In my humble opinion, these are the absolute best angst & whump fics. It's mostly the bad stuff, but you walk away knowing that everything is going to be okay. I've been using "mostly hurt/some comfort" as a tag. Yes, it means that fewer people will see my fic. But someone who is looking for hurt/comfort probably isn't going to get the comfort scenes that they really want when they read my fics.

Okay so I’m trying to write a ‘hurt no comfort’ fic except I’m really struggling on the ‘no comfort’ part

There’s no full-fledged comfort in it, just a couple lines hinting at a happier ending, so I don’t think it would fit in the ‘hurt/comfort’ tag either

Part of me is considering just… making up a new tag. I’m thinking of calling it ‘big hurt/tiny comfort’

Anyways I just wanted an opinion and this blog felt like the place to go;-;👍

You could try the tags: hurt/no comfort, hopeful ending, if you don’t feel those work- go for the new tag! (but know that it won’t necessarily help readers find you as it isn’t as established)
