The Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach is a sophisticated beachfront property beautifully nestled amongst lush gardens. With two stunning swimming pools and a variety of outstanding dining choices, including fine dining establishments, relaxed cafés, cozy lounges, and vibrant bars, this resort truly offers a world-class hotel experience.

Accommodations

The resort features 237 rooms, including 49 superb suites. During our stay, we were upgraded to the Imperial Suite. A six-seat dining table, two expansive balconies, and a decorated entryway are a few notable highlights of our suite. The rooms are designed to provide maximum comfort to its guests, with features such as floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, and stunning views of the Arabian Gulf or the sprawling city skyline. A neutral color palette draws the sunshine into the space. With amenities such as signature Four Seasons sheets, in-room iPads, and Nespresso machines to cater to the discerning tastes of its guests.

Shai Salon

Shai Salon is home to the ultimate afternoon tea experience in Dubai. Curated by the talented and award-winning pastry chef Nicolas Lambert, the classic treats and unique creations are both aesthetically beautiful and delicious. Chef Lambert has crafted a selection of delectable treats to satisfy any sweet tooth. Served in a stylish and elegant setting, the Shai Salon is the perfect spot to relax and savor the sweet life.

Sea Fu

Sea Fu offers an Asian-inspired, fresh seafood menu paired with unbeatable beachfront views during the day, and a quiet ambiance at night. The restaurant serves an array of Japanese and Pan-Asian delicacies, including fresh sushi and sashimi, crispy tempura, and succulent grilled meats. The dishes are expertly crafted, plated beautifully, and bursting with flavor.

Mercury Rooftop

The Mercury Rooptop is the top choice for those looking for a sophisticated evening out. The bar menu offers a unique selection of cocktails and mocktails, all crafted with a creative twist to leave a lasting impression.

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti: Adventure Awaits

Africa may have been my final continent to visit, but my stay at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is undoubtedly in my top 5 hotel experiences.

Review

Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is home to some of the most breathtaking wildlife and picturesque landscapes in the world. At the heart of this beautiful wilderness sits the Four Seasons Serengeti, a luxurious lodge that offers a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience.

Nestled among the rocky outcrops and acacia trees that dot the savannah, this lodge is an oasis of luxury in the midst of the rugged terrain. The property features curved lines that unfold along the landscape with building materials such as local muninga wood and bamboo to complement the Serengeti's natural foliage. The layout of the hotel is centered around a two-story great house where the lobby, infinity pool, and restaurants are located.

Accomodations

The lodge has 77 guest rooms, including 12 suites and 5 freestanding villas. In our spacious lounging area, a wall of black-and-white imagery of the Serengeti mirrors the scene outside our window. A wooden frame bed adorned with a linen canopy sets the tone of our room. Each accommodation has all the amenities you would expect from a high-end hotel, with comfortable beds, elegant furnishings, and patios or private balconies with a pool that offer stunning views of the Serengeti.

Food & Beverage

I'm not usually an early bird, but a combination of jetlag and excitement for each day meant that 6am breakfast buffet was calling my name. A window-side table overlooking the property's infinity and watering hole was our favorite spot to enjoy breakfast before our game drive. The half-day game drive was ideal for us because we'd be back at the hotel by lunch. Being situated in the middle of the Serengeti doesn't prevent The Lodge from being fully stocked in alcohol. I was most impressed by the variety of cuisine offered in its menus: Italian, Japanese, Mediterranean, Indian, and authentic African, to name a few.

The Wildlife

Of course, the real draw of the Serengeti is the wildlife, and the Four Seasons Serengeti offers plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with some of the world's most iconic animals. Expert guides lead daily game drives that take guests into the heart of the park, where they can see everything from lions and leopards to elephants and giraffes. And for those who want a truly unique experience, the lodge offers hot air balloon safaris that offer a bird's eye view of the Serengeti.

Four Seasons Serengeti is the perfect combination of luxury and adventure. A stay there guarantees an unforgettable safari experience in the heart of the Tanzanian wilderness. Its unique location provides opportunities to experience Tanzania's stunning wildlife and natural beauty. Whether you're a seasoned safari-goer or a first-timer, the lodge offers something for everyone - from families with kids to honeymooners and solo travelers. It's a trip I'll never forget.

It's also worth mentioning that soaking tubs are available in every room with products from Byredo expressly created for The Luxury Collection properties.

Breakfast

OASIS GARDEN, Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho's all-day dining venue, is a captivating Mediterranean restaurant that brings a garden in the sky to life. Experience a casual dining journey on the 36th floor where you can witness the lively kitchen, indulge in the enticing fragrance of freshly brewed coffee, and delight in a wide array of delicious options from our buffet, à la carte, and full-course menu selections. The property is currently serving Hawaiian-inspired dishes as part of its Hawaii Fair. Guests who want to enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the comfort of their rooms can also opt for a Japanese breakfast.

Afternoon Tea

For a limited time, Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho is partnering with The Royal Hawaiian (also part of The Luxury Collection) to create a whimsical afternoon tea. The Sunset Pink Palace Afternoon Tea is offered at Levita, the hotel's lounge area that doubles that transforms into a lively bar at night. The menu features reimagined Hawaiian dishes on the savory plate, including deconstructed poke and loco moco skewers. The sweet plate highlights the fruity flavors of the island with delightful, bite-size desserts.

BELLUSTAR TOKYO, a Pan Pacific Hotel: Tranquility in the Sky

With a grand opening in May 2023, BELLUSTAR TOKYO is the city's newest luxury hotel. The property is a unique destination that defines Shinjuku's premier skyline.

Situated on the top levels of TOKYU KABUKICHO TOWER, Pan Pacific x Tokyu's BELLUSTAR TOKYO boasts 97 exquisite rooms ranging from studio rooms to penthouses. Each room offers stunning panoramic views of Shinjuku's vibrant cityscape through its floor-to-ceiling windows.

The property streamlines its check-in process for guests by asking for your name on the 1st floor and preparing the paperwork by the time you reach their 18th-floor lobby. Your preferences are noted for your stay, including a welcome drink and the option of turn-down service (I especially appreciated this consideration because I always decline turn-down service). We were promptly escorted to our room where our welcome drinks were delivered.

Accommodations

BELLUSTAR TOKYO departs from the usual light and bright color schemes found in 5-star properties and embraces the elegance of dark hues. They are the first hotel in the world to have all of its furniture crafted by the three designers of Karimoku Case Study. Our suite's muted blue and grey tones create an unexpected yet tasteful ambiance. The dark blue walls contrast the vibrant morning sky and complement the starry night. A black marble bathroom with gold accents and a signature gray bathrobe are two examples of the hotel's unique creative direction. Understated luxury means items curated specifically for the hotel, like their own line of body products and a special blend of BELLUSTAR coffee.

Restaurant Bellustar

Restaurant Bellustar is the hotel's signature restaurant. Located on the 45th floor, the restaurant presents a "sky dining" experience. The open-concept kitchen allows the chefs to personally welcome you upon arrival and bid you farewell as you leave. The breakfast spread, features delectable baked goods, refreshing yogurt paired with seasonal fruits, a crisp salad, and a delightful entree.

As the sun sets and tablecloths are added, the dining space transforms into an enchanting setting. Restaurant Bellustar's menu blends French tradition and culture with ingredients sourced from diverse regions of Japan. To fully immerse yourself in the captivating atmosphere, I highly recommend a 5:30 reservation, which allows you to savor the golden hour while enjoying your meal. And as an added bonus, you'll have the opportunity to gaze upon Mount Fuji's silhouette in between your courses.

BELLUSTAR TOKYO has recently made its debut in the heart of Shinjuku, Tokyo. Occupying the top floors of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, it is an architectural masterpiece that boasts a sleek and futuristic design with a silhouette that resembles a grandiose fountain of water shooting toward the sky. This stunning hotel not only boasts a prime location, but also features sleek furnishings, luxurious amenities, and world-class dining options. BELLUSTAR TOKYO is a gem in the heart of the city that sets that definition of "tranquility in the sky".

Four Seasons Bora Bora: The Ultimate Honeymoon Destination

Among the many resorts that Bora Bora has to offer, Four Seasons stands out with its unique blend of luxury and romance.

Bora Bora is an island group within the Society Islands of French Polynesia. It was formed by a volcano over seven million years ago and boasts an incredible coral reef atoll with several surrounding islets, including one home to the Four Seasons Resort. Moreover, Mount Otemanu's astounding silhouette rises 2,835 feet above sea level to create one of the world's most iconic landscapes.

Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora is a paradise of tranquil waters and stunning vistas. The magnificent resort is surrounded by a turquoise lagoon that envelops sand-fringed islets. The island getaway is a favorite amongst honeymooners, babymooners, and couples from all walks of life.

Activities

Four Seasons Bora Bora is a sprawling property that also feels walkable. Many of the hotel's facilities are centrally located and a short walk from our bungalow. 24/7 buggy service is provided, but we opted for leisurely strolls to enjoy the view. Paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkels are complimentary to all guests, while jet skis can be rented for an hourly fee. You can also open the Four Seasons app on your phone to connect with your on-site concierge who can plan personal experiences for you!

Accommodations

The expansive property features 7 villas and 108 overwater bungalows - 27 equipped with private plunge pools. Pocket doors opened up between three separate rooms including an opulent bedroom with a king-size bed, a bathroom complete with double vanity and deep soaking tub framed by beautiful windows, plus ample living spaces outfitted with a sofa bed and flat-screen TV. We also spent time on our outdoor deck, which includes two sunchairs, a shaded seating area, and direct access to the ocean via a stepladder.

Dining

The resort offers a range of dining options that cater to every taste. There are four dining options, each offering a unique setting and cuisine. You can indulge in French cuisine at Arii Moana, enjoy sushi and Asian flavors at Vaimiti, casual fare at Fare Hoa Beach Bar and Grill, or try local Tahitian dishes at Tere Nui. For a more intimate dining experience, the resort also offers in-suite dining or romantic breakfasts and dinners on the beach.

The Spa

Relaxation is key on a couples trip, and Four Seasons Bora Bora provides the perfect backdrop for that. Te Mahana (the sun) Spa is situated on the highest point of the hotel's motu. The wooden two-story building is set amidst a tropical garden and offers a range of holistic treatments that incorporate local ingredients. Their popular Overwater Spa Suite allows guests to unwind atop glass panels overlooking the lagoon. Our check-out was 12:30 on our last day, but we were still able to enjoy the property and freshen up at The Spa before our departure.

The scenic beauty of French Polynesia is unparalleled, and Four Seasons Bora Bora offers the perfect vantage point to take it all in. With its crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and sandy white beaches, it’s no wonder why the resort attracts couples from all over the globe. Grand Hyatt Vail offers the best of both worlds for skiers in search of a convenient and luxurious stay.

Grand Hyatt Vail offers 285 guest rooms and suites with sophisticated decor and luxurious bathrooms. We had a terrace room with a view of the mountains and the sounds of the babbling brook. The property underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2018, so all aspects of the hotel look and feel elevated.

Boasting an unbeatable location just steps away from the world-class runs of Vail Ski Resort, the ski-in, ski-out Grand Hyatt Vail offers visitors a premier lodging experience. The Grand Hyatt Vail ski rental shop (also called Venture Sports) is connected to the property. As part of the luxury ski-in, ski-out experience, you'll be greeted with toasty boots next to a fireplace. They'll even carry your skis to and from the chair lift.

Grand Hyatt Vail also features a heated pool, two alfresco hot tubs, and multiple fire pits. Our room was located close to one of the hot tubs, and we took full advantage of it during our stay. After a day of skiing, a hot tub under the stars was the perfect way to relax our muscles.

Gessner

Grand Hyatt Vail's signature restaurant, Gessner. is an alpine-inspired fine dining experience. New Executive Chef Pascal Coudouy flawlessly showcases a reimagined menu for the winter season while highlighting the authentic flavors of the Rockies. With an atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy lodge and a chef-driven menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients, guests can expect to enjoy delicious dishes while admiring the elegant design of the restaurant.

Some notable items worth mentioning:

s'mores espressotini- a fun rendition of a childhood fav for those 21+

truffle risotto- a specialty dish that was an option for the night. (If it isn't available, the duck croquette is also worth sharing.)

chef's duck- this was also one of the specials for the night

baked vail- pinecone shaped bittersweet chocolate ice cream, flambéed meringue, graham cracker crumble, chocolate sauce. Simply divine!

Yoshimi Pop-Up

Yoshimi Pop-Up is in collaboration with the renowned Yoshimi Restaurant at Hyatt Regency Mexico City. In addition to signature maki rolls and handmade nigiri, the restaurant also serves Sapporo on tap and Suntory Highball Whiskey on draft.

This Chicago area empanada restaurant is named after the international dialing code for Buenos Aires, a tribute to the owners' home city. These delectable pastries come in many varieties and can be custom-crafted for both savory and sweet dishes. When it comes to fillings, 5411 Empanadas stand out from its competitors.

A quick coffee & dessert break at Patisserie Coralie

Patisserie Coralie is an authentic French patisserie set in the Midwest. Owner and Founder Pascal Berthoumieux has been in the industry since he was 16 years old and has worked at the Michigan Avenue of Paris: Champs-Élysées. The Home Alone Suite: A Unique Hotel Experience

This holiday season, the Graduate Evanston Hotel in Illinois is paying tribute to one of the most iconic Christmas movies of all time: Home Alone.

Graduate Evanston is located near the site of the famous movie home, and guests can take a self-guided tour of the neighborhood to see where the film was shot. The suite, which is located on the third floor of the hotel, features a replica of the famous McAllister master bedroom. Complete with a life-size cutout of Michael Jordan, the details in the room are spot on. If you saw it happen in the McAllister House in the movie, it's likely to be in the room (see how many references you spot in this blog post).
