If the Heavenly Virtues ever make an appearance in Hazbin Hotel, it’d be interesting if it turned out that Luicfer was once the Virtue of Humility before his fall
This is assuming the Sins aren’t all fallen angels as well, and were actually demons from the start, making Lucifer the only one of them that was also a Virtue at one point

Alastor and Lucifer butt heads again and their horns get tangled together. Charlie refuses to help them untangle until they make up. This is their natural get along shirt. Make peace or die like the stupid horny deer.

The thing with Alastor is that I think he genuinely does like people. I don't think he cares too much about many individual persons, but when it comes to people as a collective he likes and wants to be liked back.
You don't go into entertainment if you don't want some kind of validation from it, and Alastor got so into radio in life that his soul was moulded around it in death.
And that's fundamentally the source of a lot of the conflict in his character.
Alastor wants to be the feared and hated Radio Demon. But he also wants to be ‘Al, that charming guy from the radio!’
Alastor wants to be treated with respect and terror at all times. But he also wants to have fun and joke around with people.
Alastor wants to keep the reasons for his disappearance a deadly secret. But he also wants to go to the Overlord meeting and have everyone dying to know where he was and what he was doing.
(“And when Alastor's not in the scene, all the other characters should be standing around like ‘hey, where's Alastor?’!”)
This is why Husk, up until he touches that particular sore spot, gets away with so much more in his relationship with Alastor than, say, Angel gets with Valentino.
Val wants Angel to be a tool or a toy he can control. Alastor kind of wants the same from Husk, but he also wants to be able to play the role of the cheeky but charming boss who can talk Husk around with a wink and a bottle of cheap booze.
(A role that Husk, for his part, goes along with because it allows him to keep some of his dignity. He gets to snark at Alastor and act like he still has even the slightest control over his own destiny. Alastor gets to laugh it off and act like he's a good employer. They both know it's a lie, but Husk clings to it because the alternative is even more humiliation, and Alastor finds it too much fun to give up.)
This is also I think the real reason he and Rosie are such good friends. Because Rosie is also 100% playacting.
Cannibal Town is a fucking dangerous place. Given that Charlie considered the “sights to see en route to my hotel” a selling point for joining her army (a hotel in walking distance) I'm guessing there are some restrictions preventing the residents from leaving. People eat corpses in the streets.
Rosie is clearly a fearsome and vicious Overlord in her own right. Even Lucifer's daughter is twitchy around Cannibal Town.
But, at the same time, when the streets aren't covered in blood and viscera, they're gleaming. The people are all well dressed. There are quaint little shops. Everyone is smiling, all the time.
It's clearly a stage play, but it's one that Rosie and the residents seem to enjoy acting out, and one that they let Alastor have a role in when he visits. In Cannibal Town, Alastor gets to be the charming young man about town whose smile brightens up the place and who everybody (except, ugh, Susan) is pals with.
And I think it's this conflict of personas that is ultimately going to be the biggest factor in whether Alastor ends up being a hero or a villain on the show.
Cause like, Alastor the altruist is obviously an act. But, so is the Radio Demon.
Alastor isn't an all powerful killing machine. In most of the scenes he's in, he's not even the most powerful person in the room. (Albeit
primarily because he's usually accompanied by Charlie.) And he's not acting purely on his own whims, he's on someone else's leash.
I don't think Alastor is necessarily capable of feeling remorse for the stuff he's done in the past. Or caring about other people more than he does himself. It's just not his character.
But I think he is capable, given time to get attached and a lot of positive reinforcement, of deciding that playing 'steadfast hotelier' for Charlie and co is more fun than playing the evil Radio Demon for everyone else.
Picking other people over himself is probably not something that's going to happen for Alastor any time soon. But picking one persona over the other? That I could see.

Inspired by the possessive ask mentioning that Lilith could just make Alastor lose all his regard for Lucifer. What if she or whoever owns Radio Demon's soul aren't happy that he is getting too close to the Morningstar family (going so far as to date the King of Hell). What if he is ordered to forget Lucifer and focus on the plan, and he literally forgets almost everything about Lucifer because he can't stop having this tender attachment to the man while he remembers all the little sweet details about him? All these moments of mutual understanding and small talks when Lucifer startled a genuine laugh out of him, gone, slipping between his fingers as he sinks to his knees before his owner. And he remembers *wishing* for this, to getting so attached and weak for someone else, to be free again...and so it should be good that he forgot, right? Why doesn't it feel good? Why does his chest ache like this, it never hurt before, there wasn't anything in there to hurt...

Someone ends up spiking Alastor's drink with some sort of truth serum, and now he can not tell a lie until it wears off. Unfortunately he can't simply hide away, however, since the particular serum used has additional side effect that require for him to be monitored, mainly because one of the ingredients is poppy, which is toxic to deer and nobody is taking any chances on what it can do to deer demons

Within a year of founding the hotel, Alastor transitions from enigmatic figure of mystery to beleagured mom friend, solely because 60% of the time he is the only person in the room who can or bothers to Adult.
Everyone else is too militaristic (Vaggie) or coddled (Charlie) or depressed (Lucifer, Husk) or generally off their rocker (everyone else). And Alastor may be a homicidal maniac, but by God, he's a homicidal maniac with CLASS who was a careerman in life and respected his mama.
He sets up a chore wheel after one too many times of the kitchen sink being left with dishes. Teaches Charlie how to do property taxes. Has a strict hold on the take-out budget so that people HAVE to cook "real food." Confiscates any illicit substances Angel leaves lying around. He doesn't even realize he's doing it, or he does but deludes himself into thinking that it's a manipulation tactic. Mwahaha, see his power as he makes the King of Hell take his antidepressants with a glass of water.
They bring in an ugly, dirty red cat one day and he puts his foot down. It takes an hour of needling and bribery via angelic blood before he reluctantly lays down ground rules. They had better get it vaccinated and neutered before it gets poor KeeKee, and no, they are not naming it Catlastor. Unfortunately that is the only name the cat responds to. The urge to drown his sorrows at the bar is stronger than it has been in decades.
Nothing seems to have changed outside of the hotel, but for some reason Carmilla, a mother herself, feels the strange need to pat the Radio Demon on the shoulder and tell him that it gets easier with time.
for your consideration: the cat is called alastor and he is henceforth referred to as 'human alastor'

All he needed was a bit of domestication 😈
Based on an anonymous ask (IF YOU SEE THIS I'M SORRY I DELETED IT BY ACCIDENT SOB) that shared a headcanon about Rosie kissing Alastor on the cheek platonically european greeting style. In my own headcanon and little scenario I made up in my head, Alastor would be touch averse but willing to accept it with people he's close to and even end up liking it sometimes ehe.
Rosie would be very mindful of his boundaries but ofc during their first years of friendship she would make him uncomfortable by accident sometimes :')

I was thinking of time traveling possessive Lucifer head canon. Lucifer travels in time on purpose or accident and meets human Alastor. Follows Alastor around (kind of stalkerish ) just to get to know him before he became a demon. Eventually they become close and Lucifer begins to fall for Alastor because maybe the human Alastor is more open with his feelings and charming. However, Lucifer gets possessive and jealous whenever Alastor interacts with other people. And this gives him the idea to propose a deal with Alastor, so when he dies, Lucifer will own his soul.

i wanna draw more about her and Alastor building trust, because THIS IS TOO CUTE, BUT I'M TOO BAD AT IT 😭😭 and i still can't decide how they met to start with! I guess i'll have to combine the 2 of my ideas..... OMG I JUST CAME UP WITH THE FUNNIEST THING EVER AHAHAH THIS IS PERFECT

I’m thinking about perfectionism again, specifically with respect to how it can skew your opinion of success and failure.
There’s this concept that comes up a lot when you read about issues like perfectionism: all-or-nothing thinking. It’s a trap that’s easy to fall into.
If you’re a fic writer falling into this trap, you might feel like you’re an absolute failure if your fic isn’t a 100% accurate depiction of the scene you see in your head with flawless grammar and zero typos. That is a, quite literally, impossible standard to meet and as a result of never meeting it, you probably feel one or more of the following:
lack of motivation
certainty that there’s no point in even trying
self-hatred or some other form of intense dissatisfaction with yourself and/or your skills
This is a completely logical way to feel in that mindset, by the way. Your standard for success is so high that you’re constantly a failure. If your standard for success is impossible to meet, then there is no point in trying. If there’s no point in trying, how could you possibly feel motivated?
In order to move away from those feelings, you need to move away from that all-or-nothing, black & white mindset.
One way to do this is by figuring out a new standard for success that actually can be achieved. For example, give yourself permission to have occasional typos in your stories. Gaiman’s Law states that an author will always find a typo the first time they open their published book. If even Neil himself has resigned himself to this fate, then hopefully you can too. If you managed to write your story then that’s a success and finding a typo after you’re done doesn’t turn that success into a failure.
Another thing that’s helped me is to think of every failure or mistake or dissatisfying result as a learning opportunity. If I’m not able to do something now, that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to do it at some point in the future. I just need to keep trying. Practice makes better. Practice also helps you figure out the things that are easy for you and the bits that are hard and where you might need some help - either from a fellow fan or from another kind of resource.
I think part of the reason why people can get so anxious about their fanworks is because we care so much about them. We love the characters. We love the world. We want to do them justice in our writing, and we want other fans to love our creations too.
It’s important to remember that all of us love imperfect things all the time. It’s not perfection that makes a thing lovable. It’s the heart that’s put into it.
There’s a lot of fear behind perfectionism. Fear of being caught doing something wrong. Fear of being shamed for a mistake. Fear that imperfection makes us unworthy or unlovable. Fear that a single flaw will ruin an entire work. Fear of failure.
If you want to be able to move through that fear, you need to be able to reduce it somehow. The most effective way that I’ve found is to stop writing with the goal of posting something online. Write for the sake of writing, without the pressure of showing it to someone else. That might help you to get out a first draft (or second or third) without that worry about being judged and found wanting.
If you’re not ready for positive self-talk or reframing the internal narrative (I get it. Been there.) then allowing yourself to be less than perfect in a place where no one else can see you might be a good first step.
And just because I think it’s important that you hear it from time to time: you are a wonderful, creative, amazing human being - mistakes included.

I present unto thee this persistent thought:
(Continuing the Fae-Owned-Alastor AU)
It doesn't take long for the rest of the Hotel to despise the new "guest."
Any time Alastor does literally anything, the "guest" is there to antagonize him. This "guest" seems to have no concept of boundaries when it comes to Alastor and Alastor, for some reason, is holding himself back from retaliating.
At least when Alastor fights with Lucifer, things still get done and the Hotel gets a show (despite how much Charlie wishes the fighting would stop, nobody can deny that it's entertaining). The "guest" so much as says Alastor's name and he's frozen.
When Vaggie catches the "guest" slipping a hand under Alastor's shirt, and Alastor is completely still save for distressed ear-twitching, she can't stop herself from decking the "guest" in the face and dragging Alastor to another room for a talk.
The "guest" is annoyed at Vaggie's actions, but doesn't follow them.
All Alastor can tell her, though, is that "names are power."
It's Lucifer that figures out what's going on, with a little help from Husk and Vaggie. Husk voices his concern that the "guest" may hold more power over Alastor than anyone else (he's careful not to say that Alastor is bound to a deal). The realization that this "guest" is a Fae, and that this Fae owns Alastor because Alastor introduced himself, is accompanied by red-eyed rage, hellfire, and concern from Charlie.
Lucifer goes on to explain that Fae are a big deal. They're divine beings, and even the weakest Fae are easily as powerful as Exorcist angels, however Lucifer doubts that this is a weaker Fae. The Fae have a lot of rules that they have to follow, but if you tell your name to a Fae then that Fae owns your soul.
The last time Lucifer met a Fae, it caused a massive diplomatic issue that resulted in a permanent cold war between Heaven and Tír Na Nóg.
Lucifer makes it abundantly clear that they need to use the Fae's rules in order to get the Fae to leave. Until they can accomplish that, however, they need to make sure that the Fae is never left alone with Alastor again.
To say Alastor was confused when Charlie suddenly decided to have Lucifer and Alastor share a room for bonding purposes would be an understatement.
(The Fae in the Hotel may or may not want Lucifer dead at this point.)
