"... Me? I am simply here to sample the pipe-weed and the wine... They claimed it was worthy of The Lord of Song. I find myself uniquely fit to Judge that."
I finally finished my picture of Miyuki. I had to put it down for a long time because I got really frustrated with shading part of it. But I finally circled back around today and finished the picture - both with the tails and without. Miyuki is a character from my oldest written world setting called The Mirror Worlds. Specifically, she is from the world of Altera and comes from the continent of Aldrahon. She crossed the sea west at the behest of her Deity, Staccar. She serves the Lord of Song as a messenger - and typically manages a lot of his domain as a trusted ally and beloved adopted daughter of the God. She tends to travel frequently, and her particular interests are in the refined arts. However, due to her position as Staccar's favored messenger she is frequently very busy and often a little frustrated with his willingness to engage in festivities and local inebriants rather than the less colorful facets of managing his own domain. Despite this, she does love the God that raised her. I've had Miyuki as a character since middle school, and I have some sketches of her on my old facebook page from around 2018 using one of her old designs. I revisited her design in 2022, but three years later I thought I could give her an even better glow up. And well, here we are. I am pretty happy with how this turned out though, finally.

Mission Status: SICK
I finished my picture of the Decker/Netrunner after a little bit of experimenting. Its 3:20 am. I have not slept again. But it does look really cool.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I got up and started sketching instead of fretting about exactly how much sleep I was losing. Here is a Netrunner/Decker from Cyberpunk/Shadowrun. I play both ttrpgs and Cyberpunk 2077 so its pretty interchangeable which one it is. This isn't any character of mine in particular - just someone I thought looked fun in a cool pose. I might make her a cannon character at some point. She is kind of giving me vibes of an NPC I have for a game I have never gotten to get off the ground. I make make this her design. We'll see.

Undine, my Water Genasi Oath of The Watchers Paladin of Helm. We're like a year and a half into the game that I play on Saturdays, and I still love my big dumb blue thembo sword lesbian. We still have a ways to go, and I wanted to finally update my art of them. I can definitely say, a year and a half of art progress and more time and effort spent on the piece has definitely helped how they look. Anyway, I have a version of the picture without their face plate. Warning, though, they have some pretty nasty scars they got in a sahuagan attack before the game started.

Satellia of the Guiding Star, my NPC Fey Druid I did for a campaign a lot time ago. She's one of the sweetest characters I have ever written with genuinely the most touching friendship I have ever written with the player character I was running for, @teatimetiger 's character Theran Xygen. Its been three years since I last drew Satellia, and the little lady approached me in the Brainspace and informed me she deserves an up to date portrait.

Happy Easter, or whatever you may or may not be celebrating today! I've sketched out my two Twin Gods, Spring and Autumn, from The Seventh World, a world setting that myself and @teatimetiger cowrote.
I love these two so much. They such blorbos from my shows. The really are just both mentally ill in the opposite directions. They both love and care for each other a bunch as twins, but they often butt heads since they have very different ways of viewing and seeing the world. Both of them are also equally as likely to tell you that they are the older twin. Spring is the God of Beginnings, New Growth, Love, Nurture, and Transition. Spring is on of the most spontaneous Gods in the entire pantheon. This often annoys his brother who prefers to be more thought out. His forms and manifestations can sometimes be spring flowering honeysuckle vines and/or their pollen, Great Horned Owls, and his more human form. Spring is spontaneous, energetic, and highly outgoing. Autumn is the God of Endings, The Harvest, Wind, Knowledge, and Change. Though many humans who follow him appended Wisdom on the end of that list. He himself will not confirm or deny it (He is not a Wisdom God, but is too proud to tell people he isn't.) His forms and manifestations can sometimes be Wind, Great Horned Owls, and his more human form. Autumn is meticulous, organized, and likes to have everything in a very specific way.

Carahai, one of my Villains I first spun up for The Mirror Worlds, who I currently use in other settings. Driven mad with moments of lucidity and the one who actively ruined all of her closest friend's lives out of paranoia and desperation to live. She is a shape changing demon that was grown in a lab from a mixture of DNA from different types of demons and other creatures.
For notes design notes, she emotes facially very little, and instead kind of does like a chameleon or a cuttlefish. I kind of picture her moving around and fighting like Double from Skull Girl, but WAY less quick on the changing into other people and more heavily focused on the weirder movements. The bone armor you see are HER BONES. She makes a carapace because its very hard to make functional armor for her because of how she moves and fights. The holes on her face are like viper pits that she can scent the air with. She has about a 300 degree range of vision. And she is a shape shifter and is capable of mimicking people's appearance and voices and powers provided she can ingest some of their DNA. She does not have an inner monologue, and instead thinks in concepts and emotions and pictures. And despite the former, when she is calm she is very eloquent - but was not when her former friends first found her in a fucking magical laboratory.

Merlin, my Wizard OC. Drawn again in God's year 2025 so I can look at him again. One day I'll design his robes.
I got frustrated with my last WIP, so I am employing the old take a break strategy until I am no longer made at the part of it that has me stumped. Until then, I have been making smaller sketches to keep my hands busy and keep myself in practice.
I made a new portrait of my Wizard character, Merlin, for the first time in like three years give or take a month. Fun fact about Merlin is that is not actually human, but frequently takes a human form because he just thinks humans are Neat. Man likes food, good conversation, and he loves studying what humans are coming up with all the time. He tends to over think things - drawing them out FOR WAY TOO LONG to perfect a plan. And he looks serene and elegant until he opens his mouth and talks almost entirely through his nose and is an eccentric weirdo.
He himself likes to study human Wizardry because its just absolutely neat what people come up with in their shorter lives. If I ever did him as a PC he'd have a curse or something that is keeping him in human form - but I would probably run him with a different stat block. He misses flying.
I know I am being vague, but presently the man is my back up character for if my Current Water Genasi Oath of The Watchers Paladin explodes and dies (Which might happen because its not a real fight unless Undine goes down at LEAST once in the combat) and I know one of my friends in that game is on here sometimes and he does follow my main page. But anyone who knows the things I am hyper fixated on or just knows a lot of monster lore can probably figure out his character gimmick quickly.
I almost rolled up to the game with him outright, but I like Undine a lot and definitely the Paladin was much better for team comp early game. Divine Smiting the boss of the midway point of the game for everything Undine was worth was one of the reasons we won that fight. Also I do think Merlin has a name fitting of his actual race, but people kept fucking it up so he was really like "I'll just change my name to most human Wizard name known in the realms, its fine." Though, in the original Urban Fantasy setting I used him in he literally WAS Merlin Ambrosius of Arthurian Legend. Obviously I would not bring that as a PC to DnD - that'd be overstepping my bounds I feel.

Update: Mission Status: SICK I really like how I am getting Miyuki to look. Fingers crossed I also absolutely knock coloring her out of the park. And the background. For now I have lined her and blocked out my areas I am going to color. I've been working on this on and off today between just vibing and listening to music so IDK if I am going to finish it today. I might though because IDK what else I am going to do with my life tonight.

Its like 5 am here, but I can't sleep so I started sketching. A few hours hour I have a WIP I like of fox spirit character, Miyuki. She's the heavenly messenger of the God of The Arts, Festivities, and Mirth -Staccar from my head world - The Mirror Worlds. She normally ends up doing most of the secretarial parts of his domain as he'd much rather be out partying with mortals and seeing their creations. Miyuki was given to Staccar as a pet nearly a thousand years prior to when I usually run games in the mirror worlds. He decided rather than a pet, he would like a friend - and as such raised her as a messenger rather than a pet. As such, she grew to be a shape shifter and a refined patron of the arts. She gets a little frustrated that Staccar will not manage any of the more bureaucratic parts of his domain. Out of the two of them, Miyuki is definitely more responsible. However - they both care for each other as close friends and family. Anyway, I decided to sketch her in the small hours of the morning because I haven't drawn her in like two and a half years. And I picture her just a little different than the last time I drew her. I might finish this in the morning.

Decibella, The Demon of Modern Music (self proclaimed). I redid my picture of Decibella since she and Mantis have linked backstories. Like a lot of my demon characters, I reuse both her and Mantis for several settings and tweak them a little to fit the setting they are in. And frankly Decibella has changed a lot as a character since I first made her. Like... she actually has motives and reasons for her actions instead of just being a stock evil guy to throw at players?? I tried to make her look a little more thematically correct, and also give her elements of the kinds of demons that make up her ancestors. I mean, she in my head is a bit of a mongrel of a demon in that she just has very varied bloodlines that led down to making her. Fun Fact, for anyone who knows about my other majorly music themed man - Reginald Draust - she had the powers before I gave them to him. I just ended up scrapping the concept of Hell existing in the world she was first in, but liked the battle by music idea and made a vampire who had it instead. Today I have two very different characters whose major difference in combat style is flavor and genre. Anyway, IDK if I am going to use her in anything any time soon - and while I'd like to at some point I don't know if I have anything going on that I can squeeze her into at the moment.

Today I have been working on a sketch of Decibella, who was my Demon of Modern Music. She has ties to Mantis and they often work together. She's honestly getting such a glow up since I last drew her back in 2019. I think most of her old design was still okay, but I wanted to tweak a couple of things to look more cohesive.

My bug demon has never looked so cool. I updated Mantis's design with some more intent and care than I did last time. I gave her Tarantula Hawk wings and colors, I gave her as close of a tail as I could get to an Arizona Bark Scorpion physically, even if the colors are Tarantula Hawk colors. I gave her those big fake mandibles that Earwigs have. I tried to give her some armor that is actual armor adjacent - granted its still very Fantasy Armor. Also I made her hair style easier to read? Kind of anyway, it still has anime hair cut syndrome. But Mrs. Demon of Change/ Mutation has never looked so cool. As always its fun to try and figure out how I am going to pose her and her six arms.

I finally have a WIP I am proud of. I made a New Years Resolution to draw at least once a week since last year I had one of the worst art slumps of my life. But I thought it would be fun to give Mantis a light redesign since I made changes to her character like a year and a half ago but never really updated the concept of her design? It doesn't look that much different than the last time I drew her, and like depending on circumstance she'd probably still be a minor antagonist if I put her somewhere again. But Mantis has weird anatomy so its fun to practice posing her.

Well, the turns have tabled and when sitting in call until like 3 am two nights ago me and one of my two best friends noticed that one of my oldest characters actually looks INSANELY good with a light pink motif instead of being a brunette. Count Reginald Draust has never looked more like a baddie.
So, since we we're messing around in our combined anything goes modern fantasy AU, and effectively 'Yes, and!'d each other until we were both crying over how totally inseparable we managed to make our two vampires from two COMPLETLEY different world settings, let alone genres. Two hours later we worked both characters into each other's original head world and I decided to draw a version of Draust for our Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fan game we've had going for like four years. He just looks good.
Man may be over two hundred years old, but he's got that Rizz that lands him the wildest friends. And a girlfriend that is essentially a magpie. I love them both. God I have watch people fumble trying to kiss this character for like fourteen years in various RPs and DnD games, and only now in the most batshit way possible has anyone succeeded. Godspeed everyone. It only took eight people to figure out how to talk to the funny vampiric count - let alone kiss him.
I added the last time I drew him to show the severity of the glow up after two years. Now he ACTUALLY looks like his next of kin, and I am unreasonably proud of that.
