Every evening we used to ride out of the city and it's bright lights. Smell the sea and count the stars. Talk about quarks and wonder about time. Write reaction mechanisms in the sand and sing a Beatles song (I'd just listen actually). And then we'd ride back. From our Neverland into the city we called Vizag. And now after all those years, it feels good to have zoned out for a day. Even if for a hurting eye. :)

On our way to Panipat Thermal Power Station. The 1,370MW plant is indeed a sight... :) But looking at @denergies R&D success, such coal plants are soon going to be #history and 1,300MW will seem like a AAA #battery. But for now we're here to make Indian thermal power plants cleaner, and more efficient - using the residual energy from its spent steam and hot water that currently the plant is unable to extract, to boost the plant's capacity. That's about 8-10% gain in net power output. Ever wondered if there indeed were a hell, how hot it'd be? I have no idea. But definitely not as hot as this! *evil smile* Ultra-high bypass heat exchange module testing in a supersonic wind tunnel. At 4,000km/h inlet velocity and 140°C inlet temperature the multi-nozzle expansion chamber seen here creates huge pressure gradients within laminar limits. This results in heating up of the gas to above 1,800°C due to the generated friction between the differing pressure zones and the chamber walls. This hypersonic gas flow at 1,800-2,000°C exhausts the module as the turbine inlet flow. Enabling the turbine to generate enormous power at very high efficiencies, 24×7. Done with all wedding formalities, time to get back to what I love doing most - building amazing engines. :) Priming the couplings & gearbox of our next turbogenerator (XP-R Class) that ships out to rural Haryana this April ending.
