A WLW Bluesey drabble done by @gansey-just-gansey to get you all in the mood!

Fall was Blue’s favorite time of year. The cool weather, the warm drinks, the pleasant colors that couldn’t quite be matched by an artist’s brush. There was no part of it she didn’t like.

Waking up in Richelle Gansey’s bed was kind of like that.

Long arms bracketed Blue, keeping her pinned against Gansey’s warm body under the many blankets and pillows that were bunched up on the bed. They were snarled up around Blue’s legs, making it difficult to maneuver out of them without waking Gansey. She almost made it out, but the sheet around her ankles didn’t want to let go. With a slightly too animated kick, she finally got it off, but it jostled Gansey a little too much and she began to stir.

“Blue?” she groaned sleepily, rubbing her eyes.

“Sorry. I was having trouble getting out of this nest you’ve made,” Blue said, gesturing to the tangled mess Gansey was still wrapped in.

“Then don’t get out. Come back to bed.” Gansey opened her arms for Blue to fit herself into again. A tempting offer, but one she had to refuse.

“I can’t, I have to get ready for the day. Rowan and Ada will be waiting for us,” Blue said regretfully. She rolled off the bed, to Gansey’s obvious chagrin.

Blue’s girlfriend was many things. Smart, selfless, brave, and encouraging. She loved every single thing about Gansey, but unfortunately, being organized was not on the list.

Papers littered every surface of the room, causing Blue to slip on the ones that covered the floor often. Shoes without matches were clustered in corners. Nail polish was left open on the nightstand. And clothes. So many pieces of clothing, thrown in every direction, as though Gansey were a tornado that touched down on the bed, leaving it the only part of the room undestroyed. Until she got into it, anyway.

Blue left her clothes on a chair in the corner so she would always be able to find her things in the morning without having to ransack the whole place. A snarl of soft, fluffy fabric caught her ankle as she crossed to get dressed, nearly taking her down. The nearby dresser was her unlikely savior, allowing her to stay upright. Muttering about messy girlfriends and being late to meet friends, she untangled herself from the offending item, a fuzzy blue sweater. A couple sizes too big for Gansey, several sizes too big for Blue, it was thick and warm.

Blue was always cold, and the clothes she’d brought were thin. She shrugged and pulled the sweater on, pushing up the sleeves so her hands were free, the extra fabric bunching up around her wrists. It fell to her thighs, like a dress. Looking in the mirror on the back of the closet door, she thought something was missing. A belt Gansey wore yesterday was still looped in her pants; Blue slipped it off and cinched it around her own waist. Much better.

“Is that my sweater?” Gansey asked, still laying in the bed. Her voice had an annoyed tone, but her eyes were laughing. “And my belt.”

“They were, mine now.”

“You’re always stealing my clothes. I should get something in recompense.”

“You’re free to try on mine,” Blue said. She bunched up her outfit from the chair and tossed it in Gansey’s face.

Gansey held up Blue’s tiny white crop top. “You want me to wear this? These are children’s clothes.” Her eyebrows raised skeptically.

“Watch it,” Blue warned. “Just try it on.”

Gansey sighed but complied, pulling on the crop top and long, green skirt. Well, it was long on Blue. On her very tall girlfriend, it fell to just below the knees. A lot more of her midriff showed than when Blue wore the same outfit.

“Oh,” Blue murmured. Her teeth bit into her lower lip as she dragged her eyes down Gansey’s long frame.

“I told you this would be ridiculous.” Gansey moved to strip off the small clothes.

“No,” she said, moving to put her hands around Gansey’s wrists. When she stopped, Blue moved her hands to Gansey’s waist, brushing the warm skin lightly. “You look perfect.”

A smile played around the edges of Gansey’s mouth. “Really? It’s not too much? Or too little, I should say.”

“Absolutely not,” she insisted. “I’ve never seen someone so prone to heart-stopping beauty.”

“You must not look in the mirror often, then.”

Blue laughed softly, tucking a lock of Gansey’s hair behind her ear. Then she pulled Gansey closer and pushed up on her tiptoes for a kiss.

trc wlw week day 4: sparks / calm

liberal arts college au where fine arts student jordan hennessey and marketing student deirdre lynch meet in their art history class (an elective deirdre would never admit she adores). she is quietly fascinated by jordan’s extensive knowledge on john singer sargent and what seems to be all forms of painting medium. intrigued by deirdre’s own mysticism, jordan one day asks her suave classmate, in her attractive gray suit and intricately crafted oxfords, if she would be willing to be jordan’s model for a painting class, and soon finds that deirdre is not quite as stoic as she seems.

Title: Some Sparks Just Don’t Catch (Honest Reflections AU) Ship: Declan/Jordan (Jordeclan) Summary:  

They had plans to meet up with an old friend of Declan’s, who happened to be Gansey’s older sister. Jordan liked Gansey; an eccentric fellow, but the type with a heart of gold who would rather walk into traffic than hurt someone on purpose. Apparently his mum ran the political track too, but played for the other team. Which made Jordan really interested in how Declan and Helen Gansey got on. It had to be pretty decent if she was letting this girl along on their shopping trip, and at least Jordan would have help in convincing Declan to try on whatever her heart desired.

Aka a shameless excuse to give Declan the girls’ day out she deserves.

Declan Lynch had never worn a dress before in her life. Sure, she’d seen Aurora move about in them as if she were made for them, or they for her. It hadn’t even been in the realm of possibility for Declan, so she’d just tucked the observation away underneath all the layers of secrets and went about her business in raven-crested uniforms and suits. Walking into the fundraiser that night, she was glad she’d armed herself with antacids in the little clutch Helen Gansey helped her pick out to go with the dress.

She was terrified.

we started this blog (and yearly event) when the dreamers trilogy wasn’t published yet (which explains the name) but we definitely include the dreamers trilogy too!
