Today I saw the new Mission: Impossible movie with my mom and brother—fun, explosions, Tom Cruise running at Mach 7, the usual—and immediately spiraled into a debate with my brother about who would survive a head-to-head: Ethan Hunt or Leon S. Kennedy. Cue my autistic brain kicking into overdrive and spawning not one, but two fic ideas that will either blossom into chaos incarnate or rot forever in my WIP folder like cursed relics. Idea one: a massive crossover between the IMF and BSAA, where Ethan and Leon are reluctantly teamed up, Benji and Chris Redfield bond over caffeine dependency, and everyone questions their life choices mid-mission. Idea two (and I don’t know why I love this so much): an alternate timeline where adult Rose Winters works for the IMF, sass and mold powers fully intact, driving Ethan Hunt and every villain mad in entirely different ways. I blame my brother for this, and honestly, so should you.

I’ve been working on my Legend of Vox Machina and Percy Jackson crossover fic—where the PJO universe is blended into Exandria—and my poor (but unnamed) friend has been subjected to so many lore rants. No regrets. Anyway, I just had an idea, and I’m not sure how to feel about it: what if I wrote a prequel fic that reimagines the PJO series itself, but flavored with all the changes I’ve made for my crossover? Kind of a rewrite, kind of a worldbuilding deep dive.

No one really talks about how strange it feels to finish a piece of writing. I’ve been quietly working on an original fiction book for a while now—just for me. I kept it under wraps because I was writing the story I wanted to read, one that didn’t exist until I sat down and brought it to life.

And now it’s done.

It feels... oddly sad. The story is complete. The good guys won. Everyone goes home. And I’m left sitting here, realizing that this world—these characters—have been mine for years. My constant companions. My secret. My baby. And now, it’s over.

I’m still figuring out what to do next. Do I chase the traditional publishing route? Self-publish? Or do I just say “screw it,” toss it up on Reddit or something, and let the world have it?

unless they specifically asked, you don’t get to tell a fanfic writer you think they mischaracterized the character by the way. because the second someone writes a fanfic about a character, that character becomes the writer’s own version of the character. canon is only a suggestion, but whether or not an author will follow it / how much of canon an author will take is entirely up to them. you don’t get to stick your nose in their world and tell them “hey this is not to my liking therefore I think you’re doing it wrong” when you can simply leave quietly and move on to something else you may enjoy

I finally have decided to change the name of this blog to the new username, the one I use on A03, making this the final step of changing over everything to my username and leaving my old one in the past, on all my public accounts at least. It’s oddly sad, as I remember the old days as StarGirl. I miss it, but I think it was time. So, yeah, don’t mind me crying over here

That’s one thing that irks me. My first language isn’t English, and while it’s my primary now(to the point I have lost Spanish (I can still speak it, I just have to think about it), and I write with an odd tone. Could someone assume it’s AI, maybe as even AI checkers have flagged it(I use Grammarly) , but I do write my own things. And it makes me pissed knowing some people aren’t even doing the damn leg work to write their shit.

NOTICE: As more and more fanfic writers are using generative AI for their works (you uncreative dweebs), I hereby swear on everything I hold dear that I have not and will NEVER use generative AI in ANY of my written work. Everything I post will be organically and creatively my own.
