2025 Full Moon Round prompts have appeared!

Wow! It's already summer, and TWAD has been running for a full 2 years! We hope you're ready for some more fun, which means new prompts for the 2025 Full Moon Round have been posted up! You can view each one via the prompt card below:

Juggernaut’s Burden (war pick), Uncommon (optional attunement)

The Juggernaut’s Burden is a hefty and huge anchor forged entirely from iron that has been used as a weapon by large creatures out of the sea. These anchors were once forged by a tribe of giants who sought to cross the sea but were lost to the ocean depths when their vessels met tragedy. Same as with the Colossus’ Band ring, the Juggernaut’s Burden grows in power in the hands of a Titanqueller Blood Hunter. About the Blog!

This blog is an attempt to collate and collect all the non-fandom-specific (writing) challenges hosted annually during specific months posted on tumblr - it is not an attempt to take credit for any of these challenges! Please follow the actual blogs of the challenges you're interested in participating in and check out their individual prompt challenge rules!!

There are many, many more writing challenges out there than these monthly challenges, if you're looking (daily prompts, yearly prompts, fandom specific challenges, etc.). Listen to Your Instincts (They Might Have Something Interesting to Say)

I posted my first completed Teen Wolf fic! I wrote this for the @tw-anchor-down Waxing Crescent Round and fulfilled 5 prompts and both mega challenges.

Pairing: Chris Argent/Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski Rating: Explicit Words: 26,445

Summary

While investigating a series of suspicious incidents in the preserve, Chris and Peter come across a strange patch of mushrooms. When they accidentally step on them and trigger unknown magic, they find themselves in each other's body. Not only does Peter now have to deal with keeping Chris calm as he experiences a werewolf's enhanced senses for the first time, but he also has to contend with the fact that Chris isn't just experiencing a werewolf's instincts, he's experiencing Peter's instincts.

How will Peter handle things when the swap brings more than one of his secrets to light? Will he still have the two most important people in his life when all is said and done?

Movement becomes obvious through the trees obscuring the next section of trail, and then Stiles is coming into view, gangly limbs moving awkwardly as he sprints as fast as he can, face red as he sweats and pants. The moment he sees them standing there, relief fills his face and he falters. 

“Oh, thank god,” he gasps, stumbling to a stop and bending over to brace his hands on his knees. 

Peter flings out a hand towards Derek, hoping it will stall him when, sure enough, Chris rushes at Stiles, still in full beta shift. Derek lets out a roar and leaps, too far away to make it to them in a single lunge. 

Both actions have Stiles’s eyes widening, before their view of his face is obscured by Chris’s – Peter’s – body. 

“Wait!” Peter shouts at Derek, jumping into his path. “He’s not going to hurt him!” 

Thankfully, Derek falters to avoid bowling him over, long enough to see that Chris has grabbed Stiles and latched on to him, holding him tightly but not hurting him. 

“He’s not going to hurt him,” Peter says again, quieter but no less urgent. “But he might hurt someone if he keeps interpreting your actions as a threat.” 

“Uh…hey, guys? What’s going on?” Stiles’s eyes are huge as they stare over Chris’s shoulder, hands hovering awkwardly before carefully setting one on his waist and using the other to pat his back. “Uh, hey Peter. Um, what’s going on?” 

He looks over at who he thinks is his partner for an answer. 

“Not Peter,” three voices chorus, Peter and Isaac’s clear and Chris’s muffled into Stiles’s neck. Stiles looks even more lost, but then he looks closer at the group of them, paying closer attention to Peter and the version of him clinging to him. His eyes flick back and forth for a few seconds before looking down at the man clinging to him, arms settling a little more comfortably around him. 

“Chris?” 

An affirmative noise is nodded into his skin, the bridge of Chris’s nose dragging down his throat and across his shoulder where he somehow manages to bury his head even deeper, nose tucked into his collarbone, forehead nestled in the junction of his neck and shoulder. 

“Riiiiight…” Stiles says slowly. He glances back at the other three. “Which means… Peter?” He looks questioningly at Peter, who nods, expression shuttered. Stiles nods too, patting Chris’s back absently. “Alright. Okay. Cool. So, Chris is Peter and Peter is Chris. This makes sense. Guys? Someone wanna fill me in on how this makes sense?”

“Magic mushrooms,” Isaac offers. Stiles blinks. 

“Right. I remember that being mentioned. Care to elaborate?” 

“Chris and I were searching for signs of redcaps when, right around here,” Peter gestures to the side of the trail, “I caught an unfamiliar scent. I could tell there wasn’t anything bigger than a fox in our general vicinity, so we decided to see if we could figure out what it was. Maybe fifty yards in that direction, we found a patch of strange mushrooms.”

“And you touched them? Or — don’t tell me you ate them?” Stiles looks incredulous and appalled. Peter scowls. 

“No, despite what you apparently think, neither myself nor your boyfriend are actually idiots. We were just going to move a little closer when Chris stepped on another, smaller mushroom patch we hadn’t noticed underneath the leaves. One second he was touching my shoulder and stepping up beside me, next we were on the ground shaking off one of the most disorienting feelings I, for one, have ever experienced. When I looked up, we were like this. Switched.” 

Stiles nods, processing. 

“Great. Magic body-swapping mushrooms. Just what we need.”

“Could have been worse,” Isaac offers. Stiles and Peter both level him with flat looks. 

“Thank you, Isaac, for that oh so helpful insight,” Stiles says.

Isaac offers a barbed grin in reply, showing a little too much teeth.

“So uh, Chris?” Stiles glances back down to the man still clinging to him, though he seems to have calmed, his body having lost most of its tension. “You doing alright?” He gets an affirmative hum and a nuzzle at his throat. “Right. Can I have some actual words, baby?” 

“Better now.” Chris mumbles. Despite the mumbling, his voice is clear.

“That’s good, baby, I’m glad. Can you look at me for a minute, please?” Stiles pulls back a bit and Chris grumbles but lets his arms go slack, letting them slide down Stiles’s back as he straightens so they’re looped loosely around his waist. 

He’s human again. Even his eyes have lost their glow, back to Peter’s usual, human blue. Stiles offers him a soft, proud smile. 

Peter is embarrassed to see such a smitten, mildly preening look on his own face in response.

The Waning Crescent Round has kicked off!

Timeline: Oct. 1- Dec. 31, 2024

Happy fall and spooky season! Today marks the start for the last TWAD round of this year, which means we’ve got 15 new prompts from the 2024 Waning Crescent Round prompt card. Prompts are multimedia and consist of words, sayings/quotes, songs, tropes and photos. A reminder that creators have the option to choose: 1 prompt, a few, all of the prompts, or none of them from this prompt card. Feel free to dive into the mega challenge options (if you dare)! All works can be posted to TW Anchor Down’s open AO3 collection. As always, you're more than welcome to combine new prompts with older ones from previous prompt cards in the prompt card filing cabinet. If you're still working on stuff from the Full Moon Round or any other previous rounds, that's a-okay! Late submissions are always welcome, so you can submit those whenever you can!
