sirius going on this long journey in the veil between life and death (where he's trapped quite literally) and trying to find his way out. he stumbles across his brother at some point, so they go on this Grand Adventure to find and fight their way back to life. eventually they make it and sirius comes stumbling out of the veil with regulus right behind him, but the kicker is that neither of them remember wtf happened in the veil so neither of know wtf is going on. the very first thing that happens is regulus takes one look at sirius and goes "father???" and sirius immediately turns around to head for the veil and kill himself again
