About requests

My loves, y'all know how much I love talking to you and how much I adore writing your requests. BUT: I feel like there are a few things we need to remember about requesting – things I notice with messages my mutuals receive as well:

Please be kind, start with a hello or something

It doesn't hurt to use "please" and "thank you"

We aren't getting any money for this, we do this in our free time, so please accept that we don't always want to write every request – don't demand stuff from us as if we work for you

As much as some of us would love to be able to read your mind, we can't, so please be specific with the things you want to read

It may sound stuck up and arrogant, but I simply ignore requests that are just idea dumps without any pleasantries. This is why I am now closing my requests once again, because most of the requests I received lately are just rude or demands I don't want to follow. I hope y'all understand this! <3

heads up everybody who uses taglists: tumblr's made a change where you can only tag 5 people per line of text. so if you have a taglist like this:

@persononeee @persontwoo @personthreee @personfourr @personfivee @personsixx @personsevenn

the last two people won't be tagged at all! in order to make sure everybody gets a notification, you can do it like this:

@persononeee @persontwoo @personthreee @personfourr @personfivee

@personsixx @personsevenn

remember to check your taglist after posting, preferably on the mobile app, where the difference between tagged and untagged users will be visually obvious.

yes, there are that many really disabled people on the internet actually

When I was less sick I used to think, "It seems like such a large portion of people on the internet are disabled, it can't possibly be that large of a percentage of the population" and then let my ableism demons tell me it was because they were faking (the same ones that told me I was faking, until I made myself really ill.)

But now that I'm sicker and wiser I realize I was logically just wrong because

The internet is disabled people's lifeline. There are more disabled people on the internet because OF COURSE. People who aren't disabled can be less chronically online because they don't have to be. This is textbook selection bias!

But actually also I was almost right, because there are way more disabled people in society than you would think! They're just systematically hidden and excluded from public spaces for abled peoples' convenience! 🙃

Anyway maybe this will help you understand and/or explain to abled friends and family.

Managed to finally dream something after so long of waking up too early!

Dreamt that Final Fantasy 7 Remake had an NES demake. Cloud and Tifa were chased by people on horses (I lost the game and they got arrested)

Then the next level has Cloud (likely brainwashed) beating up Aerith and Tifa. I lost again and they got beaten.

Oh how I miss dreams like that...

ADHD pro tip: Use psychological warfare on yourself.

For example, in order to do long tasks, like folding laundry, I put on the Mario Hat:

The main feature of the Mario hat is that my headset does not fit over it, so when The Bees™ try to put me back in front of the screen, the headset issue forces me to remember why I put the Mario hat on, and back to the task I go

As a bonus, the Mario hat is also a very clear indicator to my housemates that business is getting done, and they have learned not to distract me when I'm wearing the "goofy-ass cosplay hat"

It's not stupid if it works.

So y'all know how my doc told me to exercise and lose weight for my sleep right? Well, plan, when I see him next time and he says that, I'll tell him "Then give me something to lose weight or at least lower my appetite." If he refuses, yeah, finding a new doctor. Hey teenagers.

You aren't slick. We adults know you look at our smut. We know no amount of minors DNI is gonna stop you from looking at our smut. We were teenagers once too, you know?

But please. Don't interact with people about sexual things online. Reading somebodies adult fic is fine. I don't like it, but you're gonna do it. Commenting on that smutfic, or joining a discord server for it, puts everyone in a really dangerous situation. Thats an entirely different level of risk. Not even with people your own age, since you can never know for sure.
