doesn't play favorities.

They've had one campaign going since the start, they've all had at least 6 characters, Andy's had nine, and Joe just keeps expanding the world. Quynh (who has been watching via Booker for 3 decades) is so excited to join the party. Nile makes her first druid a few weeks after Merrick's, and Booker is only allowed to call them for weekly sessions.
