Noticed on my fifth viewing how much of a real one Pearline is during the fight after the vampires enter the mill.

After Stack bit Annie, Pearline managed to shoot him off of Annie to get him away from her and also nailed Remmick while looking unsure of herself, which is badass as hell.

She also managed to stake Remmick in the loft when the fight went up there before he bit her.

RIP Pearline, you were a real one girl!

Another thing fandom needs to start doing more of is projecting on tops.

There are delicious amounts of psychological distress you can inflict on that guy once you get into his head. The brainworms of forcing agency and initiative on someone who genuinely is Not Fucking Ready For It are exquisite.

so what plans did you have for mermaid the weeping?

What are your thoughts on siren the drowning?

Very vague nothingness.

I know I wanted it to touch on themes of like immigration and cultural ties vs new innovation and also how it's not healthy to completely shed your culture to assimilate to a new one and but also how shunning individual wants is also not good and the balance of that. Something about how the mermaids need to make contact with their home water every so often and if they don't they eventually lose the ability to go back.

One type/class of would need to spend at least a full 24 hours in the water before being able to go back to land.

I had some vague ideas for types of mermaids: the deepsea kind, tropical inspired ones, arctic, the classic alluring sirens, etc etc.

I was going to establish territories and """kingdoms""" and one was definitely going to be near New Zealand. I would have to flesh out the political aspects but most the tension revolves around the Going To Land thing. Why it should be done, if it should even be done, etc.

Siren the Drowning is great and I really like the time bendy aspects of it I think that is really unique and explains why sirens are separate from pre-established merfolk. Also there's a lot of cyborg stuff which is very cool. I'm always a fan of cannibalism. They have enough mixing elements that it really feels like a WoD game.

Overall very cool I like it.

Mermaid: the Weeping is canceled guys we already have Siren: the Drowning and it fucks.

Absolutely there would be horrific deep sea merfolk.

In which the ocean has reached such a disastrous state through both political unrest amongst mermaids of different clans and humankind's environmental impact that some have taken to land for various reasons. Either to escape, find help, take revenge, etc.

Let there be an uneasy truce between some mariner Gangrel and a pod of merfolk who both routinely pass through part of the sea.

Garou and merfolk teaming up to protect and clean a chunk of coastline. It's been turned into a place just for nature and neither takes up permanent residency but it's somewhere both groups can rest when needed.

Need some tension between hunters on the topic of merfolk. Yes they are coming onto land but only because they have been driven out of their original home and humans come into their home all the time.

I need you all to see the vision.

Another reason I respect Sinners is how Pearline is treated.

She is a married woman that sleeps with Sammy, when she dances and sings she does it in a seductive/sexy way but she is never treated or viewed as a negative figure. She isn’t a whore, or a slut, and she isn’t viewed as a temptation to Sammy.

In fact, the only part of the movie where you are supposed to disagree or (maybe) dislike Pearline is when she doesn’t want to eat the garlic. The movie makes us grieve her when she is killed.

Any other horror movie would have given her a brutal death, it would have been “deserved”.

Instead, Sinners goes out of its way to show that she is a human being, and despite her sins we love her. Decades after she is killed, Sammy names his bar after her despite knowing her for one day. The movie honors her.
