sometimes i think about how ginny being controlled by the diary eerily parallels the way children are groomed by adults, especially in this age where kids have unrestricted internet access and are coerced into giving out their personal information to people who exploit them.

tom preyed on ginny's naivety and insecurities, controlled her, isolated her from her friends and family, and made her completely dependent on him. and no one knew because he didn't have to be there in-person to do it.

put all the horcruxes and magic aside and you have a story about an 11-year-old girl who was groomed by an older teenage boy.

"Do you like dancing?" Sirius asked, his voice uncharacteristically timid, as if the pounding of his heart might drown out the music.

Remus didn’t miss a beat. "No," he replied flatly.

"Oh." Sirius nodded, forcing a smile, though disappointment flickered in his eyes. "Okay."

But then Remus leaned closer, his eyes hazy with alcohol, gaze fixed on Sirius with an intensity that sent a shiver down his spine. "Ask me anyway," he said softly.

Sirius hesitated, searching Remus’s face for a sign. Then, with a deep breath, he let the words tumble out. "Will you dance with me?"

Remus’s lips quirked in a way that made Sirius’s pulse race even more. "Yes."

It is very telling to me that people here seem more upset over JK Rowling being a Holocaust Denier now, as opposed to the 5+ months of bullying, harassment, death threats, rape denials, rape apologism, suicide baiting, doxxing, Holocaust Inversion, Hitler apologism, victim-blaming, dehumanization, gaslighting, and antisemitism in general that Jews have been dealing with since October 7th.
