A very nice recommendation from a very nice skull
list of horror/horror adjacent podcasts I would recommend. This list will not focus on the big ones because you all know about tma and silt verses
the wrong station--my favorite horror anthology by far. The stories range from sf to modern horror to historical horror & fantasy to a sort of omniscient narrator/fairy tale fantasy tone. DOES know people have other jobs besides office jobs DOES know women are people and DOES get weird and gross enough on occasion to go toe to toe with the meat-themed tma eps
Palimpsest s1--ghost story that will get you in the heart. Loved the slow build up and creeping sense of dread. Sort of a Shirley jackson-esque vibe and incorporates some gothic themes
A voice from darkness--eventually commits the common horror podcast sin of being the lead-up to a book or a patreon-exclusive story, but I really enjoyed many of the more standalone episodes. What I like is that it dives into the horror of small town america & American hucksters. would rec the Traveling Salesman eps in particular
Down--I will NEVER get tired of doomed sea or space explorations and this is just that, but well-produced and with a great grasp of narrative pacing. The monster was also cool as fuck
Janus descending--speaking of doomed explorations, can't rec this one enough if you want to actually be scared. This one is TENSE
Video palace--just a fun mystery with a creepy cult. Hits that wikipedia deep dive spot and I remember this one being genuinely tense as well. The only downside is the house-of-leaves-style heterosexuality. but if you can tune that out it's good fun
Among the stars and bones--more of a psychological thriller than true horror but the horror vibes are there, especially in early episodes. It's a basic abandoned facility plot but gets more into hard science than most stories of this genre so if you like that, I'd recommend it
Knifepoint horror--personally I really enjoy the bare-bones production and the more meandering, naturalistic style of narration. A horror anthology with stories that often deal with themes of isolation. Your mileage may vary, but when this one hits it hits
I have some others on the list that I'd love to get to later this summer so tune in for more podcast opinions when I'm not talking about lesbian necromancers I guess. We all cope with the alectopause in our own ways. I may make a list of my favorite nonfiction podcasts as well

Thank you for the heads up! The Content Warning page was disabled accidentally while we were updating our site. It should be back up now.
We're committed to having content warnings. If the page suddenly disappears, please let us know because we wouldn't do that on purpose.
What is it with podcasts suddenly deleting their content warnings lately? Creepypod and The Wrong Station used to be really really good about tagging and it was a fucking godsend because I love horror but I hate pet death and now ig they're just not doing it anymore?????

unfortunately, RFK has eaten so much roadkill that rotting chicken no longer affects him.
that episode of the wrong station where an arrogant restaurant manager dies by falling into a mass of pestilent rotting chicken carcasses and disappears never to be seen again. manifesting this for RFK junior

You heard the gay jedi: start grabbing.
"I forgot how good the writing fucking is in this show. Why have I not already grabbed everyone I love by the shoulders and forced them to listen to it at me-point?" I ask myself with every new episode of Wrong Station.

And it gets better as it goes along...
Okay after listening to 3 seasons I actually would recommend Wrong Station podcast specifically for if you liked tma but didn't want the overarching plot. It is pure horror anthology but since it's mainly written by one or two guys they had to get creative after a while so you have some truly bizarre stuff in there which as a long time horror podcast listener is what I really enjoy. It sticks with the spooky tone too and there's plenty of monsters, body horror, and general existential doom. the writing gets better as it goes along--you can skip the first episode imo. My favorite so far has been s3ep14, Velvet. Good haunting atmospheric natural horror which imo is what the podcast excels at. I could take or leave some of the cannibalism episodes but I will say they're creative. LOVE the sff concepts that get thrown in sometimes but I'm in general a huge fan of a scary spaceship and will never skip anything that feels like a star trek tos episode gone wrong.
I'd say there's plenty to choose from no matter what your horror preference is. I think this one deserves more hype on here than it gets
