the trailer looks fine, but i can’t help but wish this sequel was less about tog fighting some random immortal big bad and more about them reconnecting with quynh. who was the undisputed heart and soul of the first movie, imo. because as fun as foiling an unknown immortal’s villainous plan through an actiony romp is, ideally it would be more of a background thing, whilst the main plot of QUYNHandyjoenicky unravelling 500 years of resentment, rage, and guilt (and on andy on quynh’s part, resolving their lesbian divorce) is at the forefront. & ik the franchise obviously wasn’t going to suddenly change genres for a sequel, but i wanna see em to untangle all those long held resentments alongside all the bang and boom, not just go through the motions of another unremarkable netflix action film. unfortunately the addition of yet another immortal in an already large cast and the editing of the trailer is making me think this film will be more of the latter.
