that's why cupiosexual and cupioromantic are labels that exist (among many other). that's why people can be sex and/or romance favorable and still be ace or aro.

i saw a couple people say you can't be asexual if you want to have sex, and that's just false. yes, some/a lot of aces and aros are repulsed by sex and/or romance, and they're so valid! but those of us who want sex/romance (for whatever reason) are valid and should not need to justify/defend ourselves.

To clarify, no, this isn’t to put down romance/sex-repulsed individuals, ya’ll are great /gen, I just personally never considered I was aroace because I wasn’t romance or sex repulsed and I wouldn’t doubt that this may be a more universal experience

for me personally at least, platonic relationships are when you look at each other knowingly, not in a romantic way and probably never in a sexual way, but you both exchange looks going “that’s my person.” and it’s the most comforting feeling in the world.
