Guys I have a new In The Heights movie theory

Here you can see an analysis of Nina's outfit when she arrives back from college.

Pictured above is Coco, a character from Animal Crossing. Notice the outfit similarity and Existence Of Ears™.

Now, from this indisputable evidence, we can infer that Nina and Coco are one and the same.

Here's where this really gets interesting. You may have noticed Coco's distinct lack of eyes. Well, the leading theory on this may surprise you.

That is right, it is believed that Coco's eyes reside within her head and only show themselves when she wants them to.

Now, how could this possibly relate to Nina? Well, you might notice that Nina has a mouth where her other eye should be.

I would like to propose that this is not in fact a mouth, but rather a facade, and that if she were to reveal her true form she would look something like this.

You may notice some discrepancies in eye color, our previous theory was Coco's eyes were different colors, possibly stolen. Nina has proven that is likely not the case (by having matching eyes).

- Would also like to add to the Heights fan.... Heights is usually one of the main reasons why you outgrew Hamilton because you realize that it was the superior LMM musical all along lmao

- Didn’t follow Daveed that much but I loved him & Rafael in Blindspotting. It’s underrated af and was snubbed in everything tbh. Also love Anthony’s music & hoping that the Heights movie helps boost his music career... but fr tho, Ant & Jazzy shippers really need to chill & let them enjoy working separately in their own projects

- Is there a category for people who only listen to “good” musicals after Hamilton/the big 4/Heights? (By good, I mean musicals that aren’t classics but people who generally don’t watch musicals might enjoy, i.e. Hadestown, Waitress, The Color Purple, Chicago... The Spongebob Musical.....?)

heathers fans... are heathers fans for a very short time. enjoy your very short stay - oh, you also be making references everywhere!

I finally got my hands on a Nintendo Switch. And yah yah yah, I know Nintendo’s a shitty company with sketchy business practices but I’ve wanted to play Animal Crossing and Breath of the Wild for a LONG time.

It’s been 3 weeks now and my switch’s video gallery is already full and I have no where else to put them to make more space.

‘In the Heights’: Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jon M. Chu on the Hard Fight to Turn the Groundbreaking Musical Into a Movie

When Lin-Manuel Miranda was pitching his musical “In the Heights” nearly two decades ago, Broadway heavyweights stumbled over what he was selling. They wanted the young female protagonist Nina, who drops out of Stanford, to have a more dramatic reason for leaving school than the pressures of being the first in her family to go to college.

“I would get pitches from producers who only had ‘West Side Story’ in their cultural memory,” Miranda recalls. “Like, ‘Why isn’t she pregnant? Why isn’t she in a gang? Why isn’t she coming out of an abusive relationship at Stanford?’ Those are all actual things I was pitched.” He pauses for a moment, not to entertain those queries but to consider their absurdity. “Because the pressure of leaving your neighborhood to go to school is fucking enough. I promise. And if it’s not dramatic enough, that’s on us to show you the fucking stakes.”

Miranda stood his ground. The show that he wanted to create emerged from his memories of growing up in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood and from the painful realization that Broadway roles for Latinos were limited. So he used hip-hop and salsa to pay homage to a close-knit community of immigrants and strivers, bodegas and block parties, friends who feel like family and families that deal with the tensions of trying to make it in the greatest city in the world. “In the Heights” would eventually open on Broadway in 2008, winning four Tonys and launching Miranda’s career.

Now, that musical is becoming a major summer film directed by Jon M. Chu. The Warner Bros. movie is finally coming out, both in theaters and on the streaming service HBO Max, on June 11. Even after a year’s delay due to the pandemic, the timing couldn’t be better.

And that’s not just because Miranda no longer has to fight to reflect the experiences that have since resonated with countless college students who have felt like Nina. “Because of the specificity of that struggle, I can’t tell you how many people have made it their business to tell me how much it means to them,” Miranda says.

After a hellish year in which audiences have been stuck at home and unable to hug loved ones, “In the Heights” serves as a joyous snapshot of the life we lost and have been longing to resume. It’s a music-infused love letter to a unique corner of New York City, as well as an unabashed celebration of community and what it means to dream outside the lines. The characters have an uninhibited zest for life, dancing in the streets, across fire escapes and through city parks.

“This is a vaccine for your soul,” says Chu.

But getting to this point wasn’t easy. ”In the Heights,” a movie that Miranda had been trying to make since Obama was elected president, overcame many hurdles and headaches, and was nearly left for dead while its creator struggled to find the right partners to help him realize his vision.

Yooo I was just re-watching the old In The Heights trailer again and I noticed the footage changed a little

For the most part, it’s mostly just that the logo and text was slightly tweaked, and the lighting and color grading improved on a little. For reference, the one at the top is the original version, the one on the bottom is how the trailer looks now.

The biggest change tho was the CGI on some songs. Like they added the floating fabric into It Won’t Be Long Now from one of the new posters.

The walking on walls shot also changed. But ironically, the CGI somehow looks more unfinished here than it did in the old version?? Surely, it isn’t the final edit tho and the one we’ll see either in theatres or on HBO is gonna be more polished.
