Some screen grabs of the editing process. I edited the film with help from Brooke and we both composited it. Jennifer McNamara also did some compositing work.
Overview of the blend shapes I created for Jumbo. I am pretty pleased with most of these as it was my first time creating them, and they worked pretty well in the film. Amy Heyes then created the GUI for the facial expressions.
Final playlist of shot 30 animation. I animated the skaters in the background and Amy Heyes animated Jumbies. Fairly happy with these, although we were on a tight schedule and they aren’t as good as I would have wanted them to be.
Playblasted animaation of shot 8_a. There were issues with the rig so this shot had to be split into 3, rather then be animated to the original animatic. Quite happy with the animation of him getting on the bike, but the rest had to be improvised due to rig restrictions.
Playblast of Shot 7 animated. I personally tried very hard to get across that he is excited, even if it didn’t work as well as I would have liked. I feel that I learned a lot from this and know how I’d make it better now. However, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out anyway.
Finished timed playlist animatic create for the music and sound artist. This is timed out to be as accurately as possible for the sound artist to be able to record specific sounds. Hopefully, this will work and help the sound designer as much as possible.
Portrait created for the living room scene of Jumbies and his Guardian. It is a plot device and needed to look like an old photo. It was turned into a sepia tones image for it to be accurate in the shot.
Playlist of Shot 40 finished, seen from the back camera. This shot is shown in 2 cameras and changes in the middle. The newspaper rig was not easy to work with, but I did my best!
Playlist of shot 73 finished. This one was difficult to get right within the time, but I think it works. This will be composted onto the trophy from and alternate angle. It will be interesting to see it once it is finished!
