Abrasax and the Ghoul.
When @van-goghs-smoking-skull gave me carte blanche with their stories, I already knew what to do.
I took some liberties with their characters and the scene itself, but we found a good compromise. So here is my take on my favorite scene from their WIP,ย A Toast to Hell, featuring the Ghoul and the badass angel Abrasax.

โThe ghoul watched through squinted eyes and covered his mouth with his hands, trying to protect his lungs. The figure lifted its arm and a raven took flight, then landed next to the ghoul, pecking at him and ripping his clothes. The figure then lowered its arm swiftly, hand balled into a fist, then opened with two fingers pointing downward. At the end of the motion, the wind stopped and the air cleared. A voice rumbled in his mind. "This is my home. Should I treat you as thief or guest?" The raven continued to peck at him, taking bits of skin now.โ
I love having such talented friends ๐ค

I don't know what I'm doing here in the Tumblr mobile app and can't find your actual reply. The notification takes me to the post with a good fraction of a million comments and reposts. Can you help me out here?
That's just how the app works, and we all have to scroll forever to find comments. In any case, my comment to you:
You completely missed it. The funny part isn't just that they misunderstood what salmonella is, but that pasta isn't made with it. Salmonella causes food poisoning, pasta is made with semolina, a variety of wheat.
#anyway#please no more asks#I've already migrated#I *happened* to notice this one#but otherwise this is a very dead blog

Update: Due to Tumblr's decision to partner with MidJourney, I'll be moving to Cohost.
Music: https://cohost.org/downtempo-kestrel?page=0
Art: https://cohost.org/sibi-barknd?page=0
Writing: https://cohost.org/windblownsand?page=0
Everything else: https://cohost.org/van-goghs-smoking-skull?page=0
(My works/posts will be deleted from here as I move them over as separate posts on Cohost)
(Oooo, bonus, I can switch individuals posts on Cohost to 18+ without sending my entire blog to the void - no need to have an entirely different account for one whole fic.)
(If we were mutuals and I stopped following you, you didn't do anything wrong - it's part of the process of migrating. If you have a Cohost account, just DM me what it is and I'll follow you there, instead.)
(5/13/24, the export begins. It'll take quite a while, but once I have the full download - so I can sort things out offline - I'll only be around here for DMs. I'll be available otherwise on my Cohost blogs and I'll still be on Discord, so if you want faster responses, look for me there)

Round Three
oh shit I forgot to post the next one. Take that as indication of the state of my life.
First went Palm Oil. Now Tuna is gone. Good news for rainforests and dolphins. Rough day for several industries.
Same caveat as before. This just means we stop eating it, not that we are removing the food from the planet.
#easy - almonds#one of the most water-intensive crops (if not the most) mostly grown in California#the desert southwest has gone from drought to aridification#it would have been an excellent time to cut back on the water usage to more sustainable levels#but as a whole we haven't#it'd be nice if we could start sometime before the place becomes more inhospitable to life#this would only be a hard choice if avocados were also on this poll#or bottled Aquafina water

Mind if I ask about 'Axolotls'?
Of course!
It's a page of Axolotl adoptables I never finished. I sold one, but I never really finished the others...
I regret the person I sold the finished one to. u_u I wanna finish the others. ^w^ I might sketch out more.

I wanna know about "visiting friend" please! OwO
Every once in a while, a moth will appear in our house. Whether the moth came in from outside or it had been a caterpillar hiding in here, I don't know, but they'll usually stick around for a couple of days. One managed to be chill enough that I managed to take pictures, and while I've made a rough sketch, I haven't worked on him for a few months now. But eventually I'll finish drawing him.
As for the photo, here's the little guy, himself.
(Thankfully, I managed to take a much less blurry photo of another moth of the same species recently)

WIP GAME
Thank you for tagging me, @osiris-iii-bc
RULES: Make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have WIPs.
Fics:
Tangent
A Toast to Hell (Fragments)
Dream Cycle (WIP status until I die)
[unnamed and not posted online] (I'm thinking maybe 'Blessed Are The Meek' as the title, but it's not set in stone)
Drawings:
Visiting friend (moth)
Game idea:
Cardstalk
Music:
Nothing at the moment or in the near future
Tagging: I have seen a few pals already tagged so Iโll tag the ones I havenโt seen around, @awesome--fangirl, @panthermouthh, @watercolourferns, @lupinedreaming, @endreal, @vinceaddams
(TBF, with 23 projects unfinished, I'm not holding the last one to the 'tag as many people as you have WIPs' rule, though to be perfectly honest, I'm not holding any of you to that rule, and I'm not even requiring you to participate - this is a fun WIP game, and not meant to be anxiety-inducing)

Day Dress
c.1855
England
This type of widely protruding skirt that appeared around the middle of the 19th century came to be known later under the name of the "crinoline style." As can be seen with this dress, large design motifs proved immensely effective on these voluminous skirts. The border pattern here is wood-block printed and repeats every 20.6 cm. Compared to small-scale designs, large patterns require a solid technique to avoid misalignment of the print colors. Considering that this mixed fabric of silk and wool is a material hard to print on, this dress with its bright and cheerful colors is a particularly fine example on how much cloth printing techniques had evolved.
