Something I try to keep in mind when making art that looks vintage is keeping a limited color pallette. Digital art gives you a very wide, Crisp scope of colors, whereas traditional art-- especially older traditional art-- had a very limited and sometimes dulled use of color.
This is a modern riso ink swatch, but still you find a similar and limited selection of colors to mix with. (Mixing digitally as to emulate the layering of ink riso would be coloring on Multiply, and layering on top of eachother 👉)
If you find some old prints, take a closer look and see if you can tell what colors they used and which ones they layered... a lot of the time you'll find yellow as a base!

Misprints can really reveal what colors were used and where, I love misprints...
Something else I keep in the back of my mind is: how the human eye perceives color on paper vs. a screen. Ink and paint soaks into paper, it bleeds, stains, fades over time, smears, ect... the history of a piece can show in physical wear. What kind of history do you want to emulate? Misprinted? Stained? Kept as clean as possible, but unable to escape the bluing damages of the sun? It's one of my favorite things about making vintage art. Making it imperfect!
You can see the bleed, the wobble of the lines on the rug, the fading, the dirt... beautiful!!
Thinking in terms of traditional-method art while drawing digital can help open avenues to achieving that genuine, vintage look!

Gay Ghost Galleon is a ttrpg about queer, undead pirates completing unfinished business so their spirits can rest.
Vitus is the ship's cook aboard the Lady Gray. As demonstrated by this section of the character sheet, he needs to rediscover the joy of living in order to find peace. Vitus is Fearsome and Intelligent (3 dice in Fearsome, 2 in Intelligent at the start of the game), and a veteran of many long lonely centuries.

It's a Japanese indie game about a boy who has never felt loneliness, a girl who's only a head, and a quirky but hostile world they travel through together. We haven't finished it yet, but we feel good recommending it on the strength of the soundtrack and the storytelling alone.

Game devs here: if you're a brand account and you're on Tumblr, you really need to engage with Tumblr culture to succeed here. Even if you make good posts (which you do) and you're running an account for a beloved fandom franchise (which you are), you're not going to have the reach you want to have if you don't engage with people socially.
I'd recommend reblogging stuff- fanart, fanvids, music remixes, and Pokémon related polls. (Not fanfic, unless your lawyers give you the okay.)
Go through the tags and congratulate people who just caught a shiny or beat a Nuzlocke. Check out the Pokémon RP and Pokémon IRL communities.
Basically- engage with the community like you guys are a person in it who just happens to be really famous and popular, don't just post and expect people to come.

We finished our first full game - A Bone To Pick, a pirate murder mystery!
Ribsy is a skeleton, brought to life by the capricious Skeleton God. The Skeleton God is bored, and so he's set Ribsy a task- figure out who killed the pirate Captain who once owned Ribsy's bones.
Gather evidence. Talk to four suspicious crew members and one undead parrot. Play the accordion. Solve the case and walk away a free skeleton... or fail, and spend the rest of eternity holding a gym bag in Davy Jones' Locker!

I hate to say it, but it's not outrageous. It's just that no one is getting paid enough to cover what games cost to make.
You know those posts that talk about how, if people were paid a fair price for their labour, anything crochet would cost like $300 minimum, because of the time and effort it takes to make a piece of crochet? Multiply that by a couple hundred people- all of whom need to be paid. Factor in the cost of real estate in Japan, the cost of producing physical cartridges, the cost of keeping a network up for the multiplayer content, and are you starting to see the problem yet.
"But indie devs only charge like $15 for a game with way more content!" -- I hate to break it to you, but those devs are the equivalent of people on Etsy selling crochet for the cost of the yarn. Most indie devs don't factor the cost of their labour into the prices they charge.
And- bluntly- they couldn't if they wanted to. Because we have systematically devalued the price of indie games, to the point where you can't charge a fair price for them if you want to. After all, Hollow Knight is an 80+ hour game that sells for $15 and goes on sale al the time!!! Do you think you're better than Team Cherry?????
... It's a vicious cycle. No one gets paid enough to afford games, so AAA devs have to raise their prices (to be able to deal with a smaller player base) and indie devs have to tank them, meaning the prices seem even more unfair...
What I'm saying is, don't be mad at Nintendo. Be mad at your boss for exploiting you to the point where you can't pay other people what they're worth.*
*(Unless you work for Nintendo. Then they're your boss and part of the problem.)
We literally cannot let them start charging 80 dollars for video games 70 dollars was already outrageous 60 was pushing it. 80 fucking dollars. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND. For MARIO?!?!?!?!?
