Terra's Blessings

Experimenting with different kinds of twisting and materials today. The colors in this Labradorite reminded me of a warm summer day, lying in the yard and looking up through the trees.

Sometimes, when I can't focus my mind on crafting, I just let my hands wander where they wish with a pen and paper. I've been very keen on drawing trees lately (big surprise). This little duo popped out of my head while watching "Over the Moon" on Netflix with my little one the other day. I often find myself being inspired by the softness of traditional Chinese brush painting, or Sumi-e. I call this piece "Gemini", done with brush markers and plain white paper. I'd like to create a whole zodiac series of trees someday.
