In the wake of 0 good video game rating systems I have devised the "video game scale" ranking how much of a "video game" it is. Essentially how much the core gameplay loop matters to the rest of the game. The most "video game" type games are arcade style games, the super Mario titles, rhythm and racing games. The least "video game" games are sandboxes or metafiction. Games like Minecraft, Undertale are low on the video game scale. This has nothing to do with how good the game is or what genre it is
