I had an idea for a novel today, based on my own childhood (like I'm sure so many authors do). When I was a young kid, I was wholeheartedly convinced that magic was as much a fact of the universe as B coming after A. Throughout elementary school, I couldn't discern from fantasy and reality, but it kept me from making friends because I didn't exist in the same world as my peers. I was totally removed, up until middle school when I started to take notes on what popular and normal kids liked, how they talked, how their conversations went, what was appropriate, and with time I perfected the charade so much it became me. I wonder what would I have become if I hadn't learned those social skills - probably lonelier and weirder. But what if in this story, it became dark? A little girl, held captive by her own hyper-active imagination and desperate to connect with others, how could it turn out? If I were Ali Aster, it would probably turn cultish or disturbing, but I feel like it would just end up being really sad.
PS I'm feeling very vulnerable writing this so I'll probably delete.

Finished my daily writing exercise. In other news, I'm reading HTWF and it's sooo good. I'm obsessed with how Olivie Blake makes every dialogue exchange snarky af.

I wrote again today, I'm proud to be getting back into this daily habit. Question, for those of you who write every day, how much time do you spend editing previous works? And does this count toward your writing goal?

Writing every day
Hihihi! While I had an awesome holiday weekend, it really threw off my writing groove and I've lost my writing streak. Going to pick it back up today thought, wish me luck

This hyperfixation on Dramione fanfiction is ruining me. It's like reverse-depression, where I don't want to eat, sleep, or socialize anymore, none of my interests are interesting, I just need to keep reading this sweet satisfying garbage until my brain finally melts.

My JAW is on the floor.
Okay, who’s got a Drarry reco for me?
Tumblr media
For all of my Drarry fans ❤️
Quite an unusual content for my acc I’d say since I’m not a drarry fan myself but recently I got a dm on Instagram suggesting I re-draw my old Wolfstar hands artwork into a drarry one so here is a quick sketch of them two 😌

Day 7 of writing every day
(It's been a week of writing every day, so I'd like to share what I wrote today. Apologies it's not Dramione fan fiction, but patience will be rewarded. Prompt: Write about finding a new hobby)
There is no scientific reason why some are predisposed to playing piano, to waxing poetic, or to fishing. Hobbies hold no capitalist value; learning how to shuffle will not award you the business acumen required to excel in corporate America, no more than being an excellent baker will signal a successful squash career.
“But I’ve turned my hobby into my career!” I hear your indignant cry. On this I politely disagree. You’ve made your hobby a job, which if you are passionate, that makes living in this capitalist hellscape a little more tolerable. However, it is no longer a hobby.
Hobbies are a delightfully self-indulgent rebellion against everything we’re taught to value. Productivity, efficiency, cost-benefit analysis doesn’t matter when you create for creations sake.
We surrender to hobbies of our own volition, not because it will put food on the table but because it will nourish our deprived souls (cheesy, I know).
Unlike a career, a hobby is promiscuous. It’s indifferent to how often you show it affection, and whether you spoil others with it. You can plunder crochet with urgent fingers in the morning, and open your mouth agape to sing in the afternoon, and neither hobby will take offense. Or, for the perverse hobbyist, you’re free to orchestrate a hobby orgy, enjoying the delights of watercolor, bird-watching and listening to music all at once. The hobbies don’t compete for attention, proficiency, or rigor, they’re contented just by your presence.
So go! Be licentious, try a little bit of everything even if the results are lousy. Write a poem and never share it. Your hobby doesn’t care.

Day 6 of writing every day
I wrote yesterday, even if it was just for ten minutes. I'm learning to accept that I won't be perfect every day, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try.

Day 5 of writing every day
I had to take a break from writing my Dramione fanfic as a palate cleanser, so I went off a prompt to write about a girls night. I had a girls night last night, so I started describing that which turned into a contemplative piece comparing women to witches and cicadas. I want to clean it up and share it with you.

Day 4 of writing every day
I admit it, writing this post is going towards my count of writing every day. While I made some progress on my story, I waited too long today to get my writing in and now it's almost midnight. Lesson learned, get the writing done first.

Day 3 of writing every day
I told my best friend (who got me into dramione fanfiction in the first place) about what I was writing, and she gave me suggestions on how to make this even longer. So, I guess this turned from a writing prompt to a short story. I can't wait to share it with you.

Day 2 of writing every day
I did it! Only had time for 30 minutes today, but found it nonetheless. What I'm writing is turning into a Dramione fic about them as bratty teenagers, forced to attend the movies together as a requirement of a book report on muggle studies. Hilarity ensues due to Draco's bumbling lack of knowledge about the muggle world, Hermione's must-always-be-right only child attitude, and lots of bickering. I've never read a fanfic of them while they're stupid teens, so I'm excited to bring this to life and share it with you.

Day one of writing, complete! I’m so proud for taking the time to write today. I set out to write for 30mins, but it ended up being over an hour. What I wrote isn’t perfect, but it felt so good to create just for creations sake.

In an effort to reinvigorate my passion for writing, I'm going to attempt this challenge by writing for 30 mins a day. I already know that while it feels easy now, doing it in actuality is going to be tough.
I intend on sharing every day, in attempts to cure my perfectionism and share an imperfect WIP. I can already tell that this first prompt will be a Dramonie (because I'm currently in my Dramonie era, thanks DMATMOOBIL).

Hello, Internet
While I'm a long-time internet user and in my mid-20s, I've never felt compelled to have a Tumblr until now. (Though I was very familiar with Tumblr culture amidst the emo/scene revolution of being a high schooler in the 20-teens).
I'm starting this anonymous blog for a few reasons. The first is truly free self-expression. Secondly, it's to cure my perfectionism because while I love to write, I psyche myself out before I start because I'm worried it won't be good enough (self-induced perfectionism is a b!tch). And thirdly and most importantly, I'm looking for a community of equally passionate and kind people that love writing, fantasy, and can maybe relate to the dread of being in your mid-20s and not being famous yet.
Can you relate? I'd love to talk to you.
