“Mirage” reference sheet - This was a fun side project I worked on. Making a character to fit into the world of “Overwatch.” I had this idea for a sniper class that, instead of mobility like Widowmaker, or Utility like Hanzo, Mirage could use stealth. The only gimmick is it’s for a limited time, and he has to stay stationary in order for it to be active. His story-in-a-nutshell goes like this; The arabian deserts have been long war torn areas for the fight over oil, despite the rest of the world advancing to the future. Mirage’s father was a hopeful engineer on finding more potent and effective ways to utilize natural “green” energy, in hopes to quell the conflicts. But to do that, he needed to prove to militaries and armies that oil wasn’t worth fighting over. So he developed “clean weaponry” as a result. Unfortunately before it could reach frutition, his labs were raided, and he himself, kidnapped. The marksman hunter “Mirage” is now on a manhunt for his father, and the forces that seized him. Using the technology his father developed, the assailants will never see him coming...

Concept process for the “Lightning Knight” for Project Vanguards, the gamedev project for Byu 2016. This one was a challenge cuz using too strong of lightning motifs gave for more of a superhero feel than an actual “knight.” Not to mention all the knights had to use roughly the same rig, so there wasn’t much flexibility with body type. I didn’t get to model the guy due to time and UI work, but it was fun to pick up the torch on this one while the other artists were doing their finals!

Concepts for the “Cannon Knight” for BYU’s Gamedev project for 2016. The final image is some rough paintovers of what the final skin could look like. I wasn’t on the character design team cuz I was assigned to the UI work, but still wanted to do some stuff with characters.
