cutesy anime girl cover for edgy and violent song

might be projecting but i think this album has themes of purity culture and sexual guilt (for women specifically)

so often i hear songs about women discussing either sex or breakups and i wonder how they dont address the extra layer of sexual guilt that tends to come as a result. its so deeply ingrained even in more liberal spaces. i love the way Virgin captures subconsciously feeling like you've been used and the guilt that chases after you even as you try to remain untethered and do what you want.

and the fact its named Virgin contributes to this too! the whole concept of virginity is a result of purity culture
