Kolkata is filled with little mistakes. Missing a tram station due to a passionate adda. Spilling some chaa while pouring some into your friend's bhnar. The one wrong key of the harmonium. Leaving your bookmark within the pages before selling it to a second hand bookstore. Eyes mistakenly conveying more than you choose to with your words. Forgetting to collect the free dhonepata. Missing a word during Ashtami-r Pushpanjali. A sliver of sadness in The City of Joy.
But eventually erasing the pencil marks of mistakes.
like 90% of all riddles only work because we don’t have the language to talk about them succinctly. is the ship of theseus still the ship of theseus if every piece of it has been replaced? well, its tribberly is intact but its quonk is gone. tribberly means the idea of something while quonk means the actual atoms that make it up, by the way. there riddle solved. “boohoo but you still haven’t answered the question; does a ship’s quonk or its tribberly determine whether it’s the ship of theseus?” subjective. figure it out amongst yourselves. it’s literally simple it’s subjective it depends on who you ask there’s nothing paradoxical here. “when a tree falls in the forest but nobody hears it, does it make a sound?” it makes a splornk but not a glibbitytoop. you absolute fuck
being hindu and homophobic indicates you have little to no understanding of your own people and culture.
some of you STILL aren't able to comprehend the fact that the south asian subcontinent has been invaded since 500CE by mughal and western colonizers with abrahamic ideologies. it has wiped the normalcy, acceptance and appreciation of same-sex relations, gender fluidity, trans identity which is indigeneous to the land, since at a recorded date of 4000BCE, as observed in dharmic culture.
"we only got fucked over by the british!!!!!" sure, but you kinda forgot to mention the fact it started as early 52CE when some apostle started converting hindus in present day kerala, then if we fast forward a few centuries, temples were systemically destroyed, hindus were being lynched and mass converted by the mughal empire across the south asian subcontinent. this was way before the french, portuguese and british stepped in and fucked it up even more.
a cute little 2d platformer/adventurer, pretty cliched little "kill the dragon, save the princess" hero's journey story, but still enough charm to make its fairly short hour-long runtime memorable
HOWEVER
underNEATH the cute game is some toby fox-ass secret game, im talking, like, using braille to summon the regis in pokemon emerald, but doubly so
some weird fuckin shit
and underneath is the bizarre world that keeps the picturesque little rpg cliche above running
captively bred dragons kept in horrific conditions to make sure the dragon for the hero is aggressive enough
a long, long dead goddess with usurped powers to hand out magical items to all the aspiring heros that make the journey
a hoard of mass-produced wealth
everything above happens because of what happens down here, and it is not great
