Window
Every morning the same, I rise Far, through the window, the ocean roars With a sigh I long to be far from here under it's skies My mind wanders could I reach it's shores?
Far, through the window, the ocean roars The the violent waves and deadly storms of thunder My mind wanders could I reach it's shores? I lose my breath as I imagine waves pulling me under
The the violent waves and deadly storms of thunder Waters of dreams where heroes are made through courage I lose my breath as I imagine waves pulling me under But as I meet the horizon's gaze I don't budge
Waters of dreams where heroes are made through courage Every morning the same, I rise But as I meet the horizon's gaze I don't budge With a sigh I long to be far from here under it's skies

Legends and Epics of Ostare -Understanding the history of Ostare’s history: A overview
(I mentioned it on my tumblr before but I have been world building a world in my head for a while now and well I need to become better so I'm finally posting something concrete about it. I made it to look like a in world source like a text book one would find in a university or school this would then be the first chapter or maybe a preface/introduction. It goes up to the "current" time because I have a few ideas for stories that would happen during that but why make a timeline instead of writing those stories? easy answer baby steps I need to get better I don't want to be the person that gives up when the thing they write isn't the perfect image they built up on their head... also writing a legit novel is hard. I hope anyone reading this enjoys my ideas and please fill free to comment on them and especially on the many grammar mistakes I probably made I'm posting this late at night for, am dyslexic and didn't really proof read it)
The age of Legend (Zeroeth Age)
A somewhat controversial age composed of unproven events, often coming from folklore or religions throughout Ostare, that despite their mythological status describe the creation of things and places we know to be real and have yet to be explained by scholarly efforts.
The reason for the existence of this zeroeth age comes mostly from the historical disagreement between the clerical scholars of the Celestine faith and the Bard king [name tbd], the first scholar to create a formal organization of Ostare history that was broadly accepted. The reason the Age of legends continues being taught like it is despite many scholars being critical of is mainly due to years of convention in the way history is taught in many colleges however pedagogy scholars defend the use of the Age of legends claiming that the often times wondrous stories of the Zeroeth Age being called true are powerful tools to raise a interest for history and studying in children.
Lonely age (First Age)
The longest spanning time period thus the dates of certain events are vague, not fully identifiable, and/or are subjected to much scholarly debate. The first age describes the time period in which there was little to no interaction between the different intelligent species of Ostare.
Due to each species having developed during this period essentially by themselves the study of this age by scholars is highly isolated and usually done by scholars of their respective species. Due to this reason the knowledge on some cultures of this era is much deeper than others. Most notably the the knowledge of the Orcish culture is lacking, despite being one of the ancient people they never developed their own written language keeping their culture alive through a strong oral tradition until the first contact with humans when they adopted the human alphabet this fact combined with their culture being semi-nomadic leads both to difficulty in separating the factual from the fantastic in Orcish stories and made the broader scholar world to erroneously believe that Orcs were less developed then other cultures up until the modern era where archaeological discoveries put the Orcish people together with Elfs and the Go-pherin as the tree ancient cultures even older than Elfs.
The age of connections (second age)
The date of the start of this period is a debated subject while scholars agree that it starts with the first contact between western continent and the twin continents to the east. The debate starts when the first contact by date happened in the so called Meeting of Twilight when Elfen sailors from the Elfen Empire of Night in the western continent found a shipwreck from a ship hailing from the Elfen Empire of Day in the northern continent which lead to the contact between the Elfs. How ever despite having developed their languages and customs in slightly different ways the two continent's Elfs were still essentially the same people in a similar manner of how humans had developed many different kingdoms bordering each other thus many scholars put the beginning of the period around 100 years after the Meeting of Twilight. Still scholars are a contentious bunch so even within the branch that believe the Humans were the initiating force of the second age there are some that put the start of the second age with the human discovery of the western continent as the offical start of the Second Age while some put it with the formal establishment of the Celestine Empire others still put the start with the first contact between humans and Orcs, the first contact between different species in recorded history, a few years later and a smaller yet still significant amount of scholars put the start of the second age a couple of decades after the first contact with the establishment of the continental trading company the first company to establish a direct trading route between goods from all three continents allowing goods, knowledge, language and persons originating from all species to diffuse through Ostare.
The matter of the starting point of the second age notwithstanding it is a scholarly consensus that the second age is categorized by the rapid exchange of goods and ideas from different cultures leading to a prosperous time and rapid improvement for all but especially for the young species which profited from having younger cultures which were much more flexible to new additions from the outside being much quicker to adopt things from the other cultures with the only exception being the seemingly immediate adoption of the human tongue by the Orcs.
The fifteen decades of strife
Although not recognized as a Era of Ostare’s history the fifteen facades of strife is the name for the transitional period between the Age of Connections and the Modern Era, the name was popularized by a poem of the same name depicting some of the many unfortunate events that happened during a period of roughly 150 years. Wars, weather events, food crisis and many other things that lead to drastic changes to the political landscape for such a short period
The modern Era (Third age)
The third age is defined by the new political landscape having solidified after the happenings of the fifteen decades of strife, because the end of the Second age came from a myriad of events happening all over the world an exact date, the date varying by 400 years depending on which event one counts, for the beginning of the Third age is impossible to be set. Many scholars however use the date set by the Gregorian calendar named after the Bard king Gregor Ian since many Countries use the date on their respective calendars to restart the Year count this occurred because of the Holy Celestine Kingdom adopting the Gregorian calendar as their standard after a failed attempt to annex the Bard Kingdom, as a way of saving face the then Celestine King decided to use the “superior” calendar created in the College of Bards and due to the popularity of the Bard Kingdom many Countries decided to also adopt use of the ME (Modern Era) and BME (Before Modern Era) way of counting years as a way to commemorate the victory of the Bard kingdom and the unity between many kingdoms that caused it.
As the shortest Age and the one currently happening not much is possible to glean from it however many scholars are begging to call it the Migrant Era as the number of people form different species moving and settling on areas that were not historically lived by their people is becoming increasingly common and its the belief of the author of this text book that how the immigration of these is handled will be the deciding factor on whether this Age will be prosperous or have a few more decades of strife or worse.

So I've had this idea for a fantasy world I've world building for fun/maybe writing a novel or something with it as a setting someday, and I had the Idea to make each of the fantasy species (including humans) and their culture be defined heavily by one aspect of what I think makes humans, human or deferenciate us from other animals. Each civilization would have everything since I like my fantasy species to be pretty much human, but one thing would act like a pillar to the culture
For example, my world's Orcs would embody humanity physical abilities as a pillar or their culture they would love sports and be specifically really good at walking/running long distances. Because of that, the Orcs in my world will be some sort of semi-nomedic culture (as soon as I actually you know write them instead of just having vague ideas in my head) having as a coming of adulthood ceremony/tradition to go out on a pilgrimage, they would still cook or have a religion physicality would just be very important for Orcs
So I have these rough elements for humankind
Agriculture
Physicality
Cooking
Artisan/crafting
Religion
Community/exploration/sharing
But I feel like I need one or two more species to populate the world since I changed a few things history wise for the world I could move the ones I have around but before o do that I thought why not stop being a anxious little bitch and ask Tumblr for any thoughts/ideas? So if you have any ideas of other things that make us, us feel free to tell me.

Don't know if that will happen or not but it would be a fun nod to his original concept of being a weirdo that miniaturizes cities and collects them, if I'm remembering correctly his first/one of appearance was when Superman discovers he had miniaturized Kandor so and does a whole trying to safe it but not being able to thing
So...
The Kryptonians were banished to the Phantom Zone, right? Like that's what Brainiac did. He just banished them to the Phantom Zone.
Like he legit described his actions as sending them to hell which is a typical comparison to make with the Phantom Zone. Does this mean we'll get Jor-el back? Lara? Zor-el?
Are they NOT actually the last of their kind?!?!?!

The wisdom of the bard king
Close your eyes and listen to the people's song, hear the drums of the stomping feet of workers on their commute, the tambourines of running children as they play, the flute of idle whistles as one walks down the street, the violins of a mother brushing her daughters hair, listen closely to the lyrics sung from the meeting of love confessions and polite greetings to strangers. Listen as the tempo rises in the morning and falls at night guide your people like a maestro does an orchestra you might thing that a single player being behind or a single instrument out of tune will amount to nothing but a song like this is can only be played with union

Projects i don't have talent or work ethics to make #1 ttrpg
So... here's the deal i have zero experience with pretty much everything creative and -100 exp with ttrpgs in general but i have the curse of being a silly human and having this disease called ideas and so i'll put these ideas out there maybe it will come force me to do something with it probably not though.
Now as stated i'm not knowledgeable on ttrpg, game creation, or anything really but maybe i have cool ideas? who knows?
First idea: Video game crunchy yum style
i think D&D 3/3.5e were like that although i don't know how deep it is or how much of match it is to my idea. Maybe i should've made some research on ttrpgs so if you know any ttrpgs that match my ideas feel free and please do tell!
But anyways what am i thinking of this is by fusing a load of video game style build and combat systems to make ttrpgs have that crunchy combat that i love but also if it's at all possible for it to have more videogame esque puzzles though i have no idea how to do that at all lol. I do fear that if a ttrpg ignores social/role play aspects it would be pretty shit and i don't have many ideas on how it could be better than what D&D offers but i do think that giving a large amount of character build options would at least make playing a character fun even if the game rules don't offer anything special
list of things i'd like:
Make all classes fun in combat: no more giving spell slots just for magic users. Not allowing martial classes to have a list of special cool yet limited things to do makes them feel stunted and dumb i understand the idea they are meant to be more beginner friendly but that's dumb you can give them a small amount of things they can do with their action that won't muddle the combat since beginners will always have the easy option to just hit something but if the barbarian has the option to taunt a few enemies around them will give a great reward to the veteran that is paying attention to the board
More variety for attacks: having your weapons just change how much damage they do and only having to choose which ones out of the one your character knows how to use do the most damage is boring, sure a few weapons have a special thing like spears having reach but come on you call that super fun and different? spells are better but not by much more individual damage, smaller aoe damage, a few spells that have a somewhat useful secondary effect but many of these just get out classed by shear damage, few buffs and debuffs that are so strong they are limited by concentration and stunt your possibilities for combat not much more fun but do you think it's the best it could? (although to be fair i can't think of a better way to do buffs and debuffs since ttrpgs are limited by human hardware) how do i propose to fix this? stealing of course now i really have no idea if this would be legal and if it isn't this would be much harder (would only really be solved by making more monsters vulnerable/resistant to damage types) but the idea is to steal octopath's break and boost system which Wikipedia explains like so "Break: Every foe comes with a set number of "Shield Points" and a series of weaknesses, which are unrevealed when the party first encounters that foe. Weaknesses correspond to one of the six different kinds of weapons, or six elemental attacks, in the game. If an enemy is struck, using something it is vulnerable to, an equal or greater number of times than it has Shield Points, the enemy is "Broken;" it loses its next turn and takes increased damage. However, once it gets a turn, it is guaranteed to act before the player does, preventing the player from locking it Boost: Each party member receives a Boost Point at the end of every turn, and may store up to five at a time. During their turn, a player can use up to three Boost Points to either strike with their weapons multiple times or increase the potency of an ability. A Boost Point is not gained the turn after using them.". Honestly i think adding this to D&D is enough to make it's combat a lot more fun this way even if weapons don't do much diferent from each other you at least get a incentive to try different types of weapons and to get things different from your other players and giving something more to martial classes (having more attacks to break not needing to spend magic), you also give the opportunity to make spells that might not do as much damage but will hit more times giving the ability for players playing magic classes to chose to be main dps' (focus of preparing and holding for big attacks once enemy is broken) or support dps' (focusing on breaking a foe to allow others to hit big damage) in addition to the other ways magic classes can fight. The only problem might be that creating such defined roles would make combat way too predictable but i think careful game design would make this problem much lesser or even non existent (said the person with 0 design experience lol)
Lower stakes but prolonged ones: this one might need to be a choice but i think when the only bad thing mechanically that can happen to your character is death combat smack in the middle of a weird paradox where the stakes are too high to actually happen but if you didn't die but also didn't recover as much health between combats or had other debuffs applied when taking heavy damage it could make combat both more impactful on role play and more intense maybe?
figure a way to make healing a character so they never hit zero hp: i just think that the desperate rush to heal the knocked out character by 1 d4 a bit weird and annoying but not too sure how to accomplish this although i think number 3 would help in some ways
A whole lot of character customization: i don't know too much about 3/3.5e but i think i understand how prestige classes work and something like that sounds very fun but again i'm not sure how it worked but a way i was thinking of it would be to make multi classing something more easy like giving characters a main class and a secondary class that would level at half the speed so you'd be level 4 in total but a level 4 fighter and a level 2 cleric with the prestige class like system of a paladin (which can be accessed by any martial class x cleric permutation or something like that) i was also thinking of having a system i called "source of power" where basically you'd have where you're character got their powers they would have some small bonuses and maybe a few would lock prestige classes e. g. Source of power: psionic mind, your character would have small amounts of telekinesis some mage hand type deal and some push and pull force powers. yet you can just say that it's your character psionic power that allowed them to be such a great battle master fighter but another character might've explored their powers and became a psionic warrior. In essence source of power would work as a feats at level zero concept but one that would add a lot of flavor potential (and work that might make the game a nightmare to balance but i am not a game designer)
Modular design: i mean this isn't revolutionary or anything but i do think having pre made rule sets to slightly move the game into different paths is a very good quality of life addition, make rules for base building that give a real advantage to the players depending on which npcs they can convince to join, more developed and complex vehicle combat, more survival rulings, etc
so yeah these are my not organized or concise rambling ideas for a ttrpg i have no way of polishing what do you think of them? is this a diamond in the rough, complete piece of shit, generic as fuck, or something else entirely? i think i had other ideas but i took so long to make this (i know sad) and didn't write them down so i do not remember them, oh well

I don’t have the greatest memory in the world so you might be right but from my recollection the only place that says “this is why princesses are named Zelda” is from the first two Zelda games for the NES also I’m pretty sure Zelda’s family lineage is the most suped up in the history of games and has received multiple light/holy powers, goddess Hylia reincarnate, light force from the Minish, Raru’s powers, triforce of wisdom, at least two sage powers, generic unnamed holy powers in multiple games that may or may not be any of the others, Zelda’s got some weird power cocktail going on in her blood
Zelda theorist: “There’s a lot of unanswered questions in Tears of the Kingdom!”
Me: “you’re right! Let’s hear what you’ve got!”
Zelda theorist: “Where did all the Sheika tech go between games???”
Me: “uh… they dismantled them? That tech was used over the course of 100 years to murder and destroy innocent lives. Nobody wants to see that happen again. Also Purah repurposed it all? Did you not see the guardian arms that come out of the ground at every Lookout Tower?”
Zelda Theorist: “How did we never see the sky islands before now?”
Me: “well, there’s two thoughts on that. First maybe the time travel works like in Back to the Future where events only begin to shift and change after the initial time travel event happens. The other more simplistic explanation if you prefer a closed loop time travel theory is that they were hidden by a cloud barrier ala Skyward Sword. This is backed up by the Light Dragon breaking through the barrier at the beginning of the game and by the Temple of Time side quest.”
Zelda Theorist: “how come no one remembers Link?”
Me: “plenty of people remember Link. Especially around the Castle Town area. The further out and into remote areas people’s recognition gets foggy.”
Zelda theorist: “Nintendo clearly doesn’t care about the canon of the games!”
Me: “wait what? Seriously? ….you guys are kinda bad at this whole theorizing aspect, aren’t you???”

Languages are difficult and any polyglot know translating things is hard redundancy is pretty natural in languages. Humans seem to hate not being under which is why you get words like overwhelm, whelm originally having the same meaning as overwhelm, or how people in Brasil tend to say “eu vou subir lá para cima”, “subir” meaning to climb or go up something and “cima” meaning the upper part of something or something above you making “subir para cima” roughly translate to “I’m going to go up above here” if we get our own words “wrong” you can imagine we’ll get other languages just as wrong, sometimes to a pretty funny extant like with the Portuguese “terra roxa” translating to purple soil which is a type of soil that is red the name coming from the Italian “terra rosso” rosso being red but we Brasilians “aportuguesamos” or turned something into Portuguese the word into a completely different color
settle this for me once and for all
is “chai” a TYPE of tea??! bc in Hindi/Urdu, the word chai just means tea

One thing that i loved about and that goes a bit under the radar of Ashera's ascension quest, buried under great character moments and so much sweet, sweet angst, is how it works as another little sign on how Moebius might not the world as put together as the claim. The Agnus/Keves soldier cycle isn't fool proof memories aren't erased completely so eventually even without the annihilation events wiping the world of Aionios out the cycle will eventually create forces that will fight against it, if things kept going Ashera would probably start her own city like rebellion force because the copper they're trying to sell is shit
jesus christ Ashera was executed so many times that she’s still feeling the trauma over a thousand years later, what the fuck

More spoilers! am i being obnoxious?
Based on Linka's (or maybe Panacea?) Affinity completion dialogue they don't know why some people from Alrest/Bionis are in aionios when they should be in Origin chilling i guess so my leading hypothesis is that Alrest team was tasked with figuring out how to use core crystal/ core crystal like tech to store all information including souls since we know core crystals store information and we see a ton of core crystal like objects inside origin, Bionis team was tasked with finding a way of connecting all the core crystals and making the structure of origin that concluded in origin metal a metal that can conduct souls and stuff. With Melia's ether abilities, knowledge of origin metal, and some maybe having learned about monado stuff from Shulk managed to create weapons that channel raw soul energy from origin coming from her friends which is why they are so strong Aionios and the endless now was created by the fear of change so it seams fitting that soul resonant weapons would be strong. Now is it a case of each weapon being resonant with a single specific person inside to origin? multiple? are do they resonate based on who's holding the weapon lets say if Lanz holds it he would get a Ryan boost while Noah gets a lets say Dunban one? I personally think its a case of each weapon being tied to a XC1 or 2 character but they only work with someone similar to the XC1 character now that is still a pretty lacking explanation is N sword different than lucky 7? Because Noah could be Dunban's son or something but it would feel weird to never even hint at that when we basically get confirmation that Mio is Nia's daughter like everything about Noah as a character and how the game deals with him points to "he's just a normal dude" like we don't even get a "you look like someone i knew" from Melia (as far as i remember) while everything about lucky 7 and Riku points to them seeking Noah out. I hope we get a XC4 just to explain some of this stuff i really need to see all these guys out side of Aionios but at the same time its fun to think about those things cannon or no cannon
Future Redeemed Spoilers:
Why is Noah so special? And I mean that in a what in the world is his deal sort of way.
XC3 basegame shows Noah being able to remember previous lives, to catch Z's attention because of how bizarre he is. Z campaigns hard to get N on his side. He also has the Sword of the End and is more powerful than the other normal Mobius. However, he's also never shown transforming like other Mobius. He's given a special position as a golden councilor above them all.
Kid Noah in Shulk's World is able to see the stopped time around him. When he's returned after XC3, he hears music and literally disappears from a crowd.
Now we have Future Redeemed... Which is a doozy.
So apparently Ontos/Alpha lets a few generations of Mobius' World go without issue. Then all of a sudden, he decides to strike? What changed?
Z recruited N.
N is now a Mobius and *coincidentally* Alpha's core crystal finds N's granddaughter and uses her as an avatar. A finds N's grandson and pushes him towards Shulk, Rex, and the Plot. Alpha and A can see the future, these are very deliberate and drags N into the Plot as well. N makes his last good choice for the next thousand years to save his grandkids- there's no one else who'd move him to act this way.
Riku said that he's already planning to camp out in Kevesi territory and look for someone to take Lucky Seven. Has he been told about a glimpse of the future? Because it sure seems he knows Noah's eventually coming...
In summary: ???

i am a total idiot and forgot Riku already had lucky seven with him so it can't have anything to do with Matthew's Pneuma core gauntlets (unless it like acts as a wand for the powers?) so i just have more questions

Future redeemed spoilers don't look if you don't want to!!
This is very interesting specially when Noah seems to be a normal ass guy based on the first/final scene of base XC3, he's like just running around with friends in a plaza not in the castle or anything like that. Also I might’ve been just too excited at the end of FR to be thinking straight but Rex says something along the lines of "if it was them they wouldn't bat an eye at helping" and it cuts to N focusing on the sword primarily (which has purple as one of its colors) and then just to Mathews fists which had a Pneuma like core crystal under the red details so like are the swords gifts from the other 2/3 of the trinity processor, something deeper, me being stupid? At the same time the Xenoblade chronicles games have a pretty firm you make your own destiny stance, with Shulk being destined to die for Zanza but saying nah i'm going to be god for a hot second instead and Rex helping Pyra/Mythra unlock the third sword, so Noah could literally just be a guy that sort of was in the right place at the right time fell in love with the right person and kept fighting no matter what which made him desirable for both sides of the eternal now debate? god i love these games

Xenoblade chronicles 3: Future Redeemed
First of all this game and this series as a whole is so incredible. Second i just beat the DLC but haven't 100% it so i have so much to scream i basically gave it a standing ovation it managed to answer juat about every answer i had about XC3 normal game and give me so much delicious and well made fanservice while still leaving a few questions, complete spoilered mad rambling under the cut
Are Noah's and N's swords Logos and Pneuma (or gifts from them?) or am i just dumb and didn't understand the final scenes because THAT WAS THE AEGIS' CORE CRYSTAL IN MATHEWS GAUNTLETS WTF!!!(We don't see Logos' core crystal but N's sword has some purple bits so maybe? or is one Mythra and the other Pyra i hope not!)... *ahem* i am very normal about this... why couldn't Rex and Shulk just say "yo kiddo yer my child" just for continuity and angst?! how dare but also thank you monolift.
Why didn't we see Fiora? love my girl and i miss her also when will we have a anime/webcomic/book about Rex/Pyra/Mythra/Nia and Shulk/Fiora doing fun slice of life family advantures?? no amount of fanfic will satisfy me (but if you have any give them to me)
After XC3 base story will A come back together with Rex and Shulk or will Glimmer, Mio, Rex's third unnamed child and Nikol loose their cool Non binary Unty (is that the gender neutral for uncle?)
The game play loop is probably the best so far i don't know if it would work for a 60 hour game i finished the story in 25 ish while taking my sweet time so i don't know but it made fighting the later enemies just as fun as the ones at the beginning something most RPG struggle i love the community build aspect that they always try to bring to the loop and this satisfied it the best (also number go up and check boxes get filled in make monkey brain happy)
did the credits confirm that the worlds fuse back together correctly or was that just Alrest or Bionis appearing from the weird 4d geometry?
Finaly thank you Takahasi and everyone that worked on these 3 games and three DLC/additional content (sorry didn't play x) it is truly a master piece of a series and i can't wait to see what you all have next in store for us be it Xenoblade related (whether it's with the characters we've seen thus far or just in the world much later in the future) or a wholly new endeavor I am already quite interested
Edit/ P.S
i might me awkward and anxious but this is an invitation to talk about XC as a whole and sorry for any grammar mistake i am quite literally ecstatic with the end of the DLC is this how people feel when they drink caffeine?

Minor correction? (Not really a correction since these things aren’t explicit exactly I just like talking about Zelda) Zelda doesn’t reincarnate they are just descendants of the first one. Ganondorf also does not reincarnate he’s the same one from OoT he just gets resurrected or doesn’t die and just gets sealed away (which is a bit weird timeline wise, not that the time line is the most well thought and consistent thing, but in the linked form of the oracle games Kotake and Koume after loosing Zelda to link’s rescue sacrifice themselves to revive Ganon only he comes back mindless meaning somehow somewhere he gets it back or something… anyway tangent over). This next part is more theory than anything else but Demise’s curse can seemingly affect others and drive them to extreme greed and rage that’s probably what happened to Vaati from minish cap and, more likely, what happened to Malladus from spirit track (who even had a demon boar like form)
anyway my take away from the curse Demise placed on the Goddess Hylia and Her Chosen Hero is and has always been that the poor bastard didn’t realize he was cursing himself too.
When he curses Link and Zelda to forever be hunted and haunted by reincarnations of his hatred and malice, he condemned his soul to never, ever be able to rest. He gleefully and gladly placed his soul in a cage called “Revenge” without knowing what he was doing.
Whenever a new Ganondorf is born he is born with a hole in his heart and a desperate need to fill it. Be that with conquest or murder or to feel the cold wind on his face, and that will always place him in the path of a hero, a Goddess, and a sword.
There will never be a Link who won’t have to fight for his life and just be a simple farmer, there will never be a Zelda with a peaceful kingdom and an uneventful rule, and by that same token there will never be a Ganondorf who will be able to look upon his desert home and his people and say “Yes, this is enough.”
With one pathetic, barely thought out curse, Demise condemned all three of them. The only difference being that Link gets to be a hero, Zelda gets to be a queen…and Ganondorf shall always be the villain in the castle.
Kinda funny, in a twisted sort of way, ain’t it?
