In his latest book, Rumors of a Divine-human Synergy in Our Midst, Filipino theologian Levi Oracion, challenges movements of change to provide a viable ethical rejoinder to the magnanimous weight of their struggles by finding clues in the life and ministry of Jesus to which he writes: “The nobility of one’s cause should, therefore, be matched by the nobility of the means of getting there just like what Jesus did –he had a noble vision and the means he sought to get there was through the combined force of righteousness, truth, mercy and love."

Germaine Greer, has defined her goal as "women's liberation" as distinct from "equality with men". She asserts that women's liberation meant embracing gender differences in a positive fashion – a struggle for the freedom of women to define their own values, order their own priorities and determine their own fates.

Lean Alejandro, stood out as an activist because he possessed insight, a unifying approach, speaking and writing skills, and courage and boldness. Older and more experienced colleagues in the protest movement had him in high regard, and government negotiators who met Lean across the barricades gave him their grudging respect.
On September 19, 1987, after the failed coup attempt led by Col. Gregorio Honasan, Alejandro announced plans to hold major protests against the return to fascism in the Philippines. He was fired upon by a gunman, while riding in his car instantly killing Alejandro. One suspected that the assassination had been in the angle of Marcos loyalists from the Philippine Army, but no one was arrested for the assassination.
