No no, Tachihara slowly forgetting everything but how his brother looked like. Not being able to remember minuscule details about his brother, his hobbies, his voice, but completely unable to forget the face that the two of them share.

Cursed to see a dead man and not himself in every mirror, every form of reflection. To have those who knew his brother mistake Tachihara as him, even if they knew that he had died.

Everyone in the Agency respected Katai's decision to leave. They didn't like it, and frequently tried to talk him out of it.

But they respected it.

... Mainly because Fukuzawa gave em all a very stern talking too.

About how "our paths may be dividing but Katai is still our dear friend. We should be supportive of him and his choices."

And he was right. So they all banned together to plan and throw a secret going away party for him.

It said a lot about the importance of the occasion that Kunikida let them throw it during work hours.

Ranpo: Nope, there used to be another takes off his hat but I'm afraid he's no longer with us.

Atsushi: Oh, I'm sorry.

Yosano: nods, somberly It's alright, sure it's been hard without him here. But he's in a better place now.

The reason why we never see Junichiro with an actual weapon is because he is absolutely under no circumstances allowed to have one.

Gun privileges were gone within the first 12 hours of him getting a permit and he got away with a pocket knife for a whole week until Kunikida took that too.

Unlike members of the agency like Dazai or Atsushi who are permitted to carry a firearm in very dangerous situations with a small lecture on gun safety, Junichiro can only earn his pocket knife back in life or death situations if he’s been well behaved the previous month.
