The things we go through will change us. Whether they change us for the better or for the worse is up to us. The things I've learned have value and are worth speaking about, even if sometimes they upset people. Stand Up To Nazi's pronouns are she/her/they/them

I wonder if I could make some cute little lanterns like this using a battery powered tea light and thrifted cloth. I'll mess up the first few attempts but it'd be fun to try.

Once upon a time
(had to start dramatic, it's been way too long since I tried to force the brain juices to do anything besides look for an exit route)
There was once a tiny orange cat. He loved to climb and play and was so curious about everything around him. His little nose was so sensitive he could smell everything for miles around. At first it was overwhelming and he had needed to cuddle with him siblings until their smell blocked everything else out, but as time went on it became easier when he concentrated to pick up on the scents he was interested in and ignore the rest. When he was a few months old, he found a window that had been left open and decided to go for a walk. They had all been cooped up inside and though his humans fed them regularly with good food and water he had gotten bored of prowling about the living room and re-examining the curtains for any signs of disturbance.
While perched on the ledge looking out from the window, he saw a sudden movement on the ground! He launched himself from the window with no regard for the height or how he would land. Thankfully there was a closed trash can just below that broke his fall half way, though he only caught the edge of it to slow himself down. Shaking himself off on the ground, he looked back at the can and made a mental note not to leap before looking next time.
But where has the wiggling thing gone? In the mad tumble he had lost sight of it and now there was nothing but the gentle blowing of a light breeze stirring up some leaves on the ground. But leaves would do! He pounced on them, rolling about on the ground like the mighty hunter he believed himself to be. Though he and his siblings often wrestled with each other there was almost never a clear winner, it usually ended in a nap instead. Regardless, he considered himself the finest hunter who ever lived. He itched to prove himself. What fun would it be if he brought back a little treat for his humans! They would be so pleased he could take care of himself now, maybe they would let him leave through the door next time if he could prove his skills!
With that idea to guide him, he set off in search of food.

Burning loose incense or resin without charcoal using a big old jar candle
Some of us love using loose incense and resins but don’t like using charcoal tablets to burn them on. I’ve seen methods using tea lights and tinfoil but they look so flimsy they scare me. So I’m going to give you my method, which is at least somewhat sturdier.
You’ll need one of those big jar candles, but not a new one. You want one that you’ve mostly used up or even an empty jar that you can put a small candle in. Below I have a mostly used up candle from Walmart.
Tumblr media
Now the trick. You have to find one of these:
Tumblr media
It’s a metal sink strainer made with fine mesh. They’re usually hanging around your local grocery store for less than $5. (Obviously you don’t want to get the plastic kind.) Metal tea strainers also work, but these sit nicely in the jar candle.
See. Place the strainer on top of the jar candle and you have a candle incense burner. You can see why you want to use an older candle or place a votive in an old jar because the flame easily heats things up.
Tumblr media
Resins or bulkier loose incense can be place directly on the mesh. For finer ground incense, you can use a piece of aluminum foil.
Tumblr media
Safety precautions: Place your candle on a flame proof base well away from flamable items like drapes and scarfs. Have something nearby that you can use to cover the arrangement and smoother the flames if needed. And DO NOT leave this unattended.

I looked at some old online journal posts I made back when I was probably like 18 or 19. Dear gods, how did I survive to adulthood.
At the same time, I feel proud of my past self. Despite everything she dug us out of being in a constant fawn trauma response, using free resources I had to dig for online and journaling. She had no help and for many years no support either. I think that's a healthier way of looking at it rather than being embarrassed as I read back over the fawning comments I wrote to my abuser under those posts. We survived, and things might not look perfect yet but they're getting better every day.

I have more thoughts about the Queen of the Damned movie! The atmospherics were glorious, wildly overdone Gothic horror and immersive with intricate costuming and fun little hidden details. The backstory was solid, ancient queen who was turned to stone is revived and seeks to reestablish her kingdom. But the only character in it who has even a glimmer of any kind of motivation or reason for being was Akasha herself. Everyone else was just kinda...there. Handly literary meat puppets with loose outlines of character just fleshy enough to give them lines to say. Which honestly? I don't think I would have minded that either if one of them hadn't been the freaking Brat Prince of Vampires Lestat.
Lestat has whole books dedicated to his shenanigans, of which there are many. The man never met a problem he couldn't somehow make worse for everyone involved. He had motivations and reasons he expounded on ad nauseum constantly for everything he ever did. There's a reason his nickname is the Brat Prince. But the movie, instead of playing with that fully fleshed out characterization, chose to erase all the nuance and flatten him down to "aimless lovestruck puppy dog and junkie for Akasha's blood." Lestat's whole thing was pride, he's written as a prideful self indulgent little cuss. To be clear, he isn't a *good* character. He's very much a fop I wouldn't let near anything with a pulse. Or not, pulse optional. But he *had character* and could have been such an interesting foil to Akasha's pursuit of power.

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I don't think the American government as it has stood for the last 250 years is gonna survive this one. This is gonna turn into a revolution.

I just listened as someone casually discuss having a monthly budget last year that matched my family's yearly annual budget for the last couple years. Then he called a budget a "ceiling, not a floor" because they had planned a budget that would only work if they made a couple thousand more than they did last year. And who was going to cover that increase? God, apparently.
This is during a recession which is expected to get worse.
Sorry, I just needed to vent. That someone was my cousin and it genuinely breaks my heart to see how callously he's willing to manipulate people for money.

💫witch tips I've gathered for the past 8 years that have worked for me💫
some you may have seen before, some you may have not 💜
☆ . +.。 . 。, ☆ ゚. + ☆ * 。゚. o, 。 . + ゚ ☆
- blow cinnamon into your front door in the beginning of each month to welcome in abundance.
- speaking of abundance, mix basil in your mop water before you clean your floors.
- the upside down broom trick works. if you don't know what i mean, turn your broom upside down (bristle side up) and have it near your door to ward off unwanted guests
- if you can, avoid welcome mats. it's literally inviting unwanted energy into your home. if you already have one, just turn it to face the door. OR draw sigils and intent under the mat to specify which energies or being are welcome and which aren't.
- got those cute polaroids of you and your friends? put up a photo wall if it's to your taste, and pay attention to the ones that keep falling. they either may not be doing well, or they may not be wishing you well.
- for the art witches, especially the ones that sell their art, put that intention into your moon water and use it as paint water.
- another tip for the art witches, use sigils when staining your board
- and another for art witches, treat your brush like your wand
- for the 🍃💨 ouid witches, write intentions or sigils on your wrappers, and even pens!
- you used rice and crystal CHIPS for your money bowl, and now that you're refreshing it, it's kinda tedious to pick out the chips? use a selenite stick to stir the bowl. bam. refreshed and no hassle.

You're 100% correct, and there are a lot of people saying it too but they're being hidden or suppressed. Only roughly 25% of our population voted for him. He straight up admitted in a public speech recently that he won because Elon did something to voting machines in Pennsylvania, but the Democrats are too busy doing respectability politics while all the nonprofit groups are trying to stop him from defunding elderly healthcare and school lunches to do anything about that
Yo, correct me if I am wrong please, but didn't Hitler rise to power because he promised to fix the German economy and people really liked that so they looked past everything else he was doing??? Like exactly what's happening in America right now???
So many people said they voted for Trump, put a truly evil person in power, because he said he'd fix the economy, and a little voice in my head is going, "Isn't that what happened with fucking Hitler??"
But I've seen no one point that out so maybe I'm miss remembering???????

From Trump’s executive order — It basically declares everyone is now a woman.
All human embryos are female at conception…it takes around 6 weeks for fetal testes to produce androgen which counteracts the estrogen which produces male genitalia.

Much gratitude for the pupper pic 🐕💗🥺
This Too Shall Pass
I know everyone’s been worried with who’s taken control of America, and I can’t pretend I’m not. I don’t think any of my loved ones don’t fall into some oppressed group. So, I took out my tarot cards and asked “Is it going to be okay?”
Tumblr media
Well, my tarot method may be a little different than some people’s, I don’t analyze the cards individually so much as look at the bigger picture, but I felt driven to tell y’all what it painted for me
We’re at the beginning of a rough time. The next four years are going to be scary and disheartening. Our rights are going to suffer. No one can deny that, not even magic
But…
This too will end and new beginnings will come. It doesn’t make it okay, but there’s hope for a better day
So don’t give up. It’s okay to be scared, but it’s never okay to give up. That’s what they want you to do. So hold your head high and remember: We stand together
Hold your loved ones close and remember that the sun always rises again
Love y’all. Stay safe <3
(PS: Enjoy a free pupper pic in this trying time)
