If All I Had Was One Last Breath

My head canon for this piece:

• Fives was the marine keeper in the aquarium where Echo was kept -Echo had been "rescued" after being found washed up on the beach, disoriented and injured, and then he was held against his will.

• Fives and Echo fell in love, and Fives was eventually able to break him out - and obviously quit the aquarium too.

• Fives now dives frequently with Echo to spend time with him in his world.

• Fives is brutally attacked by a group of rival sea creatures to teach Echo a lesson for falling in love with a human and to show Echo that humans don't belong in their world... Echo must now do everything he can to save his lover. (Echo's brothers - the clones - all love Fives for saving their brother and bringing him home 🥹)
