Guys hear me out, this is my conspiracy theory LMAO

I feel like in God Games when Athena is battling the Gods to help Ody, of all of them, Hera wanted her to win the whole time.

Hera is the final "level" of the game, and if Athena convinces her to say yes, then it's a yes and Ody must be released, and I'm sure Hera knew that fact.

Now look at what all the other Gods say.

Each of them gives a very specific reason why they don't want Ody to be freed.

Apollo's reason is slaughtering the sirens.

Hephaestus' reason is the Scylla sacrifice.

Aphrodite's reason is abandoning his mother.

Ares' reason is being cowardly in the Trojan war.

And then, we get to Hera, and she's just like 'Yeah just give me any good reason and I'll agree to let him go'. She has no qualms with Odysseus, she has no motivation even to fight with Athena on this. She doesn't really require convincing, per se.

She's legitimately just asking Athena to give her any half decent justification so she can say yes and make it look legit in front of Zeus.

The whole time as Athena is giving Hera reasons, Hera is also continuously egging her on to give her a better one, a more sound one that would look really convincing. She's saying things like 'Try Harder' and 'You can do better than that.'

So my theory is that after Zeus announced the God Games, Hera saw it as a chance to stick it to him for once, for all his cheating and disloyalty to their marriage, so she wanted Athena to win, and played her cards accordingly.

All she needed was Athena to give her any half-decent justification for her to say yes, so that the games look legitimate, but ultimately she was on her side the whole time. She made the game really easy for Athena, because she gave her free reign to think of absolutely anything and everything she possibly could in favor of Ody, instead of giving her a specific, niche argument she has to fight against.

Additionally, Hera is the goddess of marriage in the pantheon, and even if she doesn't care the least little bit about Odysseus, I am willing to bet she very much cares about Penelope.

Think about it, Hera herself is stuck in an awful marriage to Zeus and is not very happy about that. And she would 100% relate to Penelope's struggles of being alone, missing her husband and trying to ward off the suitors who are trying to force her into a, let's be real, abusive marriage with Antinous.

Hera as a wife definitely sympathizes with Penelope as a wife, and releasing Odysseus so he can return to Penelope is the only way to help her be protected again.

So there you go. My conspiracy is that Hera for one absolutely wanted Athena to win the entire time. I think she at the very least tried to help her, I mean she couldn't have known that Zeus would fucking kill her for winning LMAO

I'm a bi woman whose mother also struggled with infertility for years before having me. She had to go through nigh a decade of fertility medications to be able to even conceive the child she desperately wanted. I understand how painful infertility struggles are, and I understand why you feel so connected to the plotline, and to John and Francesca's love story.

However I don't understand why you keep insisting that Francesca does not love John?

That is completely innacurate. Surely you watched the same show I did.

They spend the entire first half of s3 establishing them falling in love. From how John is the only suitor Francesca vibes with with multiple scenes of them happily sitting in silence enjoying the other's presence, to their passion for art, to John writing a music piece for Francesca that she excitedly practices with pure delight on her face, to the fact Francesca argues with not only her own mother about how this is the man she wants and she doesn't want Violet to keep pressuring her into changing her mind to the entire plotline of both of them defying the literal queen of England herself because Francesca does not want to marry the man the queen proposed to her, she wants John and only John.

That is one helluva love if I've ever seen it. Francesca absolutely loves John, and John loves her.

Francesca and Michaela have had only ONE exchange in the entire season and the most it established was that hey, they recognize each other as attractive and it's a bit of a whirlwind moment for both.

ONE MOMENT.

ONE SCENE.

Nowhere does Francesca suddenly stop loving John, nor is it normal behaviour for you to dismiss HALF OF THE ENTIRE SEASON ESTABLISHING THEIR LOVE in favour of arguing that JUST ONE scene where two women happen to find each other attractive during a time period where being gay was not even something commonly known to exist somehow erases the entirety of the rest of the season.

Francesca's exchange with Michaela is 50% 'oh, an attractive woman' and 50% 'oh a new feeling I never even knew existed before'

None of this invalidates the fact that Francesca loves her husband, that her fertility issues can still be explored just as deeply or the fact that John's death will be just as tragic. The writers of the show even said that John's death will be a tragic moment but ultimately Francesca's season is about moving on and finding love again.

Which is fairly similar to the book you love.

You're angry about literally nothing and all your points about how Francesca realizing she is capable of experiencing attraction to more than one gender somehow erases her love for John are proven wrong by 4+ hours of show runtime devoted to nothing else but her falling in love with John and sticking by her decision to marry him no matter if her mother or the queen or England herself disapprove

Having your bisexual awakening does not make your love for people in your life vanish and to claim otherwise is just batshit

So, first off - the central theme of Francesca’s book is moving on from the love of her life.

I don't need to see the script for any next season, when we already know she's not in love with him & she literally let her pussy drop for Michaela the second she met her, in front of her husband - DAYS! after her wedding.

That's disgusting. & 2nd CHOOSING a partner she knows she can't have a kid with is entirely different from not being able to have a kid!

Most of you are the making the case "oh, they can still do all that", like someone who's never looked beyond their own mental issues in relation to this.

I'm a proud lesbian woman.

Using Francesca’s story for our issues is NOT it.

If it was gonna be anyone, it 100% should have been Eloise. Her story doesn't represent a big issue that would have largely impacted her story, in our society or any marginalised group.

She could have easily chosen not to have the kids she ends up having & be content raising Marina's children with Philip. She's a nonconformist already! It wouldn't have been a stretch for her to fall in love with Philip's sister, who's raising the kids after both Philip and Marina died. It wouldn't have been a stretch for her to move in with the lady who doesn't care about society, only for her studies and children.

It IS a stretch for Francesca to marry a beard, attempt to have a child with him, loose that pregnancy after the tragedy of losing said beard (or maybe she just can't keep her baby while she's unhappily married to someone she's not in love with), while her pussy tries to climb up his female cousin's leg, who she knows she can literally never really be with in the way she wants to when she decides to remarry in the books, she can never have a family with - the way she yearns to in the books, who won't ever be accepted as her partner in the society she grew up in ON THE SHOW!

Doing this to Fran is making a Frankenstein's monster out of her story, no matter how the next season is written! No matter how much any of y'all approve with this form of genderswap representation! No matter who the actors are or what they look like!

I am definitely triggered by the topic because my Mom struggled with infertility for YEARS before and after having me. She killed herself when I was younger. After a miscarriage. It's WHY I'm so passionate about this change & why I hate it so much! My dad took years to move on from the loss and fall in love again.

Francesca's story always spoke to me on a personal level. & while I COULD have accepted Michael's gender change, the loss of love between Francesca and John, along with it, PISSED ME OFF.

Like, this WAS NOT the way to do it!

Clue Fest is for participants over 18 years old only. If we find out that you are under 18 before the fest posts, you will not be allowed to participate. If we find out after the fest posts, your work will be removed from the collection.

How do you know if your work/idea fits the fest?

We’re open to fic, art, and podfic. 

What kind of works are we looking for? The work should feature a mystery, and the characters’ attempts to solve it should be central to the plot. What kind of mystery? That’s up to you, but to give you an idea of what we’re looking for, it could be about:

The minimum word count is 1000 words. There’s no maximum.

Artwork

We accept drawings, comics and illustrations. They can be digital or traditional.

We do not allow photo manips, moodboards, banners, or any copyrighted images.

Every art piece has to be a stand-alone, made exclusively for the fest. 

You may include a personal watermark if you’d like, but it’s not required.

Podfic

The fic you chose must be at least 1000 words, there’s no maximum. 

The audio intro must include the title of the fic, the author’s name and any warnings that are major AO3 warnings (rape/non-con, underage, major character death, graphic depiction of violence, and creator chose not to use archive warnings). If you use any potentially triggering sound effects, such as a gunshot or screams, please also state that in the intro. 

You are free to include your name in the audio intro, but we advise against making your podfic anon. 

We’re going to use the honour system when it comes to permissions. If we are contacted by the original author stating that they did not grant permission for a podfic to be made, we will contact you for proof. If it’s not provided, your podfic will be immediately removed from the fest collection.

The mods will listen to your podfic before approving the podfic. This is to ensure all links work and that no big sections of the fics are missing. We’re not going to check if every single word is the exact same as in the fic. 

You’re allowed to create cover art for your podfic, but please you images free of copyright.

You can include music in your podfic, provided it’s royalty-free.

What the fuck OP? How fucking dare you? Oh my God you're fucking disgusting. Don't slander someone's hard work! How would you feel if someone shat all over your own writing? You're the one that needs to delete your post, not the author you're insulting. I bet her writing is lovely.

I've literally never posted or even reblogged anything here before lmao I just been lurking around, BUT I found this one AO3 writer and she writes mostly Drarry fics for Harry Potter and I actually decided to read one of them cuz the premise seemed interesting but I gotta say—I was disappointed. It was so bad. So poorly written. A mess. I had so many feelings and now I need to rant. Would've never guessed my first post here would be a rant about some truly shit writing, but here we are.

I looked around her profile more and found she has Tumblr too! So, I lurked around (as I've been doing) and honestly—no better there either. It's @/missdrarrydawn and lol—Kind of a festering cesspool of idiocy and crappy writing.

I mean idk why she's writing when she clearly doesn't bother to make it good or worthwhile. Fics littered with typos, stupid plots, no character development, gross writing "style" (if one could call it such). Just an all around horrible waste of time. I looked at the comments and saw people were liking it too? Surely no one is that braindead to enjoy her poorly written crap, then again this IS 2021 after all.

Although I'm fairly certain she gets a lot of criticisms and just deletes them lmao. Strikes me as the type of person with an ego fragile enough to do that lol.

She has like 62 fics on her profile and they're literally all the same shitty song and dance. Guys I cannot emphasize how dumb those fics are. I never interacted wirh her work or her obviously and I never want to but I gotta rant.

Idk why this made me so mad lol, there's so many shit fanfics out there and she's by far not alone in stuffing the fandom with crap. I guess that's my issue really, the fact fandom is getting clogged up with stupid shit content instead of some genuinely good writers that I know exist out here and @/missdrarrydawn is not the only one but assaulting my eyes with her shit had been the straw that broke the camel's back thus this rant.

I doubt anyone will ever see this but I needed to get that off my chest. If you're writing bad shit fanfiction please stop and disappear. Same goes to the @/missdrarrydawn woman. Delete your fics lady, you're staining perfectly good fandom space with your horrible nasty writing.

I just wish fandom would be filled with more genuinely good writers instead of all this crap.

We're very excited to announce the DHr Monsterfucking Minifest to be released this October. This is a fest to celebrate all things creature within the Draco/Hermione pairing, from veelas and vampires to catboys and aliens. We're going all out this year.

Dates: Signs up open August 1. There is no cut-off date to join the fest, but the the submission deadline is September 25th. Collection reveal will run from October 1st and until October 31st. Rules:

This is a creature fest, one or both of the main character (Draco and/or Hermione) must be or become a creature to some degree.

Art, fic, or a combination of both is allowed.

500 word minimum or the equivalent in art. No word limit.

No bestiality. The creature must be sentient and possess human level intelligence (or greater).

What creatures are allowed? Sentient creature of any variety are permitted. Be it vampires, veela, dragons, demons, selkies, fae, werewolves, aliens, mermaids, or catgirls and catboys, or any other type of sentient creature you can think of. If they're not human and but have human level intelligence (or greater), you're probably good to go.

What isn't a creature? The A/B/O trope/characters are not creatures. Superheroes or superhero-esque types of characters are not creatures (e.g. a Greek god wouldn't automatically qualify as a creature unless the story leaned heavily into their otherworldly qualities being far beyond HP universe magical abilities, e.g. Marvel's Thor isn't a creature, but Loki in his Jotun form could be regarded as a creature).

Is non-con and dark fic allowed? Yes. Aside from no bestiality, there's no other default content restrictions on what can be included in the fest. HOWEVER those elements **must** be carefully tagged and any applicable Archive Warnings included. Failure to do so will result in the piece being automatically excluded or removed from the fest.
