Okay I’m not sure if anyone has said this before but I just came to a realization.

I’ve seen someone say that Nine was much more open to loving Rose than Ten was (like ten is more guarded with his feelings and he’d often do things that would deliberately push away Rose or something)

I just realized, when Nine met Rose, he’s fresh out of war, alone, blah blah blah we know this, she’s his coming home, and for once the war isn’t looming over his head, he could forget all about the past

BUT THEN BAD WOLF HAPPENS, and Rose is dying because she tried to save him, and now he’s dying regenerating because he’s saving her. And that’s sort of like a sobering moment for him that no this is not forever. Rose is human, she will die, you will not. This is how it’s always been, always will be.
