iduna is the queen consort, while agnar is the regnant monarch (king regnant), and so does elsa and anna, they're queen regnant, but if one of them got married, said person will be a prince consort or a princess/queen consort. that's as far as i know...
but, i also want to talk abou this...
ARENDELLE CASTLE IS WEIRD....
a castle by any means is like a glorified fort, one of the main reasons a castle is built is to fortify its residents, in this case, the royal family. as with that, a castle usually have some of these characteristics;
• built in high ground
• have multiple layers
• in the center of the city / town
and so on and so forth, but those 3 points are the main one arrendelle's castle doesn't have, the castle is built near sea level, on lower ground, BUT DIRECTLY BESIDE A MOUNTAIN, and its in the edge of the city, in a secluded platform, on the lake... not besides the lake, ON THE LAKE...
lemme break it down why this is a flawed design.
building a castle on a lake presents and under a mountain presents a number of problem; the tides can hit directly to the castle if its strong enough, it is also shown in frozen 2 where the waves from the broken dam will hit arrendelle's castle due to it being built on sea level,
another problem with this is the castle being built under a mountain will make it vulnerable to avalanche in the winter...
a good example of a castle in Disney is actually from tangled, Corona's castle. The castle is built on high ground, heavily fortified (can be seen with how many layers & levels the castle have), and in the middle of their city.
ok thats all, thankyou for reading my rant
The funny thing about Hans is that, even if he did marry Anna and kill Elsa, he'd still wouldn't be king. He'd be a prince consort.
The title of king is reserved for a male monarch who rules in his own right, not through marriage. The role of a consort is supportive without any sovereign authority. This distinction is to help maintain the established hierarchy and ensure that the queen remains the sovereign ruler.
Oh course, Arendelle is a fictional country so the rules may be different, but based off history Hans wouldn't have any real authority.
There's a lot of things that are deeply weird about Frozen in terms of they both wanted it in a fantasy world where the usual rules don't apply... but they also were clearly invoking western monarchy systems and the movie ceases to make sense when you consider them in that context.
And also, personally, I've always felt Hans secretly being evil was... strange.
But it's a good movie and best not to think about it too closely.

YESSSSSSSSSSS.... but
take ur time... 😁😁😁, your elsanna fics has been the backbone of why i dive down this elsanna rabbit hole again after abandoning it mid 2020 after how disappointed i am w f2' ending... and ur fic is like a breath of fresh air where the tropes are a bit different from other elsanna fics, but its not out of character... and the concept of Anna having power BUT not a fire power is something almost unheard of.... so yeah im intrigued to see how that story will go... but most of all, thanks for the fresh air.. i almost forgot how cute elsa and anna is when in a romantic relationship
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but more people should read incomplete/unfinished/in-progress fanfics.
I've noticed this huge trend where creators on tiktok and tumblr who will be explaining how to use Archive Of Our Own to new users and they always say "and make sure to scroll down and click completed only" or how people will go out of their way to mention they only read completed fics 'because they were traumatized when they forgot to check the dates and didn't realize this fic hadn't been updated since 2012'.
The thing is - I think by not engaging with and/or actively avoiding writer's WIPs readers are potentially adding to the aggregate of abandoned works. Now this obviously isn't the case for all abandoned fics, anything from major life events, to loss of interest, to getting busy can be a reason for a fic getting abandoned - but at least on some level I just know that writers are quitting while they're ahead when they aren't garnering any response or feedback because reading WIPs has become unpopular. If you're worried about reading something that hasn't been updated since 2012 then you can use the date updated function to sort out old fics.
Anyways, support your favorite fanfic writers by engaging with their WIPs.

yk... for more than 10 years... I've read "gerda" as "greda", and I've just realized ive pronounce that name wrong this whole time ..
Hi! Thank you so much for putting all your Frozen research and analyses out here, it's been such a big help with all the little random questions about this world. This one I've been thinking about for a while: Do you have any guesses as to just how old Kai, Gerda, and Olina are? I know they were already working in the castle in Dangerous Secrets and they're still there so... that's a long time haha
Hello and thank you for your question, anon!
We've also been thinking about Kai, Gerda and Olina recently. They are indeed a fascinating trio and likely much older than most Frozen fans think.
To our knowledge, Olina has been around Arendelle Castle since at least the early 1810s. Her first appearance (chronologically) is in "Dangerous Secrets" chapter 6 p. 55 when Agnarr and Iduna are 14 and 12 years old respectively. According to the timeline presented in our previous work Annals of Frozen (2nd edition), that would be in the year 1812 (31 years before the main events of "Frozen").
Olina, the castle cook/chef, in the chapter book "Anna finds a friend" (2020).
Gerda has been around since Agnarr was at most five years old (DS chapter 27, p. 216) as she witnessed his mother, Queen Rita, make the stuffed toy Sir JörgenBjörgen (also seen in "Olaf's Frozen Adventure") for him. So, at least since 1803 (40 years before "Frozen"). It's entirely possible Gerda might have started working as a maid in her late teens, which would make her somewhere between 50-60+ years old in "Frozen".
Gerda, (holds the rank of "family steward" according to "Dangerous Secrets") in the guide book "All Around Arendelle" (2020).
Kai is also first mentioned (chronologically) in "Dangerous Secrets" chapter 4 p. 33 when Agnarr was 14 so he's been around at least as long as Olina.
Olina, Gerda and Kai in "Frozen".
Kai holds a whole bunch of different titles depending on what story he's mentioned in: royal butler, royal handler, castle overseer, tutor, chief adviser, royal attendant, steward and servant.
He is also featured in early concept art by Cory Loftis and even has his own room in the castle (also seen in "All Around Arendelle").

If you want to learn more about the trio, read this excellent post by our member @bigfrozenfan 😊

oh i got a whole ranking....
1. Anna's harvest festival dress
2. Anna's 1st queen dress
3. Anna's 2nd queen dress
4. frozen fever dress
5. F2 travel dress
6. F2 nightgown
7. olaf adventure winter dress
8. f1 coronation dress
9. f1 travel dress
10. comic anna everyday dress / f1 epilogue dress

💙🌻🖼️ 𝒜𝓃𝓃𝒶 🖼️🌻💙 Y’all these CG Princess are hard to draw accurately! I had to heavily reference Jin Kim’s concept art after struggling for a bit. When Frozen came out I was a big Elsa girlie but over the years Anna has become close to my heart. Her kindness, resilience, courage, and social awkwardness are so endearing and I want to be her when I grow up 💖 Anna has so many looks between her two movies! I love her travel dress, her nightgown, but especially her Frozen 2 travel dress. Which of Anna’s looks is your favorite?

unpopular opinion: the enchanted forest doesn't need a baby sitter, nor does the spirits....
It's 2025 and I still hate it.
I hate the ending of F2.
I hate that stupid "arrangement" of Elsa staying in the Enchanted Forest, when everyone is free.
Elsa could already sense something was wrong all the way back from Arendelle, so why stay in the Forest?
It doesn't make sense.
And I hate, how she is the one considered a "visit" in the place that was supposed to be her home.
Because Anna is there.
Did the team forget about the song: "When We're Together?"
Elsa and Anna sing together: "Doesn't matter where we are, if you're there with me." ; and Elsa sings: "Cause when we're together, I'll forever feel at home."
Like?
And I'm not saying they'd have to be glued to each other all the damn time, because I don't say this as an Elsanna shipper, but as a person who watched F1, both shorts, and F2, and I don't see one single fucking reason to make them stay apart from each other, when they had enough of that for 13 years.
And yes, I also hate how Kristoff is the one getting comfortable in the castle, when he and Anna don't even have any chemistry to begin with.
What I want the most, is to see Elsa and Anna happy, evolve, be themselves, have conversations about the most serious to the silliest stuff, and don't come fucking tell me that they couldn't do that, while living in the same place.
Because, that's how it should really be.
That's how they would lead:
Together.

idk why but this fanfic and the "all the love i found in you" have one of the best elsanna relationship dynamics out of all elsanna fanfics ive read. and pls... im dying know wtf happens next, did anna really have that "power of love"? did the one who's atacking ahtohalan is associated with scar? and how anna and elsa bresk the news to arendelle abt their relationship...
The Source of Love and Light, 9/?
FINALLY I HAVE THIS. Been ttip-tap-typing on it for quite a while. But I’m pleased with it. Elsa and Anna have some much needed time together. They also discuss a possibility Anna isn’t sure about but Elsa…very much is. But it’s probably not surprising. Also, a strange discovery is made! Please please read right HERE!

say whatever you want, the ending of frozen 2 is confusing, rushed, and in fact, made zero sense...
as much as i love seing anna as queen, i dont think the enchanted forest need a babysitter, an ex queen babysitter...
Why do you think that the ending of Frozen II is rushed?
Because it's rushed.
We don't have closure to many threads and it's obvious that there were some cuts so we got an ending with not enough build up leading to this ending.
What is the most glaring absence for me is zero reaction from Anna when she finds out that Elsa is staying in the forest.
I mean, we know by now that Anna's arc is the leading one and while I can frown at the way Elsa and Kristoff's arcs were sacrificed for this, I have to admit that the result is excellent for Anna: her arc is the most relatable thing ever. At some point we all are destined to lose a beloved one and feel Anna's pain. And her pain, depression and struggles to keep going are very real. I still can't listen to TNRT without crying.
And from this point of view the ending is the most inconsequential thing ever. From my personal experience and everybody I know that had similar situation, when your beloved ones were in a serious condition and they could die at any moment, but survived, your natural reaction is to never let them go. You cling to them like a tick and for your own sanity you want to have them around all the time and check on them like every five minutes. And it takes time to go back to more "normal" routine.
That's why Frozen ending or Frozen Fever felt so accurate with Elsa almost velcro tapping herself to Anna. That's why Frozen 2 ending feels so off with Anna going so fast from being so emotional over Elsa coming back from dead to being indifferent about being separated from her sister. And no, "they live a Nokk away" does not work in this situation, Anna should have a big trauma. Maybe she has, but we don't see it. And we should.
